  1. Happy to try and organise a catch up with everyone, really! Can organise further via pm if that helps. Can even chat on group Facebook chat as well to make it a little easier
  2. That'd be great! I'm 32 and my wife's 31. Cheers!
  3. Thanks for the information. It's a little trickier on a phone to go through these forums I'm sure!
  4. We're in Birtinya we have a 2 1/2 year old and a 2nd one due in July. Would be great to catch up with other Poms in the area! (I'm Aussie, my wife's from the West Midlands) Cheers!
  5. No not at all. Can you please send me the link? Cheers
  6. Hey there, Appreciate where you're coming from and I understand where she's coming from, as I too spent time in England (nowhere near as long) however I can understand missing home comforts as well (sunlight, iced coffee and meat pies for example) were some things I really missed. My wife's enjoying life here, however I know that if I had Aussies closeby that I could catch up with and hear a familiar accent and be able to discuss things back home that people in another country might not completely appreciate or understand, I know I would have felt more at home. Nothing bigger going on at all, just honestly wanted to see if a Pommy group existed on the coast is all. There's a stack of Poms here (my mum and grandparents were 10 pound Poms, however wouldn't call them English these days) so thought it'd be nice to ask in a place where I would expect such gatherings to exist. All good at the end of the day! Thanks to all that have replied, it's much appreciated.
  7. Hi there, Meaning that the lifestyle that she had in England is different to the lifestyle here on the Sunshine Coast. It's moreso home comforts that are missed (favourite foods amongst other things, etc) as well as family as well (she's the only one from her family in Oz) so possibly there might have been similar families that might have been in a similar situation.
  8. Hey there! Thanks for the reply and thanks for the suggestions. I'm a local myself and my wife has been on the coast on and off for a few years, but no doubt I reckon its great for ex pats to catch up with each other and see how everyone's adapted to the Aussie lifestyle. Trying to find others like us on the coast is definitely proving to be difficult! Cheers again
  9. Hey all, No one from the Sunshine Coast here at all? would be nice to meet other Poms on the coast!
  10. Hi all, Long time stalker, first time proper posting! Was hoping to see how many British ex pats are located here on the Sunshine Coast and also whether a group of people would like to meet up at all? My wife's originally from the West Midlands (I'm Australian) but also lived in the West Midlands briefly as well. The wife is missing home dearly and I'm sure if there is a local gathering of some Poms on the coast, we'd love to meet up! We currently have a 2 year old and one due in July we're in our early 30s. Love to grab a coffee at a local Cafe, which is our favourite pass times! We're located in Birtinya and we spend the majority of our time between Caloundra, Maroochydore and out to the Hinterland towards Nambour, Landsborough and Beerwah. Looking forward to hearing and hopefully meeting you all! Cheers
