That could be right though. The timeline says 75% of the applications processed after 9 months. It means some of them will be processed quicker.

Could be but not this case - the nomination was September 2016 and he has filled the spreadsheet in the wrong month.

Why have you withdrawn the visa application and lodged it again?

  4. @October 16 -- can you please provide me more information on : 'Also depending on your occupation your application can be processed before or after a certain DE application of the same month'

Like can you re-direct me to the link which talks about this please or any extra information you have? Many Thanks!

    Hi@Zee,

this is just an analysis that I did based on the spreadsheet and DIBP website (I can be wrong).

    - based on the website, they have a cap limit for every occupation. This means that if you are a "cook" they might have a cap limit of 10 (per financial year). Once 10 applications are granted and the cap limit is reached, you have to wait the following financial year.

    - Based on the above, while if you were "cook 11th application/April 2016" you have to wait next financial year, someone else who has a different occupation/same month (April 2016), for which the cap limit has NOT been reached yet, will be approved before "cook 11th application".

Please don't take my analysis as 100% correct.

  5. Hi all,

I've been a silent observer of this forum for the last couple of weeks as I approached the 6 month mark. I have just had the best news from my MA that my PR has been approved!!

    Nom Date: 27/09/2016

    Visa Date: 27/09/2016

    Approval: 16/03/2017

    Occupation: ICT Trainer

    I have updated the spreadsheet.

I had resigned myself to this taking at least another 3 months after seeing the new timelines that the department published yesterday so this came as a complete surprise.

Best of luck to the rest of you on each of your applications. I hope everyone else gets a successful response.

Time to go and get drunk... :)

    congratulations!!

  6. Guys i need another help. Whoever are here on regular basis for long time can u please update me the recent situation of direct entry stream???

Hi @Aussiepr, what do you need to know?

All we can say about DE is that it is not de-prioritized but because takes longer their are behind when compared to TR.

Also depending on your occupation your application can be processed before or after a certain DE application of the same month.

    What is your timeline?

  7. I got my good news on Saturday. The lady who called was extremely nice, she was in Perth and she informed me they were doing overtime. I have been very fortunate to get mine approved in approx 5.5 months. Lets hope they continue to do overtime in order to help clear the back log

Congratulations Irish83. what is you occupation?

  8. What scares me is the remaining "10% of total applications". Maybe this is why some people are still waiting from 2015.

Yes some visas timelines are just absurd, even if I understand that A - they are understaffed and B- they need to make sure every application meets all the requirements.

Based on this link, it looks to me that every year - financial year - there is a cap limit for 186 visas (in this case) for each occupation. And, if the cap for occupation "XXX" is reached for 2016 FY then we need to wait the following financial year.

  9. Thanks @jess6.

At least now we know that:

    - TR and DE are (apparently) two different queues.

    - If your occupation is "XXX" TR, then it will probably be approved before same occupation "XXX" but DE. This is because DE takes a bit longer due to the extra docs we need to provide (compared to TR).

    - If they are processing occupation "XXX" TR for September 16 maybe they are still processing February 16 DE for the same occupation "XXX"

Not sure if it makes any sense but trying to understand how the processing method works is the only way to manage my stress.

  10. The new processing times overwrite the previous ones. They are based on their recent observations so they apply to all of us here.

And they will be updated each month so they may increase or decrease.

I was not expecting more, I just wanted clarification between the visa streams and understand why some of my friends got approved before me.

At least now, I know why I am waiting and I have a clear answer.

I would recommend to manage your expectations and accept the news because if you don't you are going to drive yourself crazy.

Personally I expect to be processed in May/June to avoid the anxiety.

Were your friends same as you? DE, LR,1 person?

  11. What does he/she say? this is just so unfair.. I really hope the DIBP starts giving more information on the processing time.

Also I can see on the spreadsheet that there are few TR and DE still waiting from 2015 and beginning 2016..

@Badaich87 do you think the longer processing time for your application is due to the fact that you are HR? How long did your 457 visa take to be granted?

Sorry - so many questions. I am just trying to understand how the processing time works.
