I have started the process and are shipping mine in October.
For two cats it works out approximately
Vet Bills: £400 need to get rabies 7 months prior to flying
Flights £2500. - this does depend on their weight and what box you get - or if you supply your own. I have gone gold with Pet air - you could get cheaper.
Quartaine fees £1500 - depending on exchange rate - (could increase dramatically if we leave EU)
So all up using pet air gold service for two cats £4400
Its a big decision to make.

OMG OMG OMG!!!! We've just had our visa granted (both 309 and 100), after 3 months and 5 days - cannot quite believe it!! Wow. X
You are now the fastest! Congratulations!
-
No idea who our CO was. Had no contact until now!
-
I have no idea if it is related but we are heading to oz tomorrow for a two week holiday visiting family and working out where we want to move. We had sorted a tourist visa but now looks like will be entering on a 309!
Will be moving in October so happy!

We got our 'visa ready to grant' email on Thursday!!!!! Now to get my partner out of the country for it to be granted!!!!!! Whooooooohhoooooooooo!!!
YAY! knew it would nearly be there!

Totally understand your frustration,
I am a contract worker, and are not taking contracts longer than 6 months, as we want to go as soon as we can. I have had to turn down great paying jobs!
Also wanting to put the house on the market and arrange the cats to move.. all very hard without knowing a date.
Judging by the date you applied and everyones timescales I am sure it will be any day now for you AusCitizen

Pet stock sell Pet Pals ones. https://www.petstock.com.au/products/132811000239?gclid=CNOppf7Dy8sCFdcRvQodQJQCJA
To be honest I've seen some gorgeous ones in America over the years but never seen anything that has the wow factor here or when I was in the UK
Thanks Pom Queen that is a good find! I like it although a little small.
That website even has the vesper ones! But they are more expensive in OZ. As can be expected.
I did find a few other good ones.
Harvey Norman

and
http://www.mypetwarehouse.com.au/pawise-platform-twin-seagrass-house-and-play-toy-p-22922
but the prices are nearly twice as expensive!
-
good point! Thank you I never thought about that.
I am sure the vesper ones are just like an other piece of furniture, but maybe the woven baskets could cause an issue?
-
Yes I am asking about cat trees! lol
My cats love theirs and are just trying to work out if it I should be shipping them to OZ?
I like nice looking cat trees.
No Faux fur!
We love Karlie, Vesper & Pet pals cat trees, but none of these brands are available in Australia.
I have searched online for cat trees Australia and all I get is Faux fur ones.
Has anyone in Australia found a more stylish option?
Thanks

Your time to validate your visa is taken from the date of your medical or police check, whichever is first. So no point doing them early as this gives less time to validate. Better to wait till asked and then book them for the timeframe your CO gives. They usually get in touch around 3 months after lodging and ask you to do medical and police check about 3 months later and give an on or after date.
Thanks wish we had of found this forum before we applied. We are planning on going about September, if all goes well.
How long do you have to get to Australia once it is granted? I found the checklist
https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/309-/Partner-(Provisional)-visa-(subclass-309)-and-Partner-(Migrant)-visa-(subclass-100)-document-checklist
Thank you
And Congratulations Amy21!

We were near four months. Applied 15 August, got CO 11 December. Some people apparently never hear from co at all until visa granted if you upload police and medicals at start.
Which we have! I have moments of feeling nervous, like the immi system is not working or I have forgotten stuff, (which I have..)
So desperate to move, But are guessing it will be September by the time we get going.

Its your supporting statement. Both of you need to write one. It lists it in the evidence required.
And yes, even if you are married. Have to cover things like how you met, nature of the relationship (ie who works, how you split or share costs, kids, life together etc).
Ahh THANK YOU! I wonder how much other stuff we missed
-
When do you get assigned a CO normally?
We applied three months ago and have not hear a thing?
-
Relationship statement? I don't think we have done that? I did not see that on our immi account?
Do you need to do that if you are married?
-
You know, it would now probably have been quicker for my husband and I to have sat it out in different countries after our marriage until we had been married for three years, and then applied for the visa. We would have got his PR straight away.
Instead we stupidly applied after getting married, April 2013, got the Temp visa, hung around for the 2 years, and have now been waiting 9 months since submitting all the PR paperwork - with no sign of a PR grant and estimates being bandied around that he still may have another 10 months to wait.
On the point of giving up and going home as he keeps getting rejected for jobs due to having no PR.
----------------------------
For anyone applying now, the PR grants are stuck in a queue behind all the onshore applicants who came here to apply after the price increase.
Thats no good! so without PR is it hard to find work?
-
Hi @tracy8099 - thanks for updating this! just to add to the table in case it's of use to anyone else: we got our subclass 100 visa around the 17th Jan, our case officer's first initial was L and we applied without an agent.
Just to let you know for the chart we are 309/100
-
Congratulations!! was hoping to hear from you soon! So happy! how long did it take?
-
It wasn't hard, but would not say easy..
Confusing, is how I would describe it.
So many different forms to fill out and it felt like we were giving the same info over and over.
Sponsor application 40sp
1221 form
80 form
2x 888 forms, etc
Not really too many clear guidelines on what to do, still worried we missed something!

What knowone is saying is if they are using a Migration Specialist - or if they are going direct through the Australian Embassy.
And if they are doing postal or online application. I am sure it will be different for all the options.
-
Good Luck - To you. hoping to hear your good news

Hello sorry I missed this.
Yes we are ready to leave the Uk early October. The visit took under 5 months to come through. Very fast was not expecting it, the average on here seems to be 7 and a half months
