  1. I front loaded PCC/Form80 and medicals were done during 457 visa application that was approved a week prior I applied for 189. So I had all ducks lined up ...
  2. I just got my grant. Submitted my application on Jan 19th, grant letter of Feb 11th. I did have 457 visa approved though and was supposed to fly tomorrow on that visa to start my new job on Monday, but I'll be flying on 189 instead!
  3. I had a question too, my oldest is born Jun 2004 and is currently Primary 6, I was told she may be presented with the option to go to high school. I'm not sure what to make of it. I think I'd prefer for her to stay back and finish P6, I can't really see any upside with rushing to high school. Is there something I'm missing perhaps ?
  4. So CaptainC, What do I then, upload the same PCC and Form 80 or do I have to pay the fee all over again for new PCC and re-sign Form 80 with new date and upload those ?
  5. NSW, Sydney, I kinda liked Melbourne more but oh well, I'll go anywhere for a right price
  6. I wasn't expecting approval that quick either, after reading this thread even though MA did tell me that processing time will be 2-3 weeks back when it was lodged. But yeah, looks like sometimes luck gets on my side.
  7. My 457 was approved today. Application submitted on Dec 24th and approved on Jan 12th, high risk country.
  8. Searched forum and didn't find any similar topics. I have got 457 in process and I also got an invite for 189 too. I was also told that I should wait applying for 189 until after 457 is finalized (this was by lawyers handling 457) and another piece of advice was to apply for 189 onshore (this advice came from relocation agent) after I arrived to OZ on 457 as apparently onshore 189 filings are processed faster. Is there any truth in onshore vs offshore 189 processing ?
  9. Captain, I believe there is never too much data :ssign7:, so here one data point for the noble job you are doing: EOI date : 31 Oct 2015 Invite date: 8 Jan 2016 Points: 60 SOL code: 263113
  10. Ok, that's interesting bit about cancellation, thanks for info. I will hold off on applying on 189 then, better play it safe.
  11. good time of day to you all, I got a fairly decent offer and employer will start 457 processing next week. I'm also expecting 189 invite either next week or first round in Jan 2016. I'm not quite sure what will get processed faster: 457 or 189 ? My intent in the end is to settle in AU so naturally 189 seems like a better choice however I really want to move to AU before school year starts and was thinking perhaps I should go with 457 assuming it's processed faster and then apply for 189 ? My passport is from high risk country though (one of those that Donald Tramp wants to ban) so perhaps my assumption about faster 457 is not warranted ?.
