Yes, we are aware of that already that is why I am considering studying a course which is closer to my profession. I am learning the process of applying through apprenticeship. Its quite difficult to look for companies that offer such.

Recognized like by the engineers australia? My wife's credentials were assessed by them. We didn't bother having mine assessed as it was enough for our application. Yes, i have looked at seek.com.au...everyday. I was informed my experience in the middle east and the philippines is not relevant, way to bursting my confidence with those words. We chose sydney because this is where my wife's sister lives...she helped out when we had the baby. I did some research and going back to school might increase my chance of practising my profession.

When we have decided to move here I am slightly prepared for the life that we will have. Meaning we will start back to zero. My wife and I are both engineers from the Middle East but Filipinos by citizenship. We moved from Abu Dhabi to Sydney just this September 2015. Finding the same job that I used to do in Abu Dhabi is very difficult. So I tried doing odd jobs just to meet ends especially that my wife just had a baby. What else should I do just to be able to practice civil engineering here? I work for a fabriation company right now. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Just found this thread. We moved here just this year September and it us very difficult to find a job especially in line with my profession. I am a Civil Engineer. Do you guys happen to know any openings? like for foreman position?
