Hello Everyone,
Just a quick one, can I sit for the citizenship test before I lodge citizenship application?
My 12 months after PR will complete in August 2017 and I got told by someone that I can book and sit in the test 6 months before than I'm eligible. And then later lodge an application?

Hi Nasir, we discussed this here some pages ago as a few of us were a bit concerned: http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=158703&page=3164 - note that since then, we have seen approvals for occupations that were flagged. Hoping that's a good sign. Starting to feel really sad and depressed now. This whole experience - and the hopping from visa to visa for nearly a decade now - has been torture. If this doesn't work out, I wonder where we can move..and if we still have the energy and "fight" needed to start all over again.:biglaugh:
Hi Izzie, I'm desperately waiting to read good news from you that "YOU HAVE GOT YOUR VISA GRANT" . Its just CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!I can imagine its extremely painful as you've been waiting for more than 10 months now.
I wish and pray that everyone on this forum gets their approval soon without any issue.

Hey Izzie! You are still here waiting for your grant?? This is horrendous  :arghh:

Hi @Nasir, did you make the observation based on comments in this forum? If allocation is based on skill level, I don't see why mine would be delayed given my qualifications and experience. My occupation is also under ANZSCO Skill Level 1 and I also know two academics whose grants took 10-12 months so it can't be that.
Or did you mean that they push back after approving X number of applicants with the same occupation?? Or prioritise occupations that are "in-demand" as per SOL? I hope not - that should only be for skillselect/state sponsored ones and not for 186! If they are making that a standard for allocation priority for ENS, that's unfair.
I'm so disheartened by this entire process.
186 DE | Nom: 08/04/16 Visa: 18/04/16
Hello Izzie,
my observation is based on comments in this forum since 2013. ok I'd like to do my calculation now. May I ask ur occupation and no of ppl have applied for 186 and is there any document have u been asked for?

Hi guys,
Rang immigration to ask since our nomination was lodged early April and there have been grants from mid-April, June and July. The lady I spoke to could only advice RE visa application and said that it hasn't even been allocated to a team yet and that they are still processing late FEB!
She was kind enough to say that MAYBE, given the current pace - apparently there has been some overtime lately - that it will likely be picked up over the next month. But no promises, of course. Feel so gutted - have been so anxious yet hopeful - thought that a large (company) employer plus our complete application counted for something but maybe they weigh other things more?
I don't understand why the processing times are so varied. Is it just due to chance or being HR or DE means it takes longer to even get a CO or a team allocation??
I noticed processing time depends on our occupation/skills. Immi serves us on the basis of skills and occupations that are in demand and less ppl have applied for those occupations in that year. I might be wrong

Hap id's on confirmation letter I think
I got asked by my MA to create an immi account and then obtain HAP ID through "my health declarations" before the application was lodged.

Declaration Form – Paying for visa sponsorship help?
Im really confused about what selection describes us, we find it very hard to understand what they are asking here.
The options are:
I declare that I have engaged in conduct in relation to this application that constitutes a
contravention of subsection 245AS(1) of the Migration Act 1958.
I declare that I have not engaged in conduct in relation to this application that
constitutes a contravention of subsection 245AS(1) of the Migration Act 1958.
* Tick on second box: I declare that I have NOT......
* And Tick on YES (if u have dependants otherwise Tick on NOT APPLICABLE): I declare that the declaration I have made, as the primary applicatants.......
-
I done my health assessment straight way after I received confirmation but I can't see my health assessment in my immi account ?
Not sure they receive or not!!
How did u obtain ur HAP ID? through my health declarations from ur Immi account?

Hello Everyone,
My son was born in Australia 5 months ago when we were on 457 visa and now we all are Permanent Residence.
I have been living in Australia for 8 years so I understand that I'm elegible for citizenship after 12 months.
Could you pls advise when my son is eligible for citizenship, does he has to wait for 4 years or right after 12 months from the date we received PR as he was born in Australia?
thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if LR/HR or Transition/Direct Entry make any difference to the processing times? Perhaps we could update the spreadsheet to do some graphs on the average times for each of these variables.
I reckon, it doesn't make any difference in terms of time

Wow Nasir, CONGRATS! We have been here that long too - too long so yes, the waiting game is a killer. Your relief must be overwhelming. Enjoy the freedom!!
yeah you're right! what a peaceful sleep I had last night, didn't want to come to work this morning LOL. I wish and pray that you all get yours soon but I know this waiting game is extrememly difficult. Try to avoid thinking too much about the visa even its pretty much impossible as I know we can't divert our mind easily.
-

Has anyone got letter from immigration regarding adverse information recieve not to approve the nomination and invitation to comment...
Not sure mate but This is what Immigration website says:
Invitation to comment
If another person gives the department information that could result in you being refused a visa, the department will give you an opportunity to comment on the information. You will need to comment by a set date.

Hi all, my employer applied for my nomination separately - I have the acknowledgement letter, but not their online login - does anyone know if I can check progress of my nomination without having to bug my employer? I'm so stressed lately that I check every single day...assuming the nomination goes through first, wouldn't mind if I check regularly myself.
Thanks!
You won't be able to check ur nomination part I reckon. you'll only be able to check ur Visa progress though on Immi account
-
