Aaaand my wife phoned Aus Highcommission this morning. She was given official standard reply “your visa fil number??.... your application is in process and our standard processing time is 12 months to 17 months, we will contact you via email for any updates.. thank you”...

He didnt let her speak or say anything. He was quick like a robot in his response. And only pause to hear file number. So, all we can do now is just wait and continue to wait emoji24.png

Yeah pretty much the same with me when I called. The guy was quite nice though but gave me the standard answer of processing time. I asked him what the sponsor status being approved means. He said on his end he can see it appearing to be sponsorship finalized but I should ignore that since it doesn't mean that the application has been finalized. Let's see what happens in the new year now

My wife (applicant) received an interview call on 05th October 2015. We were requested additional documents on the same day. Documents include applicant’s polio certificate, updated police certificate for both applicant and sponsor and two affidavits from Pakistan. We were able to submit it on 25th October. Since then, its been a painful wait. Its 300 days today ( 10 months on 22nd December). We are planning to call Aus Highcomission on wednesday. Its going to be a long weekend this weekend (25th is xmas, 26th is boxing day and 27th is additional day off) then two days and then again weekend plus monday is new years day. Im worried they will respond alot slower during this xmas and new years’ holidays. emoji58.png

Let me know if they give you anything other than the annoying standard reply when you call -_-

Ahan, btw what date did you submit your additional documents after interview? What additional documents did you submit? Did you apply from singapore or Pakistan?

Interview was on 6th November. Took me a while to submit additional documents; finally submitted everything on the 30th. They asked for two form 888, two affidavits from Pakistan, latest polio certificate for me (the applicant), updated police check for my husband (the sponsor - we had submitted his previous police check but that had expired in July), and an updated relationship statement from both of us. I applied from Karachi but got my interview call when I had moved to Singapore.

So whats her update? Did she get her visa yet? And what about yours? Your ImmiAccount status was approved right?

Yeah she did back in August but took her a little over 10 months as well. I honestly don't think it made any difference except that this is an option too if anyone wants to take it.

My status changed to approved either on Thursday or Friday since it wasn't there when we last checked on Wednesday. I guess it's a waiting game once again

    @AsimMalik

hey. my husband was officially authorised for any correspondence with the hig commision. when i got no reponse for some time i mailed the highcommision through my email asking abt the status. i got a reply that only authorised person's queries are going to be answered. But after that email i had my interview call in 2 weeks. SO i cant say it was bcz of my email or the call was just suppose to be made in that week.

That's quite strange. My husband is the authorised contact but I've emailed them a few times myself and I've always received a reply, even if it's just a standard reply. But I've usually kept him copied in those emails so that could also be the reason they replied to me. Not sure if it'll work the same way with agents though. My friend some time back just changed the authroised contact from the agent to herself when she felt there was a delay in communication reaching her because of the agent. But this is some months back

  7. what does the status 'approved' in front of the sponsor's name mean? that's all it's showing on his ImmiAccount and there's no longer a link to upload attachments. On my account though I can still see assessment in progress. I think this is a recent change because when we logged in last to submit additional documents it kept appearing as submitted next to the sponsor's name.

Somebody give me something good to go by please :S

We lodged it through a solicitor in sydney. Its been almost 10 months and we are getting a bit impatient as i am visiting my wofe and have one month to return and was hoping to have her visa before i go back to ozz. I asked my agent to send CO an email about update and he is resisting as it willhave a negative impact on your case (which seems a weird excuse) and now im worried if i send an email myself without getting agent involved then im worried CO might think why me and why not agent himself.. im just confused and worried and regretting my decision of hiring a solicitor and not applying it myself.. its going to be 300 days from date of application in 5 days. I applied on 22nd February 2017.

Yeah that seems like a weird reason that it'll have a negative impact on your case. I don't understand why that would happen. I wrote a very detailed email explaining my situation which my husband thought made it sound like I'm begging for my visa so we toned it down a bit but gave them all the facts and requested for an update, if any. I'm still not hopeful of getting an update (other than the standard reply) but at least we tried

Did you lodge your visa yourself or via agent?
What email address did you send it to?

I lodged it myself through ImmiAccount. We just replied on the email the CO had sent. There were two email addresses in it - one for the Islamabad embassy and one was correspondence @ border (i'm somehow unable to type in the complete email address).

