  1. Hi everyone.

I am pretty sure I've mentioned this already but I'm just desperate for some positive comments on people who may have been in a similar situation.

I applied for 187 DE, since I applied the abn number changed as my boss sold 40% of the business which created a new ABN number however the business structure is exactly the same literally all that has changed is the ABN number and the name on the ABN number the workplace is still the same name and same staff members (it was two staff members that bought into the business)

On the 11th November we had contact from immi about this and now I've just received and email from my MA basically saying that it's likely to be refused. I'm desperate to stay obviously and I can't submit a new application as I'm already on a BVA :(

  2. Which date case officer contact u?

    Nomination applied 27/4

    Visa applied 23/5

I'm located in WA but my case is with team 4 Vic,

Case officer made contact on the 11/11 asking for clarification on nomination details as the business has had to change ABN since we applied.

  3. Hey Danielle,

Have they asked for more documents? Is there anything your employer can send showing why the ABN has changed such as name of partners, financial documents, business structure change declaration, etc...

I guess they had to ask the question but don't give up, stay positive :-)

They haven't actually said what documents we need to send them more so asking why the ABN number has changed. Well I think anyway. I have a print out of what they sent my employer but I'm still shocked that they've picked me case up and just confused with it all. Information overload!

  4. Hi everyone,

Not too sure why they even sent that auto email out stating they are on feb because my employer had contact from immi today, not sure what team but it was in Vic.

Nomination lodged 27th April 2016 and visa lodged on the 16th May. Direct entry onshore (WA) occupation is pharmacy technician.

It's not great news this contact as my employer has a new ABN since my application was lodged so they were basically questioning that. I'm praying that everything goes smoothly but sort of expecting it to be refused. So fingers crossed!!

    Good luck to everybody else

  5. Thinking of a short road trip to see parts of Tasmania. I will only have 4 days so realise time is very limited. Will be flying in and out from Melbourne and have no preference to which airport to arrive/depart from. Can anybody share any potential places I could stay and sites/hikes to see and do?! It will be towards the end of January as I'll be spending Australia Day in Melbourne and will be looking to rent a camper van whilst there so will be wanting to stay at campsites to keep the costs down.

    Thanks :)

  6. Wow! So many coincidences tonight, Emon and Peem from the same town too but on the other side of the Country lol

Danielle, I work at the Two Foreshore Coffee Shop, next to the playground. Any chance you have been there before?

  7. Hi Danielle,

I am in Geraldton too :-)

Hope we get our visas soon.

I heard of cases where the first nomination was refused or withdrawn and the visa applicant was able to link the application to a new nomination (reasons were diverse, from a new nominated occupation to a complete change of employer). As long as the case is handled correctly, there should not be a problem.

Oh really thanks for that info bit of a relief as I'm sort of expecting to have to resubmit the nomination :( fingers crossed I don't though!

Oh really! Small world hey where do you work? Have you been here long?

  8. Hi guys,

I’ve got a situation that I have applied nomination for a 187 direct stream in 24th Jan 2015. Finally on 2nd Nov 2016 heard from case officer for further info but with trouble:

I quote "An explaination why you have provided financial document for x pty ltd-ACN. 00001? This nomination has been lodged by Y pty ltd- A.C.N 00002".

Basically the company got restructured and as a result company’s ABN and ACN had changed. However, the owner and location and name of business is same.

I’m confused to what I need to do from here as the company circumstances had changed recently.

What complications it will bring to my company nomination application?

    .

Also I have lodged my visa application in April 2016.

I wonder what will happen with my visa application if the company nomination ever get refused - Will I get my money back?

    Please advise.

    Thanks

Interested to know how your case goes. My nominating employer also changed ABN numbers 2 months after my nomination was lodged. The business is the same name, same shop location, same employees it's just a staff member bought into the business (only 40% so my boss that nominated me for the visa is still the main owner) we notified immigration of the change but are still yet to hear from them. I've also lodged my visa so if we do need to re submit a new nomination it would be good to know if we can link the visa application to a new nomination as obviously I really don't want to be paying for a new visa application.

Good luck with your application :)

  10. Me and my partner made the move from Sydney early this year as he was going to be sponsored on a 187 visa. Before the move we were told that jobs are hard to find and there isn't much going on however I had 3 job offers straight away, 1 of which before I even arrived in town. We were also warned and read online that the town has a bad reputation for drugs/violence which yes it does but what town/city doesn't have rough areas?!

It took us a while to 'settle' after living in a busy city but I enjoy life here now, great weather (except windy afternoons during spring) amazing beaches, cheap rent and just and easy life.

Let me know if you have any questions :)

  11. Hi all :)

My partner and I are looking for some Christmas and NYE ideas. We are currently living in Geraldton and due to only having a few days off work can't venture too far so Perth seems like the obvious choice. Any suggestions of any events or things going on? Don't really want to be spending NYE in a club we find that so over rated and can do that anywhere and any weekend.

We are both 25 from England and this is our 3rd Aussie Christmas. Previous 2 years spent in Sydney whilst on our WHVs which was fun as we were with loads of other backpackers. Since moving to Geraldton we don't really know anybody that doesn't have family to spend the holidays with etc plus I imagine gero will be pretty quite, especially compared to Xmas day on Bondi and fireworks at the harbour!!

