  1. I know the pain and frustration of the wait combined with the no news then some progress followed by scary news followed by nothing then amazing news! Basically it's a hard but well trodden road and all you can do is follow others and hope that your journey gets you to the same destination; the ability to have a future with the one you found love with despite the distance.

  2. If it's any help; my timeline for the pmv300 was...application lodged August 2017...didn't hear anything until December 2017....then request from immi for more information (police and medical) medical failed and deferred sent in more test results by end of December .....didn't hear anything else..24th January visa granted! ? activated April 2018....married June 2018....starting application for onshore partner visa 800 now

Hi @spangle 1I get there after wedding.. Wedding on the 24th Nov in Bali and then moving to Aus. Visa expires 13 December. I'm definitely cutting it close. How is the adjustment going?

Wow definitely close but the wedding in Bali is surely worth waiting for ? gradually getting used to this new life here myself I'm sure it's different for everyone but the same in that basically we all want the same thing...to be able to be with the one we love and that makes everything worthwhile x

  4. Hi Nikisha, haven't heard anything this end re more sponsorship changes. Due to start the part 2 application soon so I guess I'll know more then ? also about the bridging visa too as I know I will probably need one given next stage processing times but also unsure how that works. Hope things are going well with you, when do you move here yourself?

    Guys!!

A couple of weeks ago I believe there was an update on the sponsors requirements. Does this affect us? I tried to find info on immiaccount but the info stated that it only affected applicants as from 16th Nov 2016 (which is us).I am not sure if this info has always been on immi or this pertains to the 'new' update?

@spangle 1I think you can help here since you down under already. Any changes???

    Sounds so much like me!

Trying to get house sold at the same time is like trying to align the stars lol!

I’ll keep an update on here ?

I can only imagine! My situation was slightly different..I'd had to sell before I could apply (the two things were only loosely connected) but the worry of maintaining a living of sorts while waiting was difficult..please do let us know how you get on ?

    Thank you!

    I submitted on 27th May

medical was updated on immi account this week 27th June

police checks already done and uploaded.

crossing fingers for a smooth and swift clearance:-)

Great news and good luck! It's really hard not knowing and just waiting, I remember searching the forums all of the time for anything or anyone with a similar situation to see if I could get an idea of what to expect. ?

yay! Congratulations ? So happy for you! Now you get a well earned honeymoon and some time together before throwing yourself back in more of the visa moshpit ?

Thanks hun ? it actually feels quite surreal. We had a lovely day and just how I hoped but like most on here after so long it's taking a while to sink in, as you say now it's back to reality and the next lot of paperwork ?

My s/o has her federal one in one, and my UK one came back - offcialy not a criminal, and a certificate to proove it! lol

We're pretty much there now, big relief is finally got the money for the application fee! That's been worrying on my mind for ages - I was terrified I wouldn't get the money together. We're just waiting on a few stat dec statements to come back, and whilst that's happening we're getting together our social media proof. With this, for Skype and Facebook Messenger, do immi want actual screen shots of the log, or is it better to export the logs to a text file? For Emails can we just submit the results of an Inbox search with dates and names, or do they expect the full text of every email?

So pleased everything is going well so far, the money is always a worry until you have it ready. I can't help with the Facebook stuff and I'm not very technical but I did submit some Skype transcripts through the agent and I think I did them the same way as Nikisha says and that worked for me too ? quick update here...We finally tied the knot last weekend (16/6) ? still can't believe it!

Feeling slightly jealous as I'm all for dotting I's and crossing T's myself..only consolation is that for the next part I'll be on site to double check his ??

I have no idea what my partner applied for he swears it was federal but they sent back state check ? So he had to apply again for the federal , he probably wasn't paying attention to my nagging lol xx

If it's any consolation Angelpie, my oh didn't have a clue half of the time what he was doing either ? I'm sure it was more by luck than judgement he got some of it right lol xx

    Hi all,

Getting my police certificate sorted and gathering the last of my evidence together. We've been having a look at the main form my fiancee needs to submit and we're a bit confused as to whether or not she needs to get a police/background check done, and submit it to immi, or if they request it themselves? If she does need to get it, does anyone know what it is she needs to ask for, and if she needs to apply to the federal or NSW police? Nearly there now!

    Hi there,

If it's any help we received my oh police check request when I got my request for medical and police checks and I believe it's an afp which is federal?!

    Best wishes

This forum has been a god send for me , plus it's great to see how others are going and their tips on things - I'm looking forward to my first bottle of corona and 5 mins chill out after all the craziness has died down ? Xx

Yes, so right a great place for tips and info. and to hear from others in the same situation. it's easy to feel isolated when you're going through this process I find that friends and family ? although sympathetic don't always understand why even the smallest details can be important ? xx ? cheers!

Yes we have my visa ends December but the wedding date is end Nov so rather a hurry. We opted for the 8th month post visa grant because tying up things in South Africa take awhile I.e job, apartment, belongings. If I may ask did u immigrate with any possessions or just yourself?

Best of luck for your wedding ? too ? exciting times. You're welcome to ask any questions - we're all more or less in the same situation here ? I came over with just the one case (the biggest that met the size reg. it weighed in at 28kg - the allowance was 30 lol ?) and a cabin case with my wedding dress in it. I've left the rest of my possessions in long term storage for the time being as my oh already has a home here and there wasn't anything we really needed atm x

@spangle1 Wishing you all the best on your coming nuptials. Exciting times ahead.

? yes indeed did you get your wedding date sorted in the end?? It's really confusing (the dates for everything and run out times) isn't it? ? I'm already collecting evidence for the next part which I know we have to have done by October, which sounds like ages but with the wedding and everything else I think could seem to come around quite quickly! ☺xx

Also my news - had my medical yesterday at Knightsbridge Doctors in London. Lovely female doctor really did her best to put me at ease given the awkwardness of standing in an unfamiliar room with a complete stranger in nothing but your undies :) - All looking promising on that front, so onward and upward

Thanks Hibiscus Dreams ? good to hear your medical went well and fingers crossed ? your application progresses too xx

Congratulations spangle and best wishes for your wedding ❤️ Do let us know how you go on with the next stage , enjoy the break first tho xx

Awww thanks hunni ☺ and will do..you too let us know how it goes it's always good to see peoples updates ☺ had a busy couple of days here getting formal stuff done; bank, driving licence etc while oh has been off work to ferry me around ☺ but having a break now xx

  18. So, heads up to everyone and hoping ?everything is going well for you all. I really understand from experience how scary the process can be (not all of mine was straightforward my medical that was referred being one ?) but finally I can say it has been worth it all so far! I arrived here in Australia on Saturday no problem at the border and am settling in with my oh ? looking forward to our wedding. I'm viewing this as a bit of a break from all the form filling but am also mindful and already collecting evidence for the next stage.

    best wishes Spangle xx

  19. No question is silly when you're trying to find your way through this process ? I'm not actually sure what the right answer to this is (if there is one) all I can offer is personal experience and basically anything that required certified copies I got done before scanning and sending to our agent ? xx I now obviously have a file of originals with their certified copy but figure at least if I'm asked for either I'll be able to produce them x

  20.  Well done getting the registration forms ? hope it goes well. As for the medical and police check all I would add is remember that they are only valid for 12 months and check what that means to your eventual visa timeline (I'm still not sure how that works myself) It's really only the Australian Stat Dec's that count (hence the form 888) but we put in 3 from people in the UK who had spent time with us together anyway and 2 of those were certified along with the persons I.D by solicitors. Hope that helps ? (only costs a couple of £)