I basically emailed them that we have uploaded all required documentation and I'm now being considered for a transfer from my office in Singapore to my office in Australia so need to see if they have any update for me. It's a long shot but we thought it made sense to at least try. If they ask for some proof for what I'm claiming about my job then I have that as well. We addressed the email to the CO - wrote his name and his position number.

Let's see if we get a reply or not. My PCC is expiring end of January so just trying our luck here now

    Thank you! ?

The initial entry date is 11 March 2018. Apparently this is to do with the medical which is only valid for 1 year. My husbands medical was done in March so that makes sense.

I submitted all docs on 21/11 and it took a couple of weeks. So can’t be long to go now for you. Good luck!!  ?

Haha my medical is expiring in May but my PCC is expiring end of January so I'm hoping that might get me a faster grant :P

All the best with your new life! :)

    Hi everyone

    Timeline as follows:

    Applied: 20 March 2017

Interview + Further Docs requested: 14 Nov 17

    Visa granted: 5 December 2017

Good luck to the rest of you. Hopefully you all get the grants soon. ?

    Hey Hiba,

Many congrats on the grant :) Can you let us know what's the initial entry date given? I applied almost the same time as you but submitted the additional information requested just last week but your post gives me hope :P

  12. Hi guys. Quick question - when we log into the sponsor's immi account on the documents page it says 0 received but shows green ticks where we had uploaded the documents. The application status appears as submitted. On my account I can see the documents uploaded under the sponsor's name. The application status appears as assessment in progress. What's this I hear about sponsor status changing and everything? This is quite strange

just came to know that there must b a relationship more than 2 years before marriage.. there is a chance of rejection of spousal visa????

I know a person who got her visa within 7 months of lodgement. She had a proper arranged marriage, had a Nikah in September and got her visa by March even before her rukhsati. And this is as recent as March 2017 so there is no such thing of having a relationship more than 2 years. We're all a little on the edge because the process is taking too long but let's not worry about things that aren't to be worried about.

Let's just hope and pray all of us get our visas soon :)

U R AN AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN OR UR HUSBAND IS ..

BECAUSE U SAID UR HUSBAND IS AN APPLICANT.

I HVE SUBMITTED MY CASE THRU THE AGENT BUT I AM NOT SATISFIED FROM HIM. I DONT KNOW IF I CANT PULL MY CASE OUT FROM HIM . WILL IT CHANGE THE  POSITION OF MY APPLICATION OR NOT .  ANY EFFECT ON APPLICATION NUMBER , QUE OR TIMELINES????

Hey maria - when did you lodge your application? I first heard from them after almost 9 months and that too straight to the interview and then a request for more information. I was as frustrated as you but seems it's standard protocol now to not hear anything for so long

All the best with your process!

Hello Everyone. I got my Visa grant today. I have a question they've given me time till January for my first entry. Have you ever heard of anyone asking them to extend this? Has it ever worked?

Congratulations on the grant. I know of a friend who emailed to get the entry date extended. They extended it by a month for her. Not sure if it's recommended doing so or not though. Can you let us know your complete timeline?

  16. Hi guys - I got my interview call today. Lasted for about 15 mins with general questions about the relationship, financial support, if I knew anything about his weekend routine, his job routine, what sort of house does he live in, if I could name any of the friends he lives with, what our future plans are, what is our next travel plan. I believe it was just to see how well I knew my husband.

They told me over the phone about some additional documentation required and emailed the same later. They've asked for two forms 888s, two statutory declarations from people in Pakistan, an updated police check for my husband, and a polio vaccination certificate for me.

Just a question - does the status on ImmiAccount change to information requested after this? Do I just need to upload documents on ImmiAccount? How will I be able to confirm if they have received it?

well ! in sponsor visa you will b unable to extend  and that is for sure . i hve applied visit visa  and its 2 months now and still waiting to get the approval of it.

I don't want to extend it though since I have limited leaves left from work now. I'll be submitting a letter from my work highlighting my leaves and all and even my apartment lease so they know that i will come back until my spouse visa isn't granted. I just hope I get it. Tourist visa processing times are much shorter so I'm not sure what the delay is :/ But a friend applied for a tourist visa some time back it took her 8 weeks to get it. Maybe that's a norm these days :/
