Only lodged on Mar 20th, 17 days ago but really hoping for a direct grant.  All paperwork was sent, inc PCC and meds so have everything crossed for no CO!   Does anyone have any idea on the direct grant timeframe?  Some say 3 months?  Thanks!!

So many factors affecting the processing times at the moment and your circumstances, number of applicants  etc. can all determine whether you receive a grant quickly. I think between 5 and 8 months is good going at the moment. I’ve just had my grant it took 7 months. If you used an approved agent who has told you it’s decision ready you might be lucky. The gov website is saying 8-11 months (it was 5-8 when we applied). Good luck ?

    Hi everyone

I need to ask a question in relation to BVE. Currently I am on BVE and I know that I can't make any further visa application while onshore. If I have enough points for 190 visa can I lodge EOI while onshore and after invitation I can travel offshore and apply for 190 visa? Is this possible or I need to be offshore even for an EOI?

I applied onshore for a 190. It’s painfully slow though, be prepared for a wait. Good luck.

  3. Hi

I’m in Australia currently on a 457, awaiting PR 190 (submitted August 2017). I’ve potentially found a great permanent role with an organisation willing to take over the sponsorship of my 457.

Has anyone recently transferred their 457 to a new employer that can give me an idea of timelines or a good migration agent who has done this? I want to manage the new employer expectations honestly.

    Thanks

  4. Thanks Raul - Thats good information. The issue of travel is a biggy for us as my daughter needs to fly back to fulfill visitation rights for her father...and I travel for work. We've no trips planned until June but can't guarantee the PR will be finalised by then.

Its such a shame as the processing times were so much quicker when we submitted our application.

    I appreciate your help.

  5. Hi

I ceased employment with my 457 Employer Sponsor almost 90 days ago, unfortunately I just found out that they didn't fulfill their obligation to inform the Dept.of Home Affairs (I did tell them). This has meant that I missed out on a job. Anyway, we're awaiting the outcome of a PR application submitted last August and I wondered if anyone had experience of applying for a BVE. My migration agent says I could request online to cancel my 457 but I'm not sure what the process is if I do and could we apply for a bridging visa?

I'd rather not be unlawful for any amount of time and I haven't worked for a while now so I don't want my husband to lose his work rights - but I'd definitely like to get back to work! I don't know if we should risk cancelling the 457 or just wait for the PR to be granted?

    Any and all advice welcome.

Same as you, my status has now changed to "Further Assessment", does it mean our case officer is reviewing our case, when do you think our visa will be granted? I lodged on 16 October 2017, and CO officer requested police check on 6 December and I submitted all required documents on 8 December 2017.

Unfortunately they’re just a refresh of the previous assessment categories. They don’t mean anything other than you’ve submitted any additional information the CO might have requested.

    Dear All,

Need guidance and advise for my EOI.Will this take this much longer waiting period ? It has been around 13 months. Is it the trend for ICT occupations in NSW ? Just Curious :(

    EOI Status below :

EOI Subclass 190, aiming for NSW, Occupaion - ICT Business Analyst, EOI lodged on 20th December 2016, PTE Scores - S-84,R-73,W-82,L-78

    Thanks :)

Hi If your application has now exceeded the processing timeline you can contact the DIBP directly to get an update. Good luck!

  8. Hi - yes they've had the 1229 since we applied in August as well as our legal care agreement that she will spend a minimum of 8 weeks in the UK each year over 2 or 3 trips until her 18th Birthday. They also had one previously when we arrived initially for my 457 application. He said it was a quick conversation and that the person that called him said they would update the file and report back that everything was in order. Our file has been under assessment since September when we provided the additional documents they requested (my decree nisi/confirmation of divorce) and have heard absolutely nothing at all until yesterday. I know that timelines and order of checks is dependent upon individual case officers - I had just started to get on with my life and have this off my mind (a bit) and I guess now its back to anxious waiting and second guessing every 'sign' until its granted! I will try to be chill :-)

    Hi guys

I’ve not really been active on this thread but i’ve replied to some comments so I thought i’d share the good news. Finally received the news we’d desperately been waiting for! Got that golden email yesterday morning after just over 8 months from lodging. So excited but extremely nervous. With a sore head this morning after celebrating, the stress of getting everything organised I’m sure will begin to set in. Our initial entry date is 10th August so planning on leaving in July ?

Good luck to everyone that is still awaiting their grant ??

Massive Congratulations to you. I’ve had some bubbles in the fridge for 5 months - can it be me next?!? ? Welcome to Australia, you’re going to love it here.

Hey all, just wanted to know what you guys feel about the current timeline..I applied for 190 vic visa under 457 streamline pathway, got invited, paid visa fees and applied for visa on 3rd Nov 2017. 14th Dec CO asked for a letter which I provided on the 29th day (response time was 28 days). 4th Jan is when I uploaded the required letter. Still no response. Any idea guys on the processing timeline etc.?

Hi, I’m in the same boat except we’re in QLD. The 457 makes no difference to how quickly a new application is processed unfortunately. My 190 was submitted in August, final docs uploaded by request from CO within 24hours. My application has been decision ready/under assessment since September. It’s been a long wait! Good luck ?

It’s an invite for a 489 cause Queensland don’t do the 190. I found out the information about settlement funds etc. However I am worried about my work as I have always worked part time and I read somewhere that you need 4 months full time. My head is a bust ball ?

I’ve got a 190 in for QLD? The visa process is almost the same as for the 189. Making sure you can provide at least 2 forms of proof for each employed position you’ve had will save time along the line.

Hi there is that 8-11 months for whole process or just to get an invite. I am a nurse with 65 points for Queensland

    thanks

Hi, they say that most applications are processed within 8-11 months, this is after you submit a complete visa application which you can only do after you’ve received the state nomination. I think our nomination/invite took just a few days to turn around but that was back in July last year.

  13. As of 21 Dec 2017 DIBP updated their processing times, I’m waiting on a 190 which has now increased to 8 - 11 months. My question is, what is the point of them publishing average processing times when it can change so dramatically during the application process? When we started it was 3 months, we cannot contact our case officer within the published processing times so it’s completely useless information especially if they keep increasing the amount of time they have. Even though we applied at a time when we might expect a faster turnaround no one will talk to us now until 11 months has passed. I don’t know of anything else where you pay upfront and they have the right to continually change expectations of service. I am so frustrated by this whole process. Sorry for the rant ?
