And for subclass 864 visa applications:
We are currently assessing applications lodged up to 10 August 2016.
Best regards.
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if the 864's have a separate quota out of the 7175 Parent Visas allocated per year or is it just given priority? There is a BIG difference (ALMOST 2 YEARS) in the processing speed of the 143 and 864 visas.
Cheers.

Hi Catlady,
I saw in another 143 forum that one of their forum members' agent had got a request from immi for police and medical checks . That person's date is also 1st Oct 2014. So hope this excites you. Xx
-
they could still have received applications on those days, though? Or maybe at least on the Saturday? Or am I grasping at straws, haha.
Hi Catlady,
I live in WA. No postal deliveries on the weekend, and government officers are closed. But you have a VALID point . Maybe they receive extra applications on Mondays as a result of those collected over the weekend. So hence more time to process. Yes I'm being positive.
-
.....but clerk85 has just posted that the processing date has moved on a few days to 11th August, so we all need to stay as positive as we can. We will get there ...eventually.
Hi Catlady,
I was overjoyed too, but 9th and 10th was the weekend, so that means they have taken around 2-3 days to process 1 day of 2014. Something better than nothing though!!

Hi bear2015,
Well im not sure mate cause i deleted all emails from immi but maybe it was on dec 18th or just around in the middle of december.
and we r waiting for their next contact and the centrelink too. i read from this forum yesterday as they r currently on aug 8th. Hopefully centrelink will makes it faster.
Regards.
Thanks for the details and Good luck with your AOS.

Hi Bryant,
Can I please know when immi contacted you, with instructins to go ahead with the police checks, medicals etc??
Cheers.
-
Hi ljwalwin,
Thanks for posting the details. Hang in there , I have heard this is the most frustrating time in the waiting room. Hope your mums turn will come soon. Good luck.
-
Thats no problems. Thanks anyway Fisher1!
Hi Ljwalvin,
Can you pls let me know what is the lodgement date of your/your parents application. Just curious.
-
Interesting. Visit visas aren't "resident" (temporary or otherwise) visas though. Didn't know they counted towards residency requirements.
You are correct . Visitor visas don't count as residency for PR. I have a friend who checked from immi. They said tourist visas didn't count. She was asked to key in her parents earliest resident arrival date on the citizenship date calculator and then apply after 4 years.

Hi all
Oh well, here it is
woooohoooooo!!!
Visa granted today 15 December!
Good luck to all those still waiting and hang on in there!
Wow, congratulations. That's a great Xmas present. I usually give a 'like' , but unable to find it on the forum these days LOL.

Hi Judy,
I asked immi at the end of August if we could do the AOS early due to my daughters work commitments. They were extremely helpful and emailed me the AOS request, they also gave us our hap id's so we could do the medicals at the same time. The medicals were easy to sort through BUPA in Perth but unfortunately it all went wrong with centre link. Just remember you don't want to do the medicals and police checks too early as they are only valid for 12 months. Hopefully not much longer and we should be able to leave the waiting room.
Joe
Thanks Joe, that gives me a good idea about the timing. I need my parents to come in early 2018 to help out with my daughters schooling in Perth. And also... Yes we are hoping all the 2014 lodgers would move out quickly. There is a big list of forum members for 2015.
Cheers
Judy.

Hi Geordie joe,
Thanks for the detailed explanation on what to expect with the AOS. You mentioned that your daughter applied for the AOS on 1st Sep. Did they request the Medicals and police requests also at the same time , and if so was it like august end? I'm just asking bcos my mum is planning her 2017 December holiday in advance and she was thinking she can stay for some time in Aussie.
Judy.

Hi Wishfull
Your son will get a call (no caller identity) at any time, no notice given. If they can't contact him by phone they will send him a letter asking him to call.
Julie
Julie,
I would like to know once you were contacted by the CO, other than the docs requested from the parents, what type of documents were requested from your son/daughter who is the sponsor. eg, pay slips, bank statements etc....??
cheers
Judy.

Hello,
Are there any August/ September 2014 lodgers? I think after Geordie joe out of the waiting room , there is no one else on this forum until Catlady and Clerk85 in October . So so we won't be able to do our own tracking!! I hope the actual applications at immi is also comparatively low. ( I know - fat hopes)
Cheers ,

"We are currently assessing applications lodged up to and including 16 July 2014."
A good jump after a long time. Hopefully, they will speed up more once all the June applicants will get their visa granted.
Oh now that's really great news.
-
dont get too excited. It's only moved from 04 July last Friday & 5th & 6th July 2014 was a weekend. It's only moved one working day again
I agree with you. Bad habits are surfacing again. There shouldn't have been a days movement when they were " supposed" to be slow only in May and June 2014. I'm also a bit shocked.

Hi,
Does anybody know, previously when there was fee increases for Parent Visas specifically for the 2nd Vac, was it implemented only for new applicants or existing applicants as well who were already in the pipeline? I am concerned because there was talk going around (productivity commission recommendations) about the new 5 year temporary visa and doubling of the parent visa fees from July 1st 2017. Again, if so do you think that it maybe specifically for applicants applying after July 1st or everyone processed thereafter?
Pls let me know your thoughts.
cheers.

Fantastic news, I bet you were grinning from ear to ear updating your time line to VISA GRANTED!!!
Nice one Geordie. I bet everyone will be grinning when you and Steve 2 update your status...meaning we have at last passed the big hurdle of 'June 2014s'.
Cheers

no, nothing. But they seem to update only once a week, on a Thursday or Friday. And once you've had a response with a new date, you won't get another unless the date has moved on. I think that's how it works.
Hi Catlady,
I think you are correct, it does make sense. Hope we will here some good news tomorrow.
Cheers,
Judy

Hi,
Is there a lucky person who got an auto reply for the 'test ' email?? I've sent 5 this week but no reply!!
-
Hi Steve2 and Georgiejoe ,
Have you heard anything from immi yet? ( I'm doing my own update LOL)
Cheers,
Judy
-
Dear Bridgie,
Same here. I thought their system was only ignoring me!! I have sent emails since last Tuesday- But no reply. Maybe they are planning a big surprise for us. Fingers crossed for tomorrow's update.
-
Hi Everyone,
Has anyone got a auto reply for the processing date?? My email was unanswered. :chatterbox:
-
Hi,
Does anyone have an update on the processing date? No reply to me 'Test' email.

Thanks Geoff & Gill. That's what surprises me too, the fact that the processing time is the the same on the website for both 143 and 864 visa categories. My concern is , What if 7000 864s apply in a particular month? Will they take up all that years Visa Allotments? This is stressing me out.
