  8. Hello All, My 457 visa was granted yesterday but was only issued for 2 years and as my profession is on the MLTSSL I was of the understanding that I would be granted a 4 year visa. I want to query this but cannot find a telephone number, can anyone help please x
  9. Hi, we didnt have to do any health checks but you have to obtain health insurance when you lodge visa application. You have to pay for everything up front, keep original receipts and they will pay you back once you start employment. They dont pay full fees, we can get up to $6000 for 2 adults and 2 children. My visa was only granted this morning so just trying to make final arrangements now x
  10. Hello Dave, my visa was granted this morning and similar to you it is for 2 years but should be 4 years. How did you go about correcting the error? Many Thanks Cheryl
  11. Hey guys, my 457 was granted this morning, lodged on 30th August ☺
  12. Hello, you definitely need a skills assessment, the AASW is currently taking 5-6 months to process, ACW seems to be quicker. Once you have skills assessment and international police checks you will be given formal job offer, DHHS will then nominate you for 457, mine was approved in a few days and then you lodge visa application, mine took 22 days x
  13. I dont think there is any sense to it, i know someone in exactly same position as me, both social workers, both sponsored for government positions in victoria, both nominations approved in just a few days, they requested further information from her and me, her vida was approved 5 days later 17 days in total. I am now on day 19
  14. My nomination was approved in august, visa lodged on 30th aug, additional doc submitted on 4th sept, moved to assessment in progress and nothing since ☹
  15. Hello, they have not asked for the documents to be certified, in fact first copy of the drivers licence was a certified copy, they were not happy with that and wanted me to upload the document direct rather than the certified copy
  16. Father has signed form 1229 no solicitor involved. They requested that I upload a copy if drivers licence but no other request as yet. Do they tend to drip feed requests for information as I
  17. I wonder what security checks they do? Mine is showing assessment in progress, how long does it take normally when it gets to assessment in progress stage?
  18. The current wait for AASW is significant, i applied in December and did not receive the assessment until June. It is my understanding that you cannot apply until you have a positive skills assessment. He will need to apply quickly in order to have a chance if getting the assessment in time otherwise he would lose the additional age points
  19. I am a social worker and have a positive AASW assessment. It is my understanding that you need a BA or Masters degree to qualify
  20. How long have people waited once their application moves from 'received' to 'assessment in progress'?
  21. So is your application still showing as 'received' even after submitting additional information? Mine was at received, they requested one document that i submitted same day and it now shows 'assessment in progress'
  22. Father has signed form 1229 no solicitor involved. They requested that I upload a copy if drivers licence but no other request as yet. Do they tend to drip feed requests for information as I would have thought if they needed any further information they would have asked at same time?
