Hell all,
this is my first post. I have Lived in Freo in Perth in the past, it didn't work out. I have visited Brissie and LOVED it there. I feel like the time is right now too make the move again, this time with 5 year old daughter and her Dad in tow !
Finding a place to live wasn't so tricky last time round, it didn't really matter if I got it wrong, but given my DD will be in school and uprooting her once will be tricky enough, I really want to get it right first time !
So, I was hoping for some guidance, good schools are my biggest priority and as such I have come up with a shortlist of Ascot, Hawthorn, Bardon and Bulimba. I also love being by the river, want to be as close as possible to a child friendly beach, and would ideally love to be within walking distance of cafes, shops, markets, a park and such like. A tall order, I know !
I have also wondered about the best use of outside space. I remember in Perth that it was often too hot for much garden play. Properties seem to either have a pool or decent grassy garden space for a play, so I am wondering which is the most valuable. Do families with kids in Brissie value a pool or grassy area more ?
Finally, I do worry about how my daughter will settle. Do any of you have any experiences to share in terms of how your kids settled and coped with being away from friends and family ?
thank you
Julia :-)
