Hello people please will someone shed some light on a situation I've got with AHPRA. I'm a radiographer in the UK and I am moving to OZ next July. I have attempted to be organised and apply for AHPRA prior to my move so that I can apply for a job as soon as I get to Oz. The problem I'm having is that I'm obviously an 'overseas applicant', but they want an Australian address for me?! I don't really know how you can be classed as 'overseas' but need a residential address?! Thanks! x

:smile: HI! I am taking the big move and venturing across the pond in January! I currently work in Leeds General Infirmary (LGI), Leeds, UK, which is part of one the largest teaching hospital units in the UK. The LGI specialises in trauma, an area of my job which I am very interested in. I want to find a trauma hospital in Australia that is large and nearish to a beach (not that I ask much ). Does anyone know of any?! Please help if you do. I know of the Alfred in Melbourne but there are no vacancies at the minute! Thanks in advance!! Lucy

Hi Alix, Can you also relay me any info that you get on this topic! I am looking at moving to Melbourne in January and might have to take up locum work first as it is quite hard to get everything sorted from the other side of the world ha! Police checks only take a few days, bet you've got it through already! Lucy

Hi Vicky, are you planning on going permanently? I am a diagnostic radiographer - I am just going through the process of moving over to OZ. I am on a permanent visa which lasts 4 years and then you go onto get your Australian citizenship. The visa I am on is the 189 Skilled assessment visa, which requires 3 years of experience.
