Not yet... Sorting holiday accom now. Some estate agents hv replied so will meet up with them when land, plenty of rentals avail tho so not too worried. Has anyone shipped an older dog to oz? We hv had our dog since he was 8wks old...worried he is too old and he wont cope with heat/humidity of qld. Just dont know what to do... Leave him behind or take him. Family is already crying at thought of leaving him... Its so hard. Ahh thats ok, we had snakes and red backs over WA, saw more red backs and only one snake in the year we were there, so not too bad. I think its the thought of seeing a huntsman or one of those jumping spiders in my house! eek! :spider::shocked: Are there crocodiles there? I always thought they were north but according to internet they are further down? lol

We lived in a place called Moora in WA bk in 2012. That had a population of 1500 approx, that was a quiet country town too. Im looking forward to coming over to qld as never been. :-) ps. Aiming to fly to brisbane 28 nov. Lots of planning to do as currently in Spain! (but thats another story! Lol). Driving bk to uk, calais to dover. Will hv 3days saying goodbyes... Again lol... thankyou cal. we prefer quiet life. we go to the bigger cities for our holidays instead. We emigrated to Moora, WA in 2012 with no Jobs, within 3 wks I was offered 3 different Jobs, my hubby took longer and got a job in 8 wks, but again offered 2. Our biggest regret was leaving, we had a great life there, just failed to see it at time. Nevermind, we have a new opportunity and fancy a change of scenery, so thought hey, why not QLD! lol.

ok thankyou. I did briefly look at toowoomba, also watched wanted down under and the family went there. Ill take another look. :-) x

I want to pursue my chef career further, but have had nursing experience (qualified years ago, but reg has since lapsed), recently I worked as a phlebotomist. We have also managed pubs in the uk. I worked as a sales assistant during my stint in WA. My husband has previously worked as a gardener on the parks and gardens crew for the shire of moora. He also managed pubs and has had warehouse experience, with forklift. haha so anything lol ;-) We will be budgeting ourselves for mínimum wage, initially renting within our means (our last house in moora was nothing to shout about, but it did us, dirt cheap rent at the time 170 pwk!). I do have money to invest in buying a property eventually. My hubby is also an aussie citizen, so maybe entitled to first buyers scheme. Im trying to look at áreas that we can afford to live in, hence moved away from Brisbane. I looked at Townsville also. Thankyou for reply x

Thankyou for reply srg73 :-) We were looking at emigrating back to WA (lived there back in 2012 for a year), we were going to go back there, but i have had a change of mind and really fancy the east coast. Reading ppls views I have chosen QLD. We have never been, so really trying to research áreas. Are there any regional towns that are worth a look? We are a family of 4 with 2 kids aged 7 & 9. We lived in a regional town before, 2 hrs north of Perth, so have experienced isolation before lol. Part of me thinks ill just get a dart, and throw it on the map! ;-) cheers guys x
