We also applied for spouse visa on 13th April and haven't received an interview call. I've contacted the department on a few occasions for any information or status update but they just give the standard response.
My wife also applied for visitor visa on 23rd October but still havent received any interview call for this visa as well.
Not sure what has happened to immigration. It never used to be this bad before. It just gets worse and worse every year.

Hi everyone,
Just a quick question. Approximately what time does AHC call for an interview? Is there a certain time period during the day? like mornings?

@panda286 I HVE LODGE MY APPLICATION THRU AGENT ON 28-04-17. ALL DOCUMENTS HAS BEEN SUBMITTED.
MEANWHILE,
VISIT VISA HAS BEEN REFUSED AFTER 3 MONTH OF VISIT VISA APPLICATION.
Why did they refuse you visit visa after making you wait for that long? Did they give you an explanation?

no email as yet..
date of interview for visit visa; 19th oct

same day i had done a query call.
on 6th nov i have called again and they said he decision has been done and will be shared soon.
but no email .
pathetic response
What visa did they say they have made the decision for? Did they tell you anything about visit as well?
WIsh you all the best. Hopefully you get it very soon.

hi!
well i hve applied my visit visa on 28-aug-17
acknowledgment email received on 19-sep-17.
bio metric is mandatory and done within 2 days after application logged.
still waiting for the approval .
what type of visa is applied by ur wife.. visit or partner????
She has applied for partner visa already and done all the biometric requirements. She has applied for visit visa last week. So she has to do the biometrics again for visit when she has already done it for the partner visa?
-
Hi Maria,
My wife applied on 13 April 2017 and we still haven't heard a peep from immigration. No contact whatsoever.
When you applied for visit visa, did they ask you to do biometrics again? Did you redo it?

My only concern by looking at the Excel sheet that we all maintain is that i think they Grant Visas in certain months like January, March, July and Sep/Oct. But on the other side the average time is 10 months so Fingers Crossed
We are planning to have our baby here so that we do not have to apply for Child Visa. I will attach a letter from hospital to see if that can soften Case Officer's Heart
Yeah man i realised that as well. I think there are certain time periods and grant limits with immigration. Some people are lucky to get it early. It all depends on the case officer as well. I hope everyone in this forum waiting gets their visa very soon.
Immigration has caused enough mental torture on everyone

Hello Everyone
Below is the timeline for our Spouse Visa
Date of Lodgement: 10th January 2017
PCC and Medical: 18th January 2017
3 months Family Sponsored Tourist Visa Granted
Travel dates: 12 May 2017 to 5th August 2017
6 months Family Sponsored Tourist Visa Applied: 11th September 2017
Interview Date for Spouse Visa: 12th September 2017
Additional Document: My Australian Police check as i am the sponsor. 2 Statuary Declarations from people in Pakistan
Documents Submitted: 18th September 2017
Tourist Visa Refused on 12th October: Reason wife will not go back. Stupid decision as she already came and went back on time. It was a Family Sponsored visa and he should have asked for a Bond. Also applicant has to leave country any ways if on tourist visa ( if spouse visa is finalized)
Update on Spouse Visa: 10th October
Case Officer: Muhammad
Actively working on the case
Our first baby is due in February and I will try to push them to Grant it within next 6 weeks. My wife will not be able to travel after mid-Dec as it is not safe. Hopefully we will get our Spouse Visa because Child Visa is another 8-10 months wait
Will keep Everyone Posted
Hope Everyone gets their visa soon
Hi Saad,
When did you apply for the 3 months visit visa? And after how long was it granted? Did they ask for bond as well for the first visa?
Hope you get the spouse visa soon

hello!
i need to get an update i have applied for partner visa(australia) on 28-April 2017 and as per immiacount the status is in assessment process. please tell me how long will it take for pakistan.. all documents are updated online.
plus how long it take to respond for tourist visa as i have submited the application on 28-Aug-17
on 19-sep-17
i got an email that my application is under consideration . but no response after that. i am still waiting for the news ...
the guidelines will be highly appriciated
Hi Maria,
Did you submit your tourist/visit visa online on immiaccount? Like you did with the partner visa?
I was informed by immigration office in Sydney that it usually takes about 4-6 weeks for visit visa from Pakistan to be processed, so fingers crossed you get a response very soon. However, if you have applied for partner visa at the same time, they can decline/hold the process for visit visa if the decision to be made for partner visa is very close. In saying that, they will give you a response for partner first before the visit.
My wife also applied on 14 April 2017 and by the looks of the long processing time period for partner visa, i might apply for visit so she can come here.

