For me, this is gorgeous though. Just a shame I am missing it as stuck at work in Whitley Bay
Nothing wrong with Whitley Bay I spent many a happy afternoon on the beach there when we were kids. My oldest friend still lives there.

Assurance of support period is too long that is 10 years. It is a great responsibility on person providing assurance of support, in most of the cases I have seen the visa holder pay themselves but it will be on the name of the person providing AOS. Let us say of visa holder is not capable of earning and he can’t meet his day to day expenditure than the responsibilities of providing boarding and lodging is of the person providing AOS. In case the person who provided AOS become jobless and don’t have any money to support them. They can request the Centrelink after seeing their circumstances they may grant them some money but it it will be recovered from the person providing AOS when ever he start earning. Centrelink will not provide till the time 10 years period is completed even if you become the citizenship. This is a very tough condition. In normal circumstances if you come on parent visa after two years you start getting the benefits of Centrelink probably if you are without a job.
My understanding is that no one should give AOS unless or otherwise he has a lot of money to support them for 10 years.
Amber has explained very well. I suffered as I could not get the properly understanding about Visa 143. Before applyingThis is why it is an Assurance of Support, so the burden does not fall on the Australian Government!

Not going to make anything or anywhere safer. Its just yet another renaming and realigning of departments. Australia does this regularly as it keeps people in a job redoing all the paperwork etc and makes people think the government is doing something worthwhile. Queensland recently did a similar thing, renamed about a dozen departments for the fourth time in as many years
Yes, same in WA. It's supposedly done as a cost cutting exercise (less high level positions) but nobody in their right mind believes it!

Hi Cheryl,
I found this thread interesting as I have had mild psoriatic arthritis for a couple of years and live in Perth. I am finding my joints are much stiffer in the Perth heat but spent a few weeks in Europe in their summer and was much better. Whether the improvement was also related to being on holiday, no stresses etc I'm not sure.
I suspect there's no 'one size fit's all' with relation to weather and arthritis and we're actually considering moving to Tasmania when we retire although will probably plan to spend the winter somewhere slightly warmer.
The weather ?

That's a beautiful photo, it looks like a painting. However, I remember having to trek to school in snow and biting cold wind and the romance disappears
