Hi - I am a secondary school teacher also who teaches history. I applied for my 189 visa on 20/03 and still waiting for a grant! I'm heading to WA.
We want to head to wa to! Have to be honest it's a little stressful all the paper work! I'm hoping once I pass this English test and get all my forms signed it's plain sailing!
Good luck hope you get it soon

Quick question I've taught for 4 years now but not up to 18 year olds just 16 years does that matter?

Yeh I'm a maths secondary teacher, just starting to get everything together! Well actually I need to pass my English test first! I'm going through and agent and they said you need all documents certified by someone does that mean even if they have official stamps on them?

My tip for the reading is don't infer anything. Only put down answers that are explicitly stated. There often seem to be two correct answers but usually only one is written down in black and white, and the other is inferred from the text. Another tip is to concentrate really hard during the listening as it seems so easy and your mind can wander, or you start reading ahead to see the next question and you miss the answer for the current question - this almost happened to me, and did happen to my brother and he had to resit as he needed all 8s. For the writing, try avoid colloquialisms as they are often grammatically incorrect in the context used (e.g. in my test I signed off the personal letter "send OUR love to the family" but signed if from only from myself only so used the wrong pronoun).
Cheers for that really appreciate all the help I can get! Congratulations on your visa grant! Have you moved over already? And if so what part?

Yeh need to get an 8, I've practiced a bit but not that much yet! I'm finding the reading bit difficult when you have to say given, not given or false! Well done on your score! Would love to score a 9 lol! Best get practicing! ?

Hi @joeh99 thanks for replying to me, sorry to ask another question when you do the exam it is on paper isn't it and how strict are they on what you put? What I mean is I've done the online test and for example I put as my answer 'she's working' and it's marked wrong as it says I should have put 'she is working'? Will they really penalise me for that? Thanks

In hindsight, I would have submitted all of my documents when I lodged my visa. I defo feel like my case has taken longer. I lodged my visa on 21/03 and finalised medical/PCCs on 15/04.
Hi I see you scored well in your IELTS! I'm really worried about the reading aspecially the reading when you have to say true, not true or not given! Any tips? Have my test on the 29th July!
Hope you get your visa very soon
Cheers

Hi all,
We have today had our medicals uploaded and no further action needed . We have uploaded our police check certificates and submitted the additional information that was requested by our CO. So now I guess the wait begins for them to get back to us for more info or if we will get our visa granted :err:. Has anyone else submitted and are waiting to hear back? Here's hoping it isn't too longer wait to find out the outcome!

Hi when did you get your visa granted? Was it long after you submitted?

Hi I'm just after some advice,
I'm a UK registered nurse and I've booked my IELTS for July, following that I'll do my ANMAC skills assessment and then put in my EOI for the 189.
My question is, will my partner automatically go onto my visa or do I have to do a separate partner visa? And would he also have to have a medical etc?
I want to do as much as I can to speed the process up.
We're hoping to move out in Summer 2018.
Thanks
Zoe
Hi I have to sit those English tests too IELTS but do I book the general training or the academic?
Or does anyone know that has done the tests? I'm a secondary school visa and just starting my application

I will definitly do some practice test then! Grammar is not my best skill I must say! And the listening sounds complicated!
Congrats to your husband passing! Hope it's plain sailing from here. Let me know how you get on with it all.

Hi I have my ielts in a couple of weeks and saw you just missed out on 8 on all! How frustrating. Did you find the Pte exam? Much better?
