Talk about bad timing for us we have just found out our house sale in the UK goes through on 30th of June !
Beyond our control I suppose but on paper we have lost thousands overnight
Will just have to sit on the fence for a while to see if things improve oh joy
Same boat have lost thousands over night as my house sale is in the process of going through. Hope it recovers, I really do.
Especially for my pension that I cannot take with me.

There are similar conflicts you can describe all over Britain. Wales wanted it, Scotland didn't. London wanted in, the rest of England didn't. Older people wanted out (and have less time to live with the decision), younger people didn't.
The key for an incoming government is how best to heal the nation again to work towards an exit. The last thing anyone wants is the fault lines this referendum has opened up to widen.
Indeed very divided country.

why shouldn't they?
Anyone can vote which ever way they want. I am just stating a fact.
-
The older generation have voted for a future the younger don't want.

Hi I was hoping someone could help me.
I have been working freelance in London for the past 10 years.
I have my own Limited company and have an accountant who works out my tax.
I am moving to Brisbane in October and my plan was to close down my UK business and start one in Australia.
However, I have just had an offer from my current contract,
they want to keep me on in Australia working remotely!!
BUT he would like to employ me full-time on a Salary.
Looking into it I am a little worried I will have to pay Tax in UK and Australia if I am on salary.
Has anyone had similar experiences?
Thanks

Hi The Raillys,
We applied for my husbands partner visa yesterday and have just come across your thread. So much to take in!!! I like you wasn't sure if we had to complete all the evidence because we are married. Looks like we'll be uploading more documents. Have you had your partner visa granted yet?
Hello sorry I missed this.
Yes we are ready to leave the Uk early October. The visit took under 5 months to come through. Very fast was not expecting it, the average on here seems to be 7 and a half months
-
Thanks Marsia. I have heard similar things.
My cats are 90% indoor cats now and this was part of my decision to take them with me.
I have also seen some really good options for cat proofing your back garden in Australia, so they cannot leave a fenced property.
http://oscillot.com.au being a really good one

I have started the process and are shipping mine in October.
For two cats it works out approximately
Vet Bills: £400 need to get rabies 7 months prior to flying
Flights £2500. - this does depend on their weight and what box you get - or if you supply your own. I have gone gold with Pet air - you could get cheaper.
Quartaine fees £1500 - depending on exchange rate - (could increase dramatically if we leave EU)
So all up using pet air gold service for two cats £4400
Its a big decision to make.

With the EU Referendum to Leave or Remain in the EU, I am concerned about the GBP currency exchange rate into Australian dollars. Any advice?!
Me too with my house in London on the market right now and my pension that I am not allowed to take to Oz. And Out vote would be disastrous to my finances

I feel the same, I have two cats due to fly in a few months and I cry thinking about it.
It is so nice to hear stories of people who have done it.
all the best x

No idea who our CO was. Had no contact until now!
-
I have no idea if it is related but we are heading to oz tomorrow for a two week holiday visiting family and working out where we want to move. We had sorted a tourist visa but now looks like will be entering on a 309!
Will be moving in October so happy!

-
Any day now Spriteley! fingers are crossed for you!
-
We got our 'visa ready to grant' email on Thursday!!!!! Now to get my partner out of the country for it to be granted!!!!!! Whooooooohhoooooooooo!!!
YAY! knew it would nearly be there!
-
Totally understand your frustration,
I am a contract worker, and are not taking contracts longer than 6 months, as we want to go as soon as we can. I have had to turn down great paying jobs!
Also wanting to put the house on the market and arrange the cats to move.. all very hard without knowing a date.
Judging by the date you applied and everyones timescales I am sure it will be any day now for you AusCitizen

Pet stock sell Pet Pals ones. https://www.petstock.com.au/products/132811000239?gclid=CNOppf7Dy8sCFdcRvQodQJQCJA
To be honest I've seen some gorgeous ones in America over the years but never seen anything that has the wow factor here or when I was in the UK
Thanks Pom Queen that is a good find! I like it although a little small.
That website even has the vesper ones! But they are more expensive in OZ. As can be expected.
I did find a few other good ones.
Harvey Norman

and
http://www.mypetwarehouse.com.au/pawise-platform-twin-seagrass-house-and-play-toy-p-22922
but the prices are nearly twice as expensive!
-
good point! Thank you I never thought about that.
I am sure the vesper ones are just like an other piece of furniture, but maybe the woven baskets could cause an issue?
-
Yes I am asking about cat trees! lol
My cats love theirs and are just trying to work out if it I should be shipping them to OZ?
I like nice looking cat trees.
No Faux fur!
We love Karlie, Vesper & Pet pals cat trees, but none of these brands are available in Australia.
I have searched online for cat trees Australia and all I get is Faux fur ones.
Has anyone in Australia found a more stylish option?
Thanks

Your time to validate your visa is taken from the date of your medical or police check, whichever is first. So no point doing them early as this gives less time to validate. Better to wait till asked and then book them for the timeframe your CO gives. They usually get in touch around 3 months after lodging and ask you to do medical and police check about 3 months later and give an on or after date.
Thanks wish we had of found this forum before we applied. We are planning on going about September, if all goes well.
How long do you have to get to Australia once it is granted? I found the checklist
https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/309-/Partner-(Provisional)-visa-(subclass-309)-and-Partner-(Migrant)-visa-(subclass-100)-document-checklist
Thank you
And Congratulations Amy21!
