So today marks 5 months - let's hope by 5pm tonight I'm able to dance a little jig :biglaugh:
-
haha Thank you, I've got everything crossed it's next week for you!
Haha you and me both. We fly to Oz for a holiday in 2 weeks so praying I can activate then and not rush back.
Brisbane is calling me though....
-
woow! Soooo cool!! Yay! Congratulations!! They are rolling in!!
Has everyone checked their emails?!
Yeah I've checked and also logged in - nothing on my immi account or emails.
Has your online status changed now then? Did it come through as an email from the embassy?
-
Great idea - Perhaps we should start a thread on the Queensland section and put the link on here
I think you're on to something with a new thread - there's definitely a few of us heading to QLD.
And no need to apologise, not your fault. Just think I'm close now, like a kid waiting for Xmas haha.

OMG I was granted my visa today!!!! Soooo happy and relieved :jiggy:
4 1/2 months so quicker than I expected. They requested medicals last week so I booked in asap and fast tracked police check. Medical was Wednesday, all clear Thursday and uploaded police check, visa grant Friday!
Our situation:
My husband is British and was finalising his permanent residency visa when we met so didn't have time to discuss it and add me on.
Met 3 years ago, became an 'official' couple when he moved in Dec 14, bought our house joint mortgage April 15, Got married September 15. Validated hubbys visa October 15 on our honeymoon. No children.
309 visa approved.
Good Luck to everyone and hope to see more visa grants very soon. Keep the faith x
Congrats. That's great news. Reckon you and Rhi had the same CO and they pulled their finger out.
Really strange for us three above who applied before you. No real order to today's proceedings.
-
September been forgotten clearly hahaha
-
I think they do work in date order roughly, but I think it also depends on what your situation is. I'm assuming the 3 month grant was a very straight forward case. I'll say this tho, there appears to be no rhyme or reason that is logical!!
Together over 2 years, have a daughter together. By their standards that meets criteria to go straight to permanent.
Just annoying, 5 months and no contact...
-
Whilst I'm happy for those getting the grants, it's very frustrating to be told the work in date order to then see grants to those who applied months after me.
3 months is unbelievably quick.

As a lot of people have said it seems to be a lottery / mystery as to when they contact or grant the visa.
Looking at older posts on this thread it seemed to be related to which case officer you got and a few years back you seemed to be notified of their contact email around the 3 months time.
This seems to have changed but I wonder if who the case officer is still has a bearing on when the visa is granted.
Complete lottery isn't it. I get the whole working in order but someone could vet them first and say this is fine, CO scans and signs off. Suppose doing that people would front load all the time - currently I assume they use the processing time to buy themselves time.
-
Snap!
Application submitted 8th Sept, front loaded in Dec with Medical and police check.
I know it's early compared to the published timeline but keep worrying I've missed something that would delay the granting of the visa, any communication would be a relief.
I'd hope given we are at 5 months that they would've contacted us by now for additional information. I've seen people contacted around 3/4 months so can't imagine we would wait longer.
Does seem like the 5 month on the dot applicants are rarer, they are taking 5.5 months plus now.
-
Well I had my medical yesterday and it's already been approved when I checked on immi tonight!! Only requested last week so very quick turnaround all in all! Police check uploaded so just waiting for visa grant now! Very exciting and happy to know we've done all we can now  House is going on the market next week.
Would assume I may get the nod before you as applied 13/09 but this seems like a complete lottery right?! Haha.
Front loading an application and then having zero contact is very tough. Starting to think I shouldve waited for a request but oh well.
I'll be moving to QLD too - family is all from Mackay but we'll hit Bris. Would be good to stay in contact even just to have people in similar situations around. Sharing tips and knowledge etc.
-
Thank you! It's a bit of a risk for me; I'm a teacher and it doesn't seem like there is a lot of work in QLD at the mo for teachers. But my hubbie is a chef so he'll be fine! But I think the stunning views and the fact we have family and friends there will make up for it. My son is very excited about starting college. It is such a relief. Good luck to everyone. I'll keep an eye on here, as we aren't moving until July and travelling around Asia before we arrive in Brisbane. All the best, Kate.
Superb news. Good to see August applicants getting granted.
Wonder if you'd have been sooner if you front loaded? Either way? 6 months isn't too bad is it.
-
Five months on Wednesday or 154 days, or 3696 hours not that I'm counting. No communication so far either
Good luck everyone.
I've only seen the one August grant on 5 months too - this was a few days over. Just want the process done and dusted now so I can actually plan my future.
-
Well I've a week to go until 5 months and still nothing from anyone at immigration.
Front loaded the application so would've assumed I would've heard by now if something missing.
Let's see what happens ay...
-
Ah! Great! It took 4 days. App was Tuesday, uploaded all clear on Friday. Visa grant email this morning at 9:45am! Fingers crossed yours is the same. Looking forward to hearing about it! x
Congrats on the grant. Fantastic news.
Any chance you could throw your timeline up just one last time?
-
Has anything on your immiaccount changed?
I was told bu incredibly unhelpful adviser on the phone that she couldn't tell if a CO had been assigned.
Jonathan
Nothing has changed whatsoever. I mean June applicants were getting 5 month grants so will be interesting to see in 2 weeks where we are at and if we get 5 months.
-
Hi I see you applied a week before myself and have similar situation.
Have you heard anything recently?
Jonathan
I replied a week after you mate and had nothing - also front loaded. When I called 2 weeks back I was told I have CO but the quoted processing time is still 10-14 months.

Yeah once on 29 July as some of the docs hadn't uploaded properly and then on 16 August to ask for her medicals and UK Police Check (these were uploaded on 4 Sept) and nothing since. She called about November last year and they said it's in the queue to be approved and to just wait.
Sorry if you've already said but when did you apply?
-
We had contact from our CO, and no status has changed, still says 'received' and 'submitted'.
We are waiting on our police check to come through, and then we can submit the requested documents - we were given 28 days, it's been 6, and feels like a month has passed already while we wait!!
Uhtred - when you did your PC - how long did it take to arrive??
I did mine back at the start of September. Pretty sure I had it back within a week.
-
All been a bit quiet though for London hasn't it - anyone had anymore contact?
-
Happy Australia Day everyone. ☺️???????

This time next year we will all have our visas and be celebrating in Oz!!

Oh goodness! Maybe the doctor fancied my husband!
You'll have to ask him which doctor he saw. I can't remember my doctors name but he was an Indian fella. Nice little surgery right near Harrods.
-
He had it done in London – Knightsbridge. He wasn’t quite expecting it… I guess they were being thorough. @SimplyRhi, where did your husband have his?
I had mine done in Knightsbridge too and definitely kept my pants on
Perhaps it's an age thing or for pre existing medical conditions?

There is no issue in applying for a visitor visa ahead of time. Many do. I'd not be leaving it to the last week before I fly to get a tourist visa anyways.
The e-visitor is always granted almost instantly anyway - had no issues whenever I've applied. As long as the partner visa supercedes it if granted then maybe I'll just get it done now.

I'm seeing a grant inside 3 months and a majority around the 5 month mark. Hopefully I haven't got an 8 month wait.
Assuming your application was straightforward?
