  1. It was a throwaway comment; nothing more, nothing less so it doesn't make me feel better or worse. I actually used to be a teacher at a dyslexic school so when I saw 'disfunctional', it stood out to me as I was so used to seeing the word 'dyslexic'. For the record, when I type in 'dislexic' and 'disfunctional' both words are underlined, once again highlighting the mistake to me.
  2. Are people who didn't spell dysfunctional dysfunctional? Google provides two definitions (hardly the world authority on word definitions but it's a starting point). The two definitions are: 'not operating normally or properly' and 'unable to deal adequately with normal social relations'. I think to define what is normal when it comes to a family relations is very hard to say and very subjective.
  3. Welcome! I'm in my early 40s and living with my (ever so slightly) older partner. Happy to meet up for a drink or two one weekend!
  4. I live in Noosa and travel frequently through Nambour to go to the hinterland. It does not have a good reputation. There are several boarded-up shops and few restaurants. It's a bit of a nightmare to park in too and it's generally run down. It does have a train station with direct connections to Brisbane. I believe it has a drug rehabilitation centre as well which does not help its reputation. Up the hill from Nambour is very pleasant and you will get the views from there with a wide choice of suburbs. As for price, I believe in the case of Nambour, you get what you pay for. With so much in new housing in and around Maroochydore (and the Sunshine Motorway heading up to Noosa), I would prefer to be closer to your hubby's work rather than having to cross over the Bruce Highway every day for work.
