This is why they tell you not to do police checks and medicals until they are requested, to give you as long possible for validation. First entry date is based on the earlier of the two (pcc and medica) not on processing time.

Actually thats exactly what we did.. we completed our medicals and pcc only after CO requested for it. The request came in on 10th april and we completed both medicals and pcc by 19th april and have been waiting since then. So it seems like nearly 4 months from the 12 months have already gone...

  2. Does anyone know someone who has received their grant recently and how much time they were given to make their first entry into Aus? I heard that it is 12 months from the date of Medicals/ PCC....  but, I was wondering if they have extended this time period, since a large chunk of that is already eaten up in the processing wait period!  I'm beginning to get really nervous.  We had originally planned that once we receive the grant, we would take some time to wind up here, and then make the move once and for all. But if, the first entry needs to be made really quick we may just have to go for a short trip and then return to wind up things here. I was really hoping to avoid that scenario as it will definitely add up to the expenses ...

    Hi Nelly,

Any news of recent PR grants this July? Thanks a lot.

    Hi Liz,

There have been only 12 grants recorded in the tracker for July 2017 so far.......and only 2 of these have lodgement dates of 2017.  Remaining 10 were lodged in 2016 !   I hope things pick up in August!

Same as you I think Nelly.  Going out of my mind. We'll be 6 months next week.  I'm running out of ways to freak out about it all! Never in a million years thought we'd be waiting 6 months and beyond...

When we lodged the application in March... I was secretly hoping for a direct grant   :P  and was already feeling detached from my current job.  Now, I've got myself back into neck deep work... got to have something to keep my mind off all this waiting...!

Processing time has increased to 9 months for 190s.  Happy Monday.....

omg!  This is just so frustrating. I can't stop thinking about it. There is so much that we have planned around the whole visa thing...    I wake up every morning wondering if today is going to be the day. It's been almost 4 months since we lodged our application.      I had really expected a big number of grants in July. How are you all coping?

Stay in there guys. I have to admit it was the most painful wait ever. 13 weeks & 2 days from lodging but finally when it came through I almost died. I'm still in shock and don't know what to do with myself now, we have to wait 3 months to go due to work but when it comes honestly there's no better feeling. Be aware everything has slowed down as skilled migration quotas are near max. Wishing all of you a grant email next week ???

Congratulations @Dragonflygecko !! It must feel terrific to receive the grant.. thanks for the encouraging words.. its really getting so difficult to stay calm ☺ still checking my email and visa account every single day ? any idea, whether things will pick up in june? I mean..about the quota limits... ?  Wish you the best with the next steps.

What a surprise! I just got an invitation from ACT just like 10mins after post here!

Now I can finally apply for PR through Skillselect as you said above.

So you guys were talking about the one step ahead of me haha now I got it.

How long do people usually expect to get their PR granted after apply for it with nomination?

    Many thanks,

Congratulations Cowact! All the best with the visa application.

Thanks Nelly, that's what I thought so it makes me more nervous day by day haha.

By the way, I've seen many people, such as Marwan above, waiting for 190 nomination mentioning immi account.

Do we need to create immi account for 190? in ACT we dont need to and just creat EOI through skill select.

And as far as I know that the only online website we can check our process.

How do you guys check visa process and what the immi account for 190 about?

Cowact, I think Marwan has already lodged the visa application and is checking status in immi account.    I can share the process that I'm aware of and which was instructed by by agent. I lodged an EOI in SkillSelect and received the invite for NSW 190 nomination in Skillselect. After applying for the nomination and receiving an approval I got the 190 visa invite in SkillSelect. Next, as I understand, my agent lodged the 190 visa application and I am now able to see all the details in immi account. Documents have been uploaded in immi account and one can track status here...

    Hi guys,

    1. Just want to confirm with you guys about 'Processing time' that each state claims - ACT 8wks, VIC 12wks, NT 3wks, etc.

Is this the period of time after 'Visa lodgement date' or 'Case officer assignment date'?

    2. I applied for ACT nomination on 28 Mar and got CO assigned on 1 May and still no contact from CO 'at all'.

I guess it is because of my current visa status (graduate visa which requires medical and pcc), but even if CO can access to my docs uploaded on DIBP server, it takes too long (9wks).

Is there anyone in same situation with me?

    Thanks heaps in advance!

    Hi Cowact,

As far as I know, it is the period of time from 'Visa lodgement date'....

    Hi darragh,

Well... that's good, once the police checks and medicals are done, you v'e pretty much completed the whole thing. Then there is nothing much left to do, except wait. I'm still in the same state... waiting. Uploaded the final docs on 19th April. I hope we start seeing some action in June...

  13. I will share my timeline too.... once I get my grant :)

@Yikes2017  Some with lodged date of Feb still awaiting their grants. It doesn't seem to be processed in a sequential manner. I wonder what criteria is used by the Case officers for picking up cases to process?  And things seemed to have slowed down just a bit .... only 6 grants in the month of May so far.   I'm hoping it picks up soon....

Hi all, I applied for a 190 to Victoria on 1st Feb.  All docs uploaded by the end of March.  Been waiting 16 weeks this Wednesday! Hoping everyday to wake up to the email I want to see!

Hi @Yikes2017  ..... do you mean 16 weeks from the visa lodged date? well I guess it should be any day now....all the best to everyone on this forum. Will be interesting to hear from each of you as the grants start to come in  :-)

    Hi Nelly,

I'm expecting to move to Adelaide by the end of July upon receiving the visa grant letter. First myself to look for a proper job and accommodation and then my family.

    FYI: I keep checking my immiaccount 5 times a day!!! :-) :-) :-)

Aaah.. glad to know, I'm not the only one checking immiaccount several times a day!  :D    Well, we are planning a similar kind of setup ... husband goes first to look for a job and accommodation and then we follow. I'm also planning to speak to my current boss about the possibility of keeping my job and asking for a new role in our Organization's overseas branch... there is one in Sydney. Chances seem slim, but I'm going to give it a shot. If the answer is no, I'll just have to look for a job once I get there. Phew! Things are so fluid and up in the air.... just waiting till all of it settles and takes some shape. This waiting period is not easy at all...

Darragh,  I'm in the software industry and my husband works in Retail (retail of FMCG goods, and also has good experience in the Food & beverage industry). We are thinking, that there would be higher chances of finding work faster in his area, than it would be for me. So, decided that he go first.

Glad for you... with the construction boom, it should be quite easy to get something. It's a relief if you know that there is ample work in your line of work!

    Hi Nelly,
I lodged mine on 16th May. I would also love to hear from different people about the big move to Australia. Hoping to make the move Sept time all being well with the visa maybe I'm being little to optimistic as the visas sometimes take a bit longer than that.

Where are you hoping to move to? I'm hopefully moving to Sydney on 190 visa.

    Hi darragh,

We are also hoping to move to Sydney.....on a 190 visa.  All going well, the plan is - my husband will move first and once he settles in (job, house and all), me and the kids will follow. The whole thing is overwhelming.. especially since we will be moving there and then looking for jobs  :/  but we are excited at the same time !   I lodged the  visa application on 31st march .....

It's difficult to gauge the estimated date.  Some have got their grants within 5-8 weeks and for others it took longer. I'm just hoping it's soon and we can begin the moving process in June !  :D   optimistic maybe.

May I ask, what profession are you in?
