  1. IT contractor, so no licence as far as I know.
  2. I haven't had a TSS offer, no. We were looking for TSS roles for him, but think perhaps I'll have more luck. We are waiting on a 190/189 visa but it's taking years so far, so we just wanted to get out there faster. Yes we know the TSS isn't perfect, but it's a stepping stone, hopefully! It would be more attractive if he could work contracting while I'm in an employed role because I could take something with a smaller salary if he could contract.
  3. Hi there. I’m considering applying for TSS, and I will include my partner in my application. He works as a contractor in the U.K. so I’m wondering, on my TSS visa, will he be able to work as a contractor? Or will he have to take an employee job? Thanks all.
  4. Hello, Looking to apply for the 190 in Tasmania with a positive skills assessment. I see that Marketing Manager is now on their list, and in this article it says 'no ceiling' but I've seen differing opinions. "Tasmania government committed to processing nomination for subclass 489/190 visas for no fee. Also, the government confirmed there would be no nomination ceilings applicable to state nominations received from 1 July 2018 and that students with no employment offers will be able to access the Tasmanian Skilled Occupations lists which had further occupations added on 6 August 2018 including: 131112 Sales and Marketing Manager" Source: https://www.easymigrate.com/new-occupations-added-state-lists-tasmania-south-australia/ Can anyone tell me a little more about the 190 situation in Tas? I run my own business and would want to continue to do so over there, so I wouldn't fit under the 'job offer' category - or would they consider my own business as job offer enough?? Thanks
  5. Hi, we have had an EOI in for 189 and 190. Just found out it's expired. Can anyone tell me what this means for waiting times. When we re-submit do we lose our place in the queue or does it carry on as if you've been waiting the whole time? I have 5 more points to add soon. Thanks.
  6. Yes, it's to add 5 extra points to my partner's visa which is in EOI queue at the moment.
  7. Hello, I'm doing a skills assessment as a Marketing Consultant so that my skills can add points to my partners 189/190 application. I wanted to ask if it's necessary for me to have the copies certified by a JP/similar or not? I'm collecting a huge amount of evidence; my degree, uni transcripts, letters from each of my employers, payslips, self employment evidence (contracts, letters from clients, self assessment tax returns). Now should I get them notorised like my partner did? Also, I know this seems silly, can they notorise print outs? I have some originals, like certificates, but quite a lot of my evidence has been downloaded from places, prev employers have signed and scanned letters back to me, etc... Are scanned docs acceptable? Thanks
  8. This is how our points look at the moment...
  9. Sorry all, my mistake, he got 20 points for IELTS
  10. Thanks Richard, Yes he already got his 5 points for IELTS, but thanks for thinking of it. We're down at 60 points at the moment as the assessing body took 6 years of relevant work exp in place of a relevant degree - so outside of that 6 years he has 2 additional years exp, we need it to get up to 3 years for extra 5 points, but that can only be added in April next year. So I'm guessing me adding 5 points with my skills is our best bet for now. Thanks so much for the answer, you've confirmed my suspicions
  11. Hello all! First-time poster here! I'm hoping to add an extra 5 points to our EOI currently submitted (long story but our migration agent just decided not to tell us there was virtually NO chance of us getting ITC Business Analyst visa with only 60 points...) I'm a marketing consultant, and so I'm going to do my own skills assessment with VETASSESS to get us some extra points. At 65 points we've been told we'll probably be invited within 7 / 8 months. What I'd like to know is whether an IELTS english test is necessary for this assessment? MY partner had to do one for extra points, but I don't know if I need to do one too to go along with my assessment in order for us to achieve the 5 points. If anyone has exp of this and can advise, that would be super helpful. Thanks all! Jen