@arham786 No offense, i am confused, as whom should we believe what they tell on call or the website, As per website, one should be outside Australia
FYR http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/309-
Yes, like i said you have to be offshore to get the grant. But my point was that being onshore does not affect the spouse visa decision. If you are onshore for a visit they will tell you to leave the country first before giving the grant

well @ayesha visit visa takes around 48-63 days.
keep in mind that decision on your partner visa is affected, as visa 309/300 is offshore.
I contacted the department of immigration in Sydney few weeks ago and they informed me that visit visa has nothing to do with spouse visa. It will definitely not effect the decision. However, when it comes time for the spouse visa decision to be made and if the applicant is onshore for visit, it depends on how the offshore immigration inform you. The process varies from country to country. I have seen in forums that when the applicant comes here on visit, AHC usually sends a letter to get offshore and sends the grant in a couple of days.. They cannot reject the spouse visa mainly because you are onshore.

We applied for my Wife's visa in June 2016 and it was issued in January this year. That includes us delaying the medical due to a 3 week holiday being taken. We did it ourselves and found the process painless and simple, provided you complete the forms properly and have all the supporting information needed it is a very easy process. The only problems were receiving a response to emails when we were wanting to get updates.
Where did you apply from? Grant in 7 months is pretty quick

Hi Arhan,
Both the partner visa and the visitor visa are mutually exclusive where one visa does not affect the other. However I have read of cases where the applicant was in Australia during the last few months of the processing period, and the finalization of the partner visa was delayed until the applicant left Australia.
This may be the only risk for you since by the time your wife enters Australia in January, 9 months would already have passed since lodgement. So answering your question, if she is in Oz at the time of the decision, they will not reject it. They will just notify your wife to go offshore.
Thank you Butterfly

Guys i have a question. My wife recently applied for spouse visa mid April last month. I will go Pakistan in December this year and i want to bring her back with me mid January next year on visit visa. Im not sure if this will affect the spouse visa decision if it hasnt been processed already. If she is here at the time of their decision will they reject it or send a letter to go offshore? Not sure if its a major risk or not and if its worth taking.
Any inputs will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi butterfly
Thanks for sharing your timeline. The same thing happened to my sponsor status as well which says now approved... Please do share your visa update with us here. I live in Australia as a citizen now but my wife is in Pakistan.
Hi Syed,
When was your application date? Also other dates such as medical and biometric if they have been completed

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to ask a question. Does rukhsati matter for the approval of visa application? i have heard recently that immigration is declining/delaying applications because the applicants haven't done rukhsati. I always thought this was never a problem until now.
Timeline (309-Spouse visa) applied in May?

Hi,
1) NIC and passport are not enough. The case officer will most probably ask you for an English birth certificate from NADRA. This is applied through the Union Council in your local area.
2) Polio Vaccinations can be done from any hospital or medical centres. From my knowledge, DIBP don't have specific authorised centres.
3) From my experience, it would be better for your supporting evidence if you and your wife wrote individual letters/affidavits addressing each of those points in detail. Yes, it can be hand written and signed. Also in the letter address how and where you met. Make sure both yours and your spouse's letter match in details. Case office will read it and ask questions from the letters in the interview.
4) If you are filling out the digital versions of forms 47SP and 40SP you will still need to write everything as you have for the forms.
5) They will require evidence for your family composition. We provided Family Registration Certificate from NADRA for proof of family tree. This is more than enough.
6) Forms 888 are for Aussie residents/citizens. They require 2x separate witness statements these days from Pakistan. Ask 2 people to fill out the forms who know both you and your partner, who know of the relationship (maybe attended the wedding) and make sure they write why they think your relationship is genuine. You can buy the statutory declaration forms from any printer/photocopier shops in Karachi. Get them to fill it out with the details and sign it. Then get it stamped and certified by one of the by a Judicial representative who usually sit outside these shops.
7) From what I remember, they don't upload much detail of the biometrics. They automatically send the data to DIBP once it's done.
8)That is your decision. My wife did her medicals 3 weeks after application submission. Don't wait too long. Why wait for the Case Officer to request it which will delay your process for no reason. You would want to make sure that when the officer assess the application, they have all the documents ready, otherwise you will go back and forth for a while.
Hope that helped!!
