Hi All,
This is finally our moment!
Our PR has been granted yesterday 7/11/2016.
I just found it out now, I checked the immi account like every morning but this time the status was FINALISED! I was almost closing the windows and then my eyes went to the corner of the screen....what what??? Finalised??? :chatterbox:
We haven't heard from our MA so far, maybe she is busy. Well, I don't mind. I double checked on VEVO and we are PR! I downloaded and printed the grant letter out. We'll keep it as our precioussss!! :jiggy:
Our timeline:

Nom&Visa 20/04/2016
Both approved 7/11/2016
201 days of waiting game (received to finalised with no assessment in progress or other status in between)
No further documents requested (form 80 was provided beforehand anyway, so I'm not sure if they cecked it).
Next step in 12 months...citizenship!
Thank you all, this forum has been a great travel buddy!
Good luck to everyone, especially to the September guys. You've been such an inspiration.
You deserve it guys, you certainly deserve it.

hey guys,
I've updated april's spreadsheet with aliwal grant. I've also tidied it up a bit.
have a look and add your details!
-
It's not on the check list if memory serves me right.
But private medical cover is a requirement for the 457 to be approved and held.
So I think CO will automatically check the private insurance status.

Anyone April 2016 guys got news?????
I wish!

I have imported my visa application to my immi account, I just type TRN, passport number and date of birth, Anand the application has been imported to my account.. is that going to make any trouble? My visa application lodged by MAand they are dealing with the nomination too. I hope everyone viewing their status like this..
Unless you let your MA know or you delete/modify some attached file by mistake, he/she shouldn't be able to verify that you are tracking your visa status.
-
Is it risky applying at the same as your employer? I know if you wait for them to be approved it can double the wait time, but I'm a bit concerned about them getting refused (not that I cant think of a reason why they would, just being cautious!) and us losing our $8k application fee... :-/
If you know that previous 186 nominations have been approved to your employer, then you should be fine even if you lodge Nom&Visa at the same time.
On the other hand if your employer's company is small and he/she has never given 457 before yours, then you may want to wait for the 186 nomination to be approved and lodge your visa afterwards.

Hi, long time lurker to this thread. Just got an email from MA and said instead of 6 months it will take 8+ months dues to lack of resources.
Application and nomination applied: 30/4/16
Status: Waiting
Actually, a friend of mine (who is deciding if to apply for a 189/190 or go through the 457) was told by her MA that the 186 waiting time is now around 7/9 months.
So yes, your 8+ is quite realistic.
That's why I'm saying that I would consider myself lucky to get good news by the end of the year. I'm preparing myself to enter 2017 without grant letter, though.
In 10 days we'll reach the 6months mark.
Let's see how it goes

You're an optimist!
We have applied both nom and visa last 20 Apr.
We would be more than happy to have good news by Christmas!
-
Wowww that's a long wait.... thanks
Nomination 27 April 2016
Application 27 April 2016
Let's hope for some good news around Xmas time! That would be the best present ever!

That means we'll need to wait at least another 3 months. Oh gosh!
157 days already gone. I wonder if we'll have good news before Christmas!
-
Sorry for asking, but I don't understand why the code should be different.
The code needs to be present on the csol list for the 457 to be approved, consequently it will be the same for the 186, as the permanent visa will be granted through a "transition scheme".
Why would you list another code on the 186 application?
-
I honestly respect you guys. Almost a year of waiting game is insane!
I can't even think of myself waiting so long.
Congratulations to camclucas and best of luck to the rest of September group!

my lovely wait-friends~~~
[A question~~~Could I go abroad during the processing time? ]
1.186 application already been lodged after 2 year's holding for 457,
and my 457 valid until 2018 (legally I'm free for leave);
2.but, my 2016 annual leave already be used in JAN for travel -.-...
3. situation: my boss is ok if I ask for leave, but i don't know the immigration department
I'm think for a 3-4weeks leave attending my good friend's wedding next month
but I'm afraid this will influence my PR processing,
when my case allocated by immi, will they know will they care I'm in AU or not?
or they may only care about in past 2 years' information?
will they think I'm not in genius position due to my over-length leave?(and may create some difficulties about my case?? -0-...
will my case be on hold due to my leave?
reeeeeeally confusing about leave at this critical juncture lol...
are there any experiencing mates could offer me some suggestions or share me your similar situation?
ps:
occupation: corporate service manager,
in small company,
already wait 8 month,
i know the big day may come soon,
but the flight price is really push me to do an early decision..
hope every one could get the PR in AUG!!! 2016!!! ASAP!!!
end.
You can ask for unpaid leaves. This way you won't impact on immi situation.
Anyone can confirm this?

And there u go they contacted me. Well file delayed does not mean anything negative. There are many things inside immigration that we dont know.
Well, great news! This information can be a relief for those who go through unexpected waitings

First visa granted in the April spreadsheet. I can see the user BS got his approval yesterday.
His nomination was lodged on Feb the 2nd and visa on Apr the 3rd.
This means that the immi auto-reply is not very accurate.

Only the main applicator need form 80 ?
Everyone included in the application. This is what my MA said.
Also, I don't think it's compulsory to upload form 80 but it's a good idea to fill it in beforehand, just in case CO asks for it.

You don't require a BVB once a 457 or similar visas remain. My 457 expires August 2017. Therefore that precedes any other bridging visa. A BVB isn't needed as I still have my 457 active despite the 186 application in with immi.
Yes sorry, I missed the point.
I meant after the 457 expires.
Our 457 will expire Feb 2017.
What are "substantial reasons" for a BVB to be approved? Because it seems that once your 457 expires you can't leave Australia until 186 is approved. Most of the people I've heard about didn't apply for a BVB, preferring to wait until 186. Is it hard to get a BVB?

Once the 457 expires, and only then, the bridging visa kicks in and you are not allowed to leave Aus.
Hang on, ain't you allowed to travel by applying for a BVB?
Obviously, you must have substantial reasons for leaving Australia.
-
as we can see here it doesn't take 7-8 months for 186 it takes only 6 months..
Half way through, then.
100 days here.
But we're psychologically prepared for a 7-8 months wait, just in case.
Ps. Status changed from "application received" to "received". I guess it doesn't make any difference.
