  1. Oh nooo don't say that! I worry that I will get closer to the time and whatever way in we thought we would take then becomes null and void! It seams like every long street that we walk down has a dead end
  2. Is that $120,000 for 2 adults and 1 child? My son would be 13 -14 when we would be going.
  3. Many thanks for your replies. Firstly the joiner course is something I wanted to do I have been in the building trade for many years but not got qualifications on paper. I do think it is more likely that we will end up paying the full amount to "buy our way in" .
  4. Hi everyone. I am looking for some advice on eventualy moving to australia. I will be using a Mara agent when the time comes but for now I would like to get an idea of which route we would probably end up taking. I will now give some more details and hopefully some kind soul would be able to help. There is myself aged 37,my partner aged 52 and our son who is 9. We own our own home mortgage free but can't sell for another 4 years so couldn't move until 2022. My partner is over 45 so I believe it's only me who can possibly get the visa for us? I am starting a joinery and carpentry course in September and I may do the level 3 which is the highest qualification or do just the level 2 and apply for a student visa and complete the level 3 in Australia. We could sell our home and pay to get into Australia but not have a lot left to buy another home once there. I don't think I would have enough work experience once qualified as a joiner/carpenter to get a skilled visa. My partners 2 daughters are Australian citizens and live in bundaberg with their partners and children so there is also the balance of family? I have no idea where to start and it's getting harder to watch my partner and my son get upset when we end a video call to the family in Australia as we miss them so much. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you
  5. That's fantastic thank you I will have a look at their website
  6. Hi thanks for your reply. This isn't to emigrate we have family over there it's for a holiday. We own our own house so when the time comes to emigrate we would be ok. I have seen some airlines that offer a book now with a small deposit and pay the remainder 6 weeks before you fly. I am struggling to find a reputable airline that does this on a long haul flight.
  7. Hi all could anyone suggest an airline that flies from Manchester or Liverpool where we could pay in instalments before we fly? We could save and pay just before we wanted to go but there's always something that pops up that needs the funds so we would never end up getting there! Any help would be hugely appreciated
  8. That's fantastic I was a little bit worried. Thank you
  9. Hi all. I have been looking at the 189 visa and the EOI and it says that " Everyone who wants to be invited to apply for the visa must submit an EOI. You must be under 45 years of age to submit an EOI. I am 37 and my partner is over 45 does this mean we both have to be under 45 or just myself as the main applicant? Any help on this would be appreciated
  10. Hi many thanks for your reply. I think your right we should speak with an agent as it minefield. The transplant doesn't require anti rejection drugs as it's the cornea.
  11. Hi all. Myself and my partner and son are hoping to eventually move out to Aus. I am a type 1 diabetic well controlled but I've had 1 corneal transplant and I'm waiting to have the other eye done. This is for a condition called fuchs endothelial dystrophy and not diabetes related. Once I've had the transplants I will be ok. I'm wondering how this would affect my application. Any help is appreciated
  12. Hi many thanks for your advice. My partner has 2 daughters both in Australia and 1 son in jersey. We have 1 son together who lives with us so it's 50/50 balance. The health is what's bothering me really. Although the condition I have with my eyes will be fixed I 've I've had the next corneal transplant. The diabetes is well controlled. We can live with one of our daughters to start with and work. We were hoping I could possibly train in something in the 4 years wait and maybe try that way but is it a good idea? We would have some money left over after selling the house and if needed pay to get in the most expensive way but would rather try something that would leave us with enough to buy a house when there. This is a minefield with so many avenues to navigate!
  13. Hi everyone. Myself my partner and out son are desperate to move to Australia. My partner who has 2 daughters who are Australian residents and live there with the grandkids. The predicament we are in is that we bought our house on a right to buy with the discount and cannot sell it for another 4 years to get the full market value. I am now 36,my partner is 52 and our son is 9. We dont know where to start. My partner is a health care assistant. I don't have a trade . I don't mind going to college and training in something if it would help.i also have some health problems. I am diabetic which is controlled ok but I have had 1 corneal transplant and awaiting another In my other eye then the problem will be fixed. I am worried about the health test. We are mortgage free so we would if needed have the money to pay the full amount in 4 years which I think is 43600 Aud pp. I know this is for adults but how much would it be for our son who would be 13 or 14 when we could go? We really don't know what visa we need or anything we could do in the 4 years we have now to better our chances Any help would be welcomed
