Yea the process isnt clear at all! And it doesnt say anywhere not to do them before you apply, I did it three months before I did my onshore applciation. Thats when they told me they could extend them by 6 months cuz the onshore application is an even longer processing time! My Medicals had expired before I got my decsion!

Just had another look at letter, at the bottom it say section1- further information. Section 2- health and character checks required but then only has section 1 asking for form 956 to b sent with in 28 day no section 2 added.... Very strange. Will have to get H2b to forward me the whole email not just attached letter or give me email address so I can email co & let her know!!
Yea im pretty sure its on the attachment, worth double checking, tbh I would just do it anyways, I have done mine!

first-time poster... be gentle!
I thought I'd add my information: this thread has been really useful to stop us from feeling like we're completely alone. Only right that I, also, add my details for others who'll come after me.
I was quite concerned about the lack of a case officer for six weeks after my visa application was lodged online; but good things come to those who wait, it appears. Advice to others is not to panic.
I plan to move out to Brisbane in mid November, with my Aussie partner and young daughter - maybe on the 17th - on a tourist visa. If I've understood correctly from the current waiting times, I might be given a visa in February; but my guess is that probably I'll be given the visa annoyingly just after my 90 day maximum has elapsed, so I'll have a few trips out of the country and back again.
My stats: Spouse 309/100 visa lodged online 15/04/15. CO assigned 01/06/15 (KP). No further info requested. Police check done in 04/15. Medical done in 08/15.
Welcome!!!
I too have KP as my CO!
Hopefully it works out that you only have to leave the once to get your visa!

Mine just asked for a 956 formed to be filled in & signed but that's just form so agent can work on my behalf... Not sure why agent didn't already upload that with everything else!! But anyway all done now. Other than that only said time scale at least 10/14 mths!!! didnt say anything about when to do medical's
Mine didnt say anything at all, i just got an automated email!
It did say not to do my medicals until 15 December though, you sure yours didnt say @Jen44? Ive already done mine though, I was told during another application that they can be extended by 6 months anyways!
-
The 2 months has actually gone quite quickly! I hope it continues like this! PMA!

-
Ah well thanks for letting us know Eifster!
Maybe we wont hear anything from them then this week! I emailed to let them know I was in Oz too and got an email back saying the same ' your case officer will be informed' so there isnt anything more I need to get in touch with them about really!
I was just wanting the timeframes confirmed really lol!
It must be nice knowing your getting close now! exciting times!

Jen44 this is our week to get a case officer assigned! yay! keep me posted when/if you hear something, im in oz so I reckon an email will come through when im asleep!

Anyone get there Co this week????
I wish, I havent heard a peep out of them! Hopefully this week or next hey! I aslo informed them that I was currently in Australia and didnt hear back from that either!
-
I'm gonna keep my eye on people who done their application in March, once they have their grant that's my 3 month count down. Will arrange shipping for the following month if poss, give notice on the house, move in with family & as soon as I get my visa will book flights for following month...... Well that's the plan in my head lol fingers crossed it all goes as smooth as that!! Lol
Yea thats a really good idea, tbh I will be keeping an eye out the whole time no doubt!
it must be so horrible having to wait to do all that, I'm already in oz so it's no way near as bad!
-
I applied on 19th June but still no CO yet, was told by agent would probably be 3/4 weeks...... Maybe taking longer at mo!! Still on the up side one month down ?? To go lol
Heck yes we are one month down! 9 to go (well thats hoping!)
I too have no case officer yet!
-
i can't wait to get that feeling ......but one month down...?????? To go lol
Jen44 it looks like we are going to be visa buddiesI too applied on the 19th of June
-
We applied December 27th but from New Zealand he's English I'm Aussie didn't get a CO until June we were worried about not having one for so long. Ended up fine and visa approved yesterday so just over 6 months for the whole process for us.
Do you know whether the visa was processed in the London office? I too am English but applied in Malaysia, but mine has been sent to the London office for processing.
you are lucky! 6 Months is great! do you have any special cuircumstances or anything that may have led to the early grant?
-
So my Case has been referred to the London office, even though I applied in Malaysia, so looks like im on the same waiting times as most on this forum...
What email address can I email the London office at, anyone?
Thanks

Can I get the medical done in Australia even though I've applied offshore? I'll be going on an Evisitor visa in August, I've not been asked to do my medical yet so should I wait or just do it before I leave?
You can have your medical done whilst in Australia even if you applied Offshore... I did mine yesterday. I didnt wait until I was asked for it, I just did it... as part of a different applciation process immigration themselves told me that they can extend your medical and police checks for 6 months. With immigration though you just never know, they change things and what not all the time. I did mine based on the fact that they are all come through within a year atm anyways so it would still be valid anyways.
-
The Aus immigration website has changed and I do not appreciate it one bit!! Just to be clear, when I am granted the Subclass 300 and once we get married, do I apply straight away for the partner visa? It's so confusing (and expensive).
When are you getting married? I thought this visa bought you time to get married and then once you are married you can applied for the partener visa?!

Hi
this is my first post on here x I was ready to begin the application process for my husbands visa today only to find out the price has drastically increased and I will have to wait another 2 months to be able to afford it! Has anyone else had pricing issues?
We are not massively reliant on time as I am currently mid way through my nursing degree so we cannot move to Oz until February/March 2017. Any advice/tips would be much appreciated. Our current set up is myself (PR - current RRV as not lived in oz for 11 years), my husband (requires 309/100), 2 teenage sons (born in oz, have Aussie father), daughter born in England (requires visa, attaching it to husbands). Price estimate today is roughly $8,500 (ouch!). Will pay in dollars as I have money in NAB account so can pay that way.
just want to begin the process! The wait is killing me!! Just want to know its sent and the process has begun!
good luck to everyone already waiting xxx
oh you poor thing, its a massive increase isnt it!!!!
-
You probably already know but the medical is valid for a year so if your visa takes longer than that to grant, you'll have to pay for it again.
They can extend your medical for 6 months as well as your police checks, thats what the told me. So im really hoping it will be all done and usted by then!
-
It always shows straight away
Thanks Nemesis! I'm being a rebel then and doing it now and not waiting for the CO to tell me to lol!

It isnt stated anywhere on the Australian website (well not that I can see) and I didnt apply in the UK so have never visited this website before at all.
The Department of Immigration in Australia told me in writing that they can extend medicals for 6 months and Police checks for even longer in certain cases.
