We don't have to be near the beach but somewhere in east Melbourne would be preferable because my family lives there. Hello everyone, My fiance and I are looking into moving to Melbourne. We are hesitating because of the housing prices and the job market. Could you tell me how the job market currently is for developers? I put my husbands details below because I know that there is a lot of difference between jobs (and I am an IT dummie ). Are all the available jobs in the CBD? Is it doable to live in a cheaper (but nice) suburb further away without having to commute for more than an hour? Software developer, frameworks, engines, desktop applications, databases, websites, high performance, system design, cross platform, distributed computing. Specialties: C++, C#, PHP, SQL, EcmaScript, Windows, Linux, OS X, BSD, SQL, Qt, VCL, .NET4.5, Pascal, TCP/IP, UML, WCF, Linq, WPF, ORM, jQuery, ASP.NET MVC4, Silverlight, MVVM, iOS, Objective C, Java, Android. (he really dislikes working with java though) I would really appreciate your input. Thanks in advance.