    Thanks in advance :)

  12. Hi guys,

I am trying my very best to make a perminent move to Australia. I completed a year in 2014 on a working holiday visa without doing my 88 days regional work (clearly I didn't realise at the time how much of an amazing country Australia is!) Now i'm desperately trying to get back over perminantely. I am currently a Real Estate Agent and have been informed that I could get a Skilled Visa on the basis that I find a company to sponsor me... Thing is I CANT!

I'm now starting to consider trying my luck and applying for my second holiday visa in the hope I wont get spot checked (although i've heard immigration are cutting down big time)

Please can someone advise me?!? Getting desperate here guys!!

My 2nd WHV was granted within hours of applying and then when I arrived they took me to one side at the airport and asked for evidence. Luckily I had the form the farmer signed with me but even that wasn't enough I went on my emails showed them my payslips then had to log in to my bank account so they could see the statement making sure the amount on my payslips was the same as the amount going into my bank account! All of my farm work was legit but I was still scared they'd refuse me entry so imagine what it would be like in that situation without doing the regional work! It happened to my friend too and they made him show them his facebook so they could check his posts and photos from the dates he said he was doing his regional work.

If you didn't go to New Zealand last time then I'd highly recommend you try a WHV there it's an amazing country or maybe retrain in the UK and try and come back on a skilled visa that doesn't require sponsorship.

  13. The hospital I worked at in Sydney had more UK nurses than Australian they were all on 457. It was a private hospital though maybe try that route if they were government hospitals that turned you down. Or try somewhere out of the main cities and go for the 187 visa

  14. so have you reported to the immigration? Is it our obligation as the visa holder? or is it the employer's responsibility?

    Thanks for your help

Employer notified them of the change as it's to do with the nomination we haven't had any response from immi yet though so have no idea what the outcome will be. Applied mid April so hopefully not too much longer to wait.

I have a similar situation.. I'm a pharmacy tech and 3 months after applying 187 direct entry the pharmacist went into partnership with another pharmacist (who was already working there) which created a new abn. The old abn is still active but now all wages go through the new number. MA told us to inform immi of the change as it isn't unusual for case officers to ask for more recent financial documents before approving the nomination. Hopefully my application will still be ok even with the business change but MA said the most likely outcome will be that we'll have to reapply under the new abn.. very annoying if so means another long wait before PR and another couple of thousand dollars to spend.

Anyway if you simply don't tell immi about the sale of the pharmacy then there's a good chance they will find out and your sponsor should really be informing them of any changes to circumstances.

  16. Did your MA miss a document???!!!

Is it normal for immi to refuse a nomination/visa straight away without asking for any missing documents? I thought they'd ask for them before deciding if it meets the requirements or not.

  17. Hi guys

    I have news.

    I spoke to a lawyer.

He said if I apply for a new nomination within the 28days from the refusal I can then link my 187 visa to the new nomination.

This process is quick ( couple of months).

    He made my day!

I am going to hire him and suck my MA. He said we have enough time!

Don't use a MA that screw your life use a lawyer!!!!!

That's great news! Are you on a bridging visa A? I was under the impression that if you lodge another application while on BVA you will go to a BVC which doesn't come with work rights but I could be wrong.

  18. Good day guys!!!

it's my first time post a article!!

today I get email from immigration about Document request for AFP

    it's says"

Character requirements – Australian Federal Police (AFP) clearance NationalPolice Check (one submitted is incorrect)

    "

so I upload mine and my girlfriend's AFP again straight away.

The date on our AFP is 13/April and 5/April, it's not over 6 months yet,

So I JUST DOUBLE CHECK HERE WITH YOU GUYS THAT

I DONT NEED TO DO ANOTHER AFP FOR ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND RIGHT?

All the best and my time line is

    norm 29/03/16

    Visa lodge 29/03/16

    Occupation: cook

    LR

Hi are you a direct entry applicant or are you already on a 457? That's good that you have a case officer already since according to immi they are working on December cases. Maybe the fact you are LR country they process quicker? Gives me hope that maybe I won't be waiting another 4 months like I imagined as my applications were lodged mid April and I'm from England so LR although I'm direct entry so I think those applications take longer to process?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  19. oh nice to know that i hope its less than 5 months, whats your occupation ?

My occupation is pharmacy technician, it's direct entry route and I'm from the UK so LR. What about you? I'd love to find out before the new year although if my nomination was refused I'd hope it wouldn't be around Christmas time as it would be even more stressful. The wait is hard, I'm onshore on a bringing visa as my WHV expired. I hate being in visa limbo.

  20. is anyone from DARWIN area on here ? reply if yes , i applied my nomination 26th april and visa on 16th may, pretty sure wouldnt get any result till dec or even jan feb next year the way immi is processing files, unless there is miracle, in aus since 2008 hope this will be my last one on temp visas

if you applied in may too reply my post ?

I applied my nomination and visa those dates too! But I'm in WA. Hopefully we won't be waiting too much longer but since immi are only on December applications I'm guessing we'll have another 4/5 months to wait :(
