  1. Hiya We are anxiously waiting for news from our agent , to see if we have been invited, here is my timeline so far ........ 15.01.2018 SKills Assessment Successful 14.03.2018 IELTS Passed L7.5R 7.5 W7 S7.5 23.03.2018 EOI Lodged (190) How about you?
  2. Hi scott i will answer the best I can..... so in regards to evidence, I didn’t upload any videos it was just about 15 before and after pictures of colours cuts and extensions. There are compulsory sections that you need to answer in the technical exam, like colours, cuts etc like how you would perform them step by step. Then you have to pick some 3 different sections out of about 8 I think ? i picked perming, extensions and stock take. english test was for points, I did the pte academic 3 times and couldn’t pass on the speaking every time! I picked the pte as heard it was easier, so after 3 failed attempts I did the IELTS and got 7 and above in every section which is what I needed so was a big achievement for me ? that was the IELTS general. the commitment statement is explaining why you want to live in NT and why it would suit you and your family , so basically listing everything from schools, which suberbs you would like to live in , that you have researched the weather, researched job opportunities, hobbies, affordability, just everything to do with living really, etc etc . yes we are so determined and desperate to get out there, we live in Scotland and it’s been a long winter hope this has been helpful
  3. Hiya , I think it is a more recent thing that you have to go to a centre for technical exam , I’m hoping if we do get invited to apply for NT that our wait won’t be as long , does anyone know the average waiting times for 190 visa hairstylist with 70 points for first the EOI then 2nd the actual wait if we are invited ?
  4. Hi I have recently done a skills assessment but my agent who has been really good submitted everything for me, it’s not somebody on here as I found this site after I found my agent . But from the top of my head here are some of stuff I sent her - references from previous employer, (I was employed for 10 years) wage slips , (then been self employed for 5) so tax records for last 5 years , references from clients, receipts/ invoices from wholesalers, certificates, self employed template, which I had to fill in giving some clients names and phone numbers, services I offer etc. That was the first part of skilled assessment then I had to do technical interview in London , so I revised for that about the science side of hairdressing- the colour wheel, what the hair is made up of etc, different cutting techniques, different colour techniques, stock in the salon , reception services, making appointments etc. This was all done through vetassess. To be honest I found it all very very stressful getting the info together but the actual technical interview wasn’t to bad . My struggle has been to pass the English test, but I finally got it recently, just had to write a commitment statement as we are doing the 190 visa and get a bit more info together on the Northern Territory. I’m hoping to put my EOI in within a few days . Then the dreaded wait begins. i hope this has been a little bit helpful x
  5. Hi thanks for your reply, I’m really hoping I pass this time because I can’t possibly do any more revising than I’m doing ! I’m just not a academic person at all I’m definitely more hands on/practical. I’ve already passed both parts of my skills assessment, so this is really holding me up. Thanks for your comment ?
  6. Hi my problem is, i have sat the PTE academic test 3 times now and scored miserably in the speaking every time. I need band 7 or above in the ielts or 65+ in the PTE in all aspects which i have got 65+ all 3 times in the listening reading and writing. So i am sitting the ielts in a couple of weeks and hoping to get 7's or above to give me the extra 10 points i need for my 190 visa. To be honest i thought the Pte would be a better option for me with you having to talk to a microphone rather than a person, i thought it would be less nerve racking, but the truth is i found it really hard talking about graphs and retelling lectures etc. So my question is........ has anybody failed the pte speaking and found ielts alot easier ? what are your experiences? And any tips would be appreciated thankyou.
  7. Hi just looking for some advice please , I'm fairly new to the forum , so basically we have just started the process of getting all our documents together for our agent , scanning all the passports, birth certificates, marriage certificates , employment ref, and every thing else you do , we're applying for a 190visa on my hairdressing , I have 10 years work experience, so I qualify on the points front, I total up to 70 points but that's if I get 6 or above in all the ielts ( I'm a little nervous as not academic at all) my husband is a builder but he's not on the list. We have 2 kids , none of us have a criminal record at all. we are gonna start the process of selling our house here but as you can imagine nervous if we don't get the visa. Do you think we have a good chance ? Many advice or nice comments welcome TIA
