Only lodged on Mar 20th, 17 days ago but really hoping for a direct grant.  All paperwork was sent, inc PCC and meds so have everything crossed for no CO!   Does anyone have any idea on the direct grant timeframe?  Some say 3 months?  Thanks!!

So many factors affecting the processing times at the moment and your circumstances, number of applicants  etc. can all determine whether you receive a grant quickly. I think between 5 and 8 months is good going at the moment. I’ve just had my grant it took 7 months. If you used an approved agent who has told you it’s decision ready you might be lucky. The gov website is saying 8-11 months (it was 5-8 when we applied). Good luck ?

    Hi,

I had lodged my visa application on 3rd April,  2017 for 190 visa grant. CO appointed on 11th April.  Still waiting for the outcome.  Almost 8 months have gone.  I m worried about my case outcome.

That’s rubbish! I hope you get it soon. It does seem a long time since you applied, can you email them through your immi account?

    Hi All,

I have submitted my application for 190 for QLD along with all docs in one go including PCC, Medical Form 80 and others on 1st Nov 2017 and i am still waiting for any update from IMMI.

My friends who are on 190 said it wont take more than 5-6 weeks but the current processing time is written as 6 months to 10 months on my application in IMMI account.

I am not sure whether CO has been assigned or not it is showing as received only.

Is there anyone who applied at the same time and got anything or any suggestions?

    Thanks

Hi, if you’re one of the more fortunate applicants it can go straight to grant without you ever being notified that a case officer has been assigned. Most applications seem to be taking considerably longer than 5-6 weeks though, at the moment 5-6 months is still fairly quick. Have a look at the groups for applications by month, there are still many waiting from the first 6 months of 2017. I hope you’re lucky but I wouldn’t plan on anything until you’ve got your grant because processing times vary.

My defacto partner and I recieved our 190 visa (Tasmania Sponsored) today.

    Timeline:

    Lodged 8th June 2017

Requested PCC, Medicals, and further defacto evidence on the 19 June

Provide all evidence medicals and PCC on the 21 July 2017 (PCC take three weeks in South Africa)

Granted Visa on the 14th September

We've just booked and paid for our wedding in March next year thinking it would be ages before we get our grant... this obviously prompted Murphy to organise the visa grant ASAP ;)

Congratulations on both your visa and your wedding, its encouraging to see a straight forward timeline for a change!

I am afraid being on a 457 is unlikely to help in speeding things up much. Then, when you do get state nomination, 190 visas are taking a long time to process and many occupations are not getting invited to apply without high points

Thanks verystormy, I've got 80 points and our medicals have been cleared as have our police checks, employment history etc. so just waiting now. EOI came back within a few days and then The 190 was lodged with everything front loaded on 27th August so I guess its in the hands of the DIPB now. Fortunately my potential new employers are happy to wait..I've tried to manage their expectations with regards to timelines.

I feel for you and I completely understand. It's so hard being trapped working in a place that makes you miserable....I had the same scenario - my employer promised me the world and delivered little. It's been so frustrating not being to take up other job offers...for nearly 8 months while I waited and waited. It's such a fantastic feeling.

When did you apply for the 190?

Hold on in there, you can get through this, the feeling of getting the visa grant - and the freedom it represents is wonderful.

A good friend of mine told me "everyone has a visa story to tell....and the ordeal we go through makes it taste sweeter when we finally get it". Really hope you hear something very soon ??

I've a way to go -  date of full application was only about 6 weeks ago but we loaded absolutely everything and I'm hopeful (as is everyone I guess) that our onshore status and 80 points with a job we've been told by DIPB is 'near the top of the priority list' will help us avoid any potential delays. Its difficult when you see on the trackers people getting their grant within a few days. I am really struggling at work so obsessing about the visa is probably not a healthy distraction when I know that a time frame within 6 months is realistic. I have looked into what might happen if I quit - its becoming tempting... but it would seriously put our house buying plans back if I did so trying to take one for the family team at the moment :-/ Thanks though, I bet the bubbles tasted extra good!

Yes, it's true.....the good news finally came through ????....we got our visa grant yesterday (4th Sept) and immediately hit the town to celebrate. It was champagne all round ???. ???.

We applied for our visa (onshore) on 4th Feb. It's been a gruelling wait. I was on an employee sponsored visa  - and really really hated my job, and my employer, but was unable to leave because I could not work for anyone else without the 190 visa. The 'trapped' feeling has been so tough - Now I am free ??. The wait is sooooo difficult, at times I think I've almost required my own Clinical Psychologist to get me through ??

I reallly hope others hear about their via's really soon. Things finally seem to be moving at DIBP which is wonderful. Xx

    Hi

I'm in the same boat, applied onshore for a 190 although still awaiting assignment of CO but here currently on a 457 - I have a new job offer which I'm really keen to take as the job I have now is not what I expected (the employer withheld some information about the role to make it more appealing and now I'm trapped). I work in an industry where everyone knows everyone else so I'm trying to keep my head down and do a good job but it is hard when I feel so desperate to leave. Reading about your case has helped me to focus on how it will feel when the visa comes through! Congratulations :-)

    Just my opinion.

I'd bank on 189 cos simply, I can go whichever state I want. And as it seems now, 189 is being processed earlier than those on 190.

    Hi Everyone,

I'm after a bit of advice although I'm told a crystal ball is required at the moment to correctly predict processing times. I've been invited to apply for both 189 and 190 after submitting EOI's. Job is ICT Security Specialist - on shore in Queensland (here on a 457). Have 75 points for the 189 and 80 for 190. I can't apply for both visas at the same time...straw poll of which might have the fastest turnaround?

    Thanks

Just a bit of an update. According to Dept. Immigration adviser (by phone) applications are *normally* prioritised by points, then occupation, then whether a state nomination has been approved followed by onshore/offshore, other circumstances, no. of existing approvals this financial year etc. So given that we already live here, have the state nomination and have 80 points I'll be applying via 190 route. I will keep the thread updated on processing timeline.

  10. Hi everyone,

Does anyone have experience of applying for PR 190 Visa whilst in Australia (currently here on a 457). We've applied for state nomination in QLD but when I called the Immigration Dept. here in Queensland the agent was not very helpful and they didn't seem to be able to give me any indication of, well anything really. It was a frustrating conversation - not helped by the fact that this persons first language was not English. I've been offered a better job than the one I'm currently with a sponsor for on my 457, but it does require that I have PR in order to accept. My family and I had already started the process of applying for a 190 but we are still waiting for nomination from the state (they say there is a backlog due to changes in the 457 and no extra capacity to deal with the increase in volume). The time frame has changed a lot since the application for state nomination was lodged, I'm not sure if already having a visa will help to expedite the process or not?

    Thanks in advance :-)
