Hi @ Charlottehill76, Thanks for the detailed response. Its definitely going to help me a lot. I have also heard from someone, Waterloo is a very nice place though very expensive. Since my wife doesn't work, probably I will have to look for a cheaper place since can't afford that. I am planning to move alone and look for a place and then ask my wife and son to come down once I find a suitable place. Some of my acquaintances told me that without having a strong bank statement, it gets difficult to rent the place. I don't know how true is that. One of my friend told me that a place can be arranged but the agency is asking for 6 months advance. The only risk is that I am paying for a place which I haven't seen and I may not like. I don't know if there are any other ways to get the place before reaching there. L~

Hello all, after long wait of 8 months, finally I got the most awaited email this morning :-) Thanks everyone for you support throughout this waiting journey. I will stay on this thread till the last person gets the grant - continuing the trend setup by @GarrySingh and @lukescotty. Guys, I would like to know whats the next step? what are the things we must and must not do before arriving and after arriving OZ. Hi @GarrySingh, Thanks Garry. The latest update on my case is that my last employer got a call 2 weeks ago and as per HR she has verified my job details. I spoke to my agent yesterday and he said, it will take another 1-2 months at least before we get the decision as they would verify the case from the high commission as well and the cases are sent in bulk so it normally takes around 2 months. I don't know how true is that but will have to wait. Also, the agent said that DIBP has changed the policy on email replies and clearly mentioned that they wont reply or give any update on visa statuses. Again, I don't know how true is that. My friend just got his grant last week, he logged his application on Feb so it took around 8 months. Also no verification was done in his case.

Hey @Bob - ok so its not just me form Jan submissions. Have you tried contacting them or any follow-up? Its total silence on my case since March.

Hehehe.. this is indeed a very great news. It gives me hope and at least more motivation to wait less now I hope I also get the grant very soon now, fingers crossed! Thanks so much @lukescotty, at least I won't feel lonely on this thread while you are around. I had already started feeling left out on the group My last document/update was submitted on the 21st May, so it's still 3.5 months since last submission. That was not requested from them but my agent updated them about my new job. Also I have not heard anything from my previous employers regarding any confirmation email or call on my ex-employments. So I am not sure if they are even enquiring or doing any sort of verification, I don't see any movement till today.

Looks like it's only me and @lukescotty left now. Let's hope we also get any time soon.

I can't agree with you more with @lukescotty, and I also feel at least there is some movement in your application @ Sulav Patel which is a good sign. I don't think 60 points should be a problem as that is the minimum required points in that category and I also have 60 points. It could however, move our applications down the pile which could be the possible cause of the delay. Is there any way to contact DIBP directly? My agent doesn't want to query them and it has been around 3 months ever since we submitted the last update to them (21st May, 2016).

Any news from any corner? Out of frustration, I called my agent yesterday and asked him about my case. He replied I must wait and there is nothing that he can do. It outcome and time varies from case to case and nothing can be said as when will we hear from them. I asked to to contact DIBP but he said no let's wait atleast till the end of this month and then we will approach them.

thanks so much @lukescotty - It's very frustrating to see these stats.. At least we have some idea as how the applications are moving. I have to take so many decisions and all my decisions are based on the outcome of my application - I have put everything on hold including my plans to have another baby

What does this exactly mean? How is it going to impact us?

@Charlottehill76 - Many congrats - This is such a hope to see finally some quick movements. Although, the order we predicted would follow is no longer valid and it seems more random now. So basically, it depends on your luck and probably on the assigned CO. @Charlottehill76 - where was your CO assigned? Lets keep fingers crossed!
