  1. Hi there I can feel the pain you are going through I have a question why didn't you apply nom and visa together

    hi AlwaysaloneM,

thanks for that. We weren't 100% that the Nomination would go through so following our MA's advice we waited until we got it approved. After that, we were hoping it would take 2-3 months for our Visa to be granted as it took to someone in my company who did it the same way a few years ago, but it seems like IMMI Service Standards have gotten much worse since then.

  2. @JanJanJan thanks for you information. Ha ha ha mate they r checking October file aswel for sure. See the post from Octran he/she got CO officer 17th October. @Octran isn't it.

hope you're right and someone's checking Nov files too...

It's been almost one year since my company lodged the Nomination and I've been through a lot during this time. I can't wait for the day I can say I'm a Permanent Resident.

All the best to everyone waiting!

  3. Really confused how this works. How are people getting approvals in Nov Dec then?

Must be all of Sept split up one CO got a easy batch and was able to move to the next load maybe.

Must be something like that, yep...

Today's my 6 months mark so I reckon I'm giving IMMI a call in the next few days for a follow-up.

  4. Hey guys congrats to the guys who got their pr granted after all these frustrating months.. Just wanted to know if its alright to call immi before the files being allocated and what are their answer usually in these case i applied my visa n nom on oct 17 and no news yet its getting way too frustrating now

I would have called already if I were you, mate. Good luck, you're nearly there! :)

  5. Hi Folks,

I am wondering if anyone can help me

I put in my application for initial approval in June 2015, I received my nomination approval on the 11th December 2015 and I put in my full application with payment on the 30th March 2016...Does anyone know what the timeline for response is? I am in no great rush for it at all! Just Curious!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Regards,

    Scott

I didn't even know about this "application for initial approval" thing! I waited until the Nomination was approved to lodge my application.

Hope it works for you and you get your PR soon!

  6. Hello Everyone. I hope u all r doing great.

I am a Dentist from Pakistan and am being sponsored to work in a Dental Surgery in Sydney.

I wanted to know, for the nomination process, how hard is it to show that my employer genuinely requires an overseas employee to fill a position? And does the employer have to show evidence that he/she tried to find a local to fill the spot but couldn't? Im asking this b/c my employer can easily hire a local Dentist to work for him but as he knows me personally and will be more comfortable with me working for r him, he is willing to sponsor me in the position.

What do u guys say about this?

I'm not a MA nor an expert in this topic. I'm just another 186 applicant so here's just my personal view: the fact that your employer will be more comfortable with you working for him rather than having someone else -Australian or PR- doing the same job doesn't sound -by itself- like a solid reason to sponsor you.

But as long as he can proof that he's been doing research for candidates to fill a genuine, existing position at market salary rates and has been unsuccessful, he should be able to sponsor you. As far as I know there's no specific guideline on how to proof that, but common sense is to use job advertisements (seek.com.au, etc) and salary guides such as the one published by Hays as a benchmark.

Anyway, he better gets advice from some professional MA in Sydney that can help him with the Nomination stage.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!

  7. My nomination was lodged on 14th dec 2014 and finally got approved on 30th july 2015. visa lodged november 2015 and still waiting. its been already 1 year 4 months long wait.. Cant control my patience..

    hi eish234!

I totally understand your frustration... on top of my employer taking ages after the 2-year mark to apply for the Nomination, I had to delay my visa application lodgement until the Nomination was approved.

"Should I've done it all together, I would have got my PR months ago" is something I think of every day but it doesn't help at all and at that moment, waiting for the outcome of the Nomination was the wiser choice. So now just focus on the positive side... anytime between now and May 10th can be our day! And if that's not the case, in accordance to their Standard Processing Times, we'll have our right to call Immi and have someone to check at it.

    Stay strong, mate! :)

  8. Hey all,

First of all, I've been looking at this thread for the past week or so & meaning to register but didn't get around to it, so apologies for that!

Not sure if this helps anyone, but I just received my PR approval on Friday.

    Background is as follows:

    Nom & Applic submitted 19 Jan 2016

    Approved 09 April 2016

LR country & work for a big bank.

My partner already has PR (doc) & we have a child who is now a citizen, so pretty low risk.

    Done through NSW.

I appreciate others have been waiting for ages, & I'm really sorry & feel guilty that mine has been approved so quick, but I hope & pray that you'll all get yours soon.

Any questions, just ask & will be happy to share knowledge!

wow, congrats! that's one of the shortest timelines I've seen around here! :) don't feel guilty, mate. On the contrary, that gives us hopes that they're speeding up things.

ps. pity I don't work for a big bank ;) just joking, that shouldn't have anything to do with it

  9. In my case, I answered "No" for my wife as I was the one (principal applicant) that was being sponsored. My wife and kids are all listed in my employer nomination. Must be I've done it right as I was not questioned about it.

I checked on these forums and someone had asked IMMI about that here: http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/214044-form-80-question-50-please-help.html

Apparently IMMI confirmed them that the employer's information on the secondary applicant form has to be filled in. Given that in your case you were granted your PR, I reckon that IMMI must be a bit flexible with this.

  10. Mine was not the case, it never had the green tick but when the CO requested for additional docs, everything went green. Then from that day on, the additional docs that I submitted automatically get green tick. Must be a case to case basis.

must be. Or hopefully there's some CO already looking at my files :)

  11. The status of your attachments will change as well when the CO is already reviewing your application, it will have the green tick (Received).

I've always seen the "green tick (Received)" status on the attachments as soon as I've uploaded them. My understanding is that that status refers to whether the document has been received by (i.e. uploaded to) the system.

  12. Good morning everyone,

Received the good news this morning, my details are below:

    Nomination submitted: 30th of September.

Visa submitted 30th of September 2015.

    Transition stream.

Nom and visa granted 8th of April NSW.

    Construction Estimator.

Best of luck to those waiting.

    congrats, Mike! :)

definitely looks like they're processing late September files

    c'mon!!!

  13. @Sheila ask MA to call them, if u want. My opinion not to call coz no point, same ans everytime. May b I'm wrong. Since I applied never call immi or MA. coz everyone passing same problem, we will get the same ans from them...up to u now.

well, there's no reason to call Immi to check your visa application status before the 6 months mark but after that it's totally fine to call them and ask.

    From an automated DIBP e-mail:

"Where your application is within the published service standard you will not receive a response with regards to status, progress or allocation enquiries."

  14. 1. Latest Payslips (to confirm you still working for the same company)

    2. Make sure the police clearance's are valid till May/June 16. (ex: expired Dec 15)

    3. Form 80

    hi GeeVee,

re the latest payslips, did they ask you for them before the nomination was approved or after? did you attach them to your visa application or to your employer's nomination?

    thanks! :)

  15. australia is full of refugees. the easiest way of getting pr is refugee and partner visa. but people like us spend a lot of money in last 8 years for education and all that worked really hard, been paying tax every year. but alas immi doesnt give a damn

    nom and visa 7/09/15

    NSW

all due respect, you may have been working pretty hard and spending a lot of money in the last 8 years but come on, you're not fleeing your own country after years of civil war nor you're being prosecuted by terrorists

(that's how far I'm going to get into this debate, don't want to go too much off-topic)

  16. u still around here mate. if i was u i would have been in the mental hospital. good luck mate i pray for u.

    nom and visa 7/09/15

    NSW

I'm about to get in one of those I think... Nomination lodged back in May '15, approved in October, Visa lodged in early November, still no news about it, not even processing it ("Application received").

Didn't want to risk my Application before knowing the outcome of the Nomination but never thought it would take another 6 months for it...
