  1. Sorry I think I didn't express myself properly. Both she and I have the exact same address on our CNICs. That address is of a house we used to previously live in. We now live at a different address but have not changed our CNICs yet to reflect that change. This new address is the one we filled in our visa applications.
When we use our CNIC in Pakistan for various government requirements etc., no one cares if our address on the card is different to what we've filled in on their forms. The question is will DIBP care?

Oh in that case, you will be ok. Just prepare any proof of your move from old address to respond if asked about it.
  2. My wife and I have an address on our CNIC that is not our current residential address. So the address we filled in the form (which is our actual address) is different to our CNICs. Does anyone here have a similar case? Did DIBP raise an issue with that?

Yes, it will be an issue. Having the same residential address on NIC means you both share a house or she stays at the same place in Pakistan where you live when you travel. You should have or i should say “must” change the residential address and make it same for both of you when you apply a new NiC with you as her husband.. im sure you applied for a new NiC after you change her marital status in Nadra’s records, didnt you?
  3. Hey guys. My husband lodged his application in Karachi in Nov 2017. He still hasnt been asked to do his medicals. Should we contact AHC? I sent an email and got an automated reply. What email address do they actually reply to? Pls help.

Based on current average, normally one should expect any progress or interview call between 6 to 8 months after the date of lodgement. Your husband’s application is only been lodged two months ago, so you might have to wait.
  4. Hi everyone,

My wife recently got her partner visa subclass 309, she landed yesterday, so along with our planning for a future together, we are hoping to do everything by the books and be ready for subclass 100. We will be eligible to apply for subclass 100 on 22nd February 2019. I have plenty of questions and confusion about it.

    1) applicant got her 309 visa with help of an immigration agent. He got the immi account through which she got her visa. Now, if we decide to apply the subclass 100, can we do it ourself? Do we need to create a new immi account or it will go through the same immi account??

    2) we submitted Form 888 with our sublcass 309 application, will it be used for subclass 100 too? What if we want to use different Form 888 for next stage?

    3) we had a joint bank account for 309 visa, she is here in Australia now, do we need to have a joint account here too? Also having her on a rental lease as a partner helps? Sharing bills under her name?

We will highly appreciate if anyone can answer these questions,

    Regards,

    Asim

  6. Hello Guys,
I have a question regarding my visa application.
In the SPONSOR section of immi account, I can see that the sponsor application status has been changed to 'APPROVED' and we can not attach any further documents.
Is it an indication that partner visa will be granted soon?
    Please let me know. Thanks.

In a couple of days, you will get grant.

    What is your timeline?
  7. i  dont know y they are reluctant to reply...  calling them is helpful for a case or not ...  though i know that they do have the standard reply but still is it good for a reminder or not.. confused  and disappointed.

It is complicated, mostly reminders help when case officers have already made up their mind and are holding final verdict for some reason. But mostly they will take their standard average time regardless of how many reminders you give unless your case is fairly straight forward. I have seen people (including me) of giving them reminders and still no progress and have seen people calling once or emailing once and get their visa grants instantly. It is just not easy to say. I have also noticed, privately made applications directly by applicants without involving agents are processed faster and kind of given first priority. So its just complicated.
  8. HAVE YOU CALLED THEM TO ASK OR REMIND?

They got an automatic reply, telling you the average processing time as well as telling you to call if your wait is over the given standard time. And if you continue to stay on the phone to talk to someone, it just keeps ringing and no one picks it up. Email’s the best bet, but they reply after 7 days with a standard response of official processing time and that you will be contacted if need be.

Im close to 11 months now and no response whatsoever.

  9. Hi Guys,

I just had an interview with AHC Islamabad. The call went for approximately 50 mins. So here is my updated timeline.

Applied for: Partner Visa Subclass 309.

    Processing Location: AHC, Islamabad.

Date of Lodgement: 11th April 2017.

All Documents Uploaded: 18th April 2017.

Additional Documents Requested: 03rd January 2018.

Additional Documents Provided: 10th January 2018.

Date of Interview: 12th January 2018.

    Visa Grant: Not Yet.

Great, what additional docs were requested by case officer on 3rd Jan?
  10. Please keep in mind one thing more. If immigration have given you 28 days they want the required documents to be received by them before the expiry of 28 days.
What happened to me, I deposited my documents for visa 143 through post 10 days earlier than the expiry date. It did not reach to them within that period, though non fault of me but my visa was refused. I had to go in the appeal thus wastage of time and money therefore This my request to you is, to ensure your documents reach with in time period to avoid complications.

Uploading documents online takes 10 seconds. You can literally upload it 1 minute before the deadline and they will receive it. I guess you’re referring to your case where a paper application must have been involved. Posting docs via mail takes time and they clearly advise you to send docs keeping the postage timings in mind. Anyway all the best.
  11. That's good advice, thanks very much Asim.

If you have already provided all the docs, case officer will have everything he needs to process the application faster. If he has to request missing docs, he/she will tell you and then give you 28 days to submit and your application goes back in queue and he/she works on other applications. This slows the processing. Exactly what happend to us.

My wife got interview after 8 months, and then all the missing docs were requested. Ittook us 25 days to prep all the docs and upload them. And we are still waiting afterwards, as i guess we are back in the queue. Its been almost 11 months now. So my advise, provide all additional docs in advance to not repeat the mistakes we did.

I wish you all the best. And pray for us too.
  12. We applied for my wife's 309 visa on 30th June 2017 in Pakistan. We got an acknowledgement email the day after as well as instructions to do PIDs. Since then, we have had no other correspondence from them - not even for Medicals or Police Checks.

Has anyone here applied after June 2017 from Pakistan? Did you get asked for Medicals/Police Checks?
A few friends of mine who applied last year got an email from someone in Islamabad AHC with a list of Pakistan-specific requirements. That included affidavits from Pakistani residents who know about your relationship, Nadra FRC, etc. My wife did not get that email. Did anyone else get such an email?

You normally receive that request after an interview call. Mostly people are getting interview calls between 6 to 8 months from the DoL. so you might receive a call soon and they might ask additional docs afterwards. I will advise you to upload everything before you are even asked, specially two affidavits from Pakistan and Nadra’s FRC. You can get your medical done without a request, and you can get police certificates too. Just get all of it done and upload it.
  13. Yeah the interviewer required further proof on contact while apart, which just means some call logs and screenshot.

Yet to receive the email from them

You will receive it by the end of the day. Interviewer told my wife at the end about additional docs and said he will send an email about it. And we waited n waited and it came by 4:30 pm local time while interview was at 10:30 am.

    So hang in there..
