  1. @SimonPang, I really hope that receiving a personal email rather than an automated reply works for you and you get your PR soon. I have applied via an agent as well (in April) and this is a common thing among agents I guess - They do not let you call the department and they themselves do not call the department either. My MA had once mentioned that the Department do not look favourably on being contacted directly by either the agent on record or by the applicant as it takes resources away from processing of applications to answering to these queries. Not sure how true it is, however, it surely is annoying that despite paying money we have no control over our own application when using an agent.

    Best of luck!!

Yes, maybe the worst MA in the world, it's very hard to ask them making a call to IMMI.
  2. Hello again,

I am waiting as well. Rang up my MA yesterday. She too has no answer to the question. She herself told me that she has received approvals of people who applied after me and mentioned that Immi quotes a timeline of 8-10 months. I am hitting 10 months now. She did say that she hopes the application is not stuck with the wrong team. So I am assuming there are different teams and the team which is processing our application is the slower one or something like that. Feeling hopeless. Having spent so much energy, time, money and wasted emotions!

Any FEB, MAR and APR applicants whose cases haven't even been allocated yet? It's over 10 months for us now! Getting so depressing.

We submitted nom and visa, frontloaded all requirements (and even forms they didn't ask for), etc. - everything to get it done ASAP to no avail. I notice there hasn't been much approvals for the earlier months at all. Does anyone have any news?

  3. Hi @Izzielizzie and @jess6, Thanks for the update. I agree that the entire process seems vague. Initially i thought, the delay was a result of us applying via DE and also dependent on occupation. However, increasingly it feels that trying to apply any sort of logic to the process of CO allocation and receiving approvals, is a waste of time and energy. It seems like a lucky draw wherein they simply pick a few applications and start processing them. Anyway, I did call the department last week and received a similar response wherein the guy told me that there is a backlog and he can't provide a timeline.

When I did not receive an approval within 6 months, I had also spoken with my MA who informed me that she has seen a timeline of 8-10 months. We are all about to hit the 10 month mark soon and i can't explain in words how sad i feel that despite having a strong application in terms of documentation and sponsorship, we have to keep waiting. I hope that the Feb-March-April DE applications are looked at soon. Will keep you guys posted in case I hear anything. Good luck!

Hi @jess6, I think it's the combination of our occupation and being DE. I have yet to see MS DE getting quick approval - at least not for the applications in our timeframe?

Seems we also got unlucky timing-wise, in that the industrial action issues peaked around SEP-OCT. But I agree - ridiculous if DE were slower, particularly for onshore cases like ours with positive skills assessment and local experience.

Hitting 9 years in Australia so all the experience assessed and submitted are Australian. Solid employer and frontloaded all requirements including checks, medicals, form 80. And here we are, about to hit 10months and still no CO allocated. Mind-boggling and painful wait.

  4. Hello,

So all those DE applicants waiting since April 2016 - I called the department today and was told that my application still has not been allocated to an officer.

The person who received gave the standard reply which we expect -" There is a backlog. There is no specific reason as to why your application has not been allocated. We are currently processing applications from Feb-March"

I have been away for a month trying to not think about this whole process. However, I am back today and feel hopeless yet again.

I do feel really glad that some grants have been received. Congratulations to all those who have received PR. May the force be with you.

  5. Congratulations @Bluegrass!!!

This is great news. I just returned from vacation and haven't checked this thread in a while. Hope you can now begin a new journey in Australia and get all you aimed for. All the best!

I am still waiting and waiting and waiting since April.

I've been waiting for this day for five years and here we are. Nearly 10 months to the day from submission - I am a permeant resident of Australia. My MA called, I crumpled into a ball with tears of of happiness and just thinking, what a ****ing relief.

  6. Hi

    im new here.

i follow this thread from long time.

pls help me about direct entry I lodged my nomination on 1st April 2016

    and visa 29th April 2016

    my status is still received.

no any reply from immigration ???

    Hi,

I also lodged on 14th April 2016 DE (both nomination and visa). Heard nothing till now, so I contacted the department yesterday. The guy who received told me that my application has not even been allocated yet. He mentioned that they are processing early February applications and cannot give me a timeline due to many applications being lodged this year, however it could take another 2-3 months.

    Hope this helps.

I think the best way to handle this is to keep low expectations during Christmas. Feeling so hopeless.

Whoever prepared 186 ENS TIMELINE he/she had great job. In my opinion just one column is missing which is very important...That's occupation-job title....

    What do you think guys??

I agree. I think the occupation really matters. Like occupations which are in demand in Australia and which appear on SOL probably get higher priority once they hit the 6 month mark through ENS. Though it is a wild guess, I think we should include occupation in the sheet to check if there is a pattern. There has to be some sort of logic to all this, rather than just a mad wait period!

  8. Hi,

I am new to this forum. I had applied for nomination and visa on the 14th of April 2016 through Direct Entry under Market Research Analyst occupation. Haven't hear anything from my MA. I had called immi department a few months ago and my MA got really angry because she says that I shouldn't be contacting immi directly. Since I saw a lot of April grants already I feel nervous and stuck because I can't find a clear update on what's going on. Are there any applicants waiting from April? Is this normal? Any suggestions on what can I do? Thank you very much!
