Sorry this isn’t a post with any good news but more of a wondering what anyone here are doing about their planned moving date?
We planned to go in September to tie in with a wedding and now we’re really not sure what to do. Weighing up whether to stick with September or push back to November time (really want to get there by November so we can sort schools out before the summer hols start). I’m a teacher and have to give my notice in by May 31st so really need to make a decision.

Hi with the form 888 the ones filled out in the U.K were done following rules for witnessing a document in the U.K. so a friend had her document witnessed by a friend who is on the occupations list. Hope that makes sense.

I’m assuming your looking at the attach document part of your immi account? We looked through each document heading and then made a list of the things we wanted to attach that were relevant to that document heading.

@K-Man can I ask what your RFI’s we’re for?

Congratulations! So good to hear you’ve been granted your visa.
We submitted about 6 weeks after you so everything crossed we hear something in the next couple of months.- 1

At the moment it seems they are giving you a year to enter Australia from the date your visa is granted. Applications from the U.K seem to taking around 10-12 months but this could all change given the current world situation.

Hi, I’ve no news on visa grants but I did notice today (on my daily immi check) that processing time has changed to 13-21 months.
The fact that have adjusted processing times slightly, gives me hope the department is still moving along albeit slowly. -
Congratulations!! This is so good to hear!

I agree, we’ve not seen any grants here for a couple of weeks. I wonder if when everything’s calms a little it’ll pick up again?

We're in a slightly odd position in that I'm a citizen by descent, and because I haven't lived in Australia recently, our child does not qualify for citizenship/a passport yet. I grew up overseas, but my parents moved back a while ago, and they and my wider family all live in Australia now!
I see. Could you be in Australia before the birth - would that give the child automatic citizenship?
It might be worth starting a separate post to gain some advice from one of the migration agents on this site?

Can anyone with a recent grant, who also had a child whilst waiting for the visa to process, please tell me what happened with regard to that child being added to the application? Was the child included in the visa grant or were you expected to get a further/new visa for the child? We’ve added our baby via the “change in circumstances” paperwork but it’s unclear what would then happen.
Presumably you or your partner is an Australian citizen and so you would just need to apply for their citizenship once they are born. They wouldn’t need a visa.

I had the same thing. I had my medical at Knightsbridge doctors in London and they didn’t need the letter just my passport.

Great, thank you!
We’ve done the online application so just making sure everything is uploaded.

Hi, just triple checking all our documents are attached and for my husbands sponsorship part it recommends form 40SP. When I have searched for the 40SP it brings up a different form or takes me to the online application.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of Form 40SP?

HI everyone
Straw poll if I may.....
So we still have no visa news but based on the recent March grants we are desperately hoping ours will come in the next few weeks (we applied 1st April). I am flying out to Oz at the weekend (on my own) for 2 weeks to visit family and attend job interview (already been offered the job but I won't accept it until I've been to visit). Also planning on visiting schools, real estate agents etc etc
I went into our local estate agents last week to enquire about getting our house on the market when I got back. Agent said they had someone in mind who would be interested in buying it and at first I thought "oh here's the sales pitch" but I agreed to one viewing before I went. Viewing went well and the buyer has just put in an offer that's reasonable BUT wants/needs to move in within the next 6-8 weeks. ARRGGHH!
We knew we were likely to end up in a rental anyway in the short term so that's not the issue (although it'll be an expense and a faff to move twice) I'm just paranoid that if the visa gets rejected we'll be left homeless! There's no reason it would; we've been married 16 years got 2 kids and passed our police checks and medical...i'm just not the gambling type and this makes me feel nervous.
So my question to all you folks in the same queue as us is what would you do?
Thanks for your input.
I’d be tempted to take the offer. As much as they might want/need to move in 6-8 weeks even the simplest of chains can take longer than this.
Would it be easy enough to get back on the property ladder should the absolutely worst happen (which seems incredibly unlikely)?

Hey @lepea that's correct; it's all done and you don't have to upload anything. I'm not a professional, but that's generally a good sign that things can progress forward. Good luck!
Thanks, I’ve not had an RFI for my medical just thought I’d get the ball rolling and hoping for this magic 10 month time frame .
Annoyingly my husband has had an email back from afp check stating that his birth certificate is only an extract and not full so we’re trying to get that sorted before it becomes an RFI.

There have been some suggestions that sponsors will need to be approved before applicants can apply.

Well guys today was the day I received my email to leave Australia so that they can process my grant. I almost don't believe it but am so utterly relieved. 50 weeks of one of the most stressful times of my life. I think I need to let it sink in as I think I'm a little shell shocked lol
I was down to the wire, heading back to the UK on holiday on the 14th then back to kick start my new life properly this time.
Thank you so much for all the help and advice from everyone it really helped out in the dark times.
This is fantastic news! Congratulations.
I have my medical booked for next week.

No grants but at least the Global Processing times have gone down. I was dreading looking because I was expecting them to go up! Gives me a teeny bit of hope lol.
Is this the processing time for 309/100? My immi account is still showing 16-20 months

Just wanted to jump on here, add the start of our journey and ask a question.
Submitted application on the 6th September. Uploaded all documents necessary apart from form 80 and 1221 (a hectic start to the school year plus sick kids). I’m just working through the forms and I’m wondering if there is an easier way instead of printing them, filling them in, scanning and attaching as documents? Seems like a lot of work for very repetitive questions.
TIA

That’s really good to know! Thanks.

Sounds likes the most realistic plan. We’ve been living in the uk for 9 years so we’re both ready to get to Australia!
We’re looking at the travel exemption but there’s still no guarantee with our flight.
