9 months and 1 day! Awesome stuff. How long did they quote for you? 10-14?
Yes was quoted the 10-14 months. Was very surprised and happy that I got it so quickly......

Hay Aussiegirl its all go for us we fly out 1st week of September. Very excited a little nervous and a bit stressed with trying to sort everything and pack (not easy with all the kids with me) otherwise all is going well not long now
-
So how long was the wait in the end? Massive congrats.
Hi Ballbox Ive been lucky got mine in 9 months and 1 day
-
Congratulations! Can I ask how long you have been with your partner? I'm hoping my fiance goes straight to the 100 but not sure of what they consider to be long enough. We have been together in a relationship (as well as living together, we met as housemates) for 6 and a half years.
Hi ozmichelle we have been together 10 years (married 8 years) and have 3 children.
-
Congratulations, what a relief for you. Did you get the 100 or the 309?
Hiya I got the 100 such a relief
-

Hi all congrats to all those that have just received their visa grants... exciting times ahead.... just a silly question... how soon can you enter Australia once you get the notification of visa grant?
-
Visa GRANTED... 9 months 2 weeks 6 days! To say I'm on cloud nine is an understatement! What a day. .. celebrated my little boys 2nd birthday yesterday and more celebrating to do tonight! Xx
:ssign19: OMG congratulations very happy for you and gives the rest of us some hope too. Fingers crossed that ours will be around the same time line as you x

When I told my CO I was flying out in October he said to get in touch before I go and he might be able to help get the visa sorted.
fingers crossed they will issue most visas around the 10 month mark for us all. It would make life a lot easier if I get it before we go. hay ho what will be will be.... just gotta wait and see....
-
personaly id wait closer the time as its possible your plans may get overlooked and the CO may not remember getting the email. But if they know your flight details nearer the time they might just swing the grant for you. I guess it depends on how many their allowed to generate in that month.
hmmm well you never know... I might wait till Im at the 9 month mark and send CO email then..
Will keep you updated with whats going on...
-
Were hoping the same, it would save alot of further expense. Weve already told our CO but are going to email him again the week before our flight just to see what happens. Ive seen others on here do the same close to the granting time frame and it has worked.
It would make life easier if visa was granted and save quite a bit to. Do you think I should tell CO now? or wait till nearer the time to let CO know?
-
Are you letting your CO know your going out? He or she might grant your visa so you dont have to do the 3 day thing.
its on my list of things to do tomorrow (last day before kids break up from school). Would be nice if that happend hay.

Hi Lea
Can I ask if you are there on a tourist visa? Looks like the 10 month mark is the timeframe for most people which means hubby's and step-daughter's be through end of January (lodged end of March).
My youngest at crucial stage in education (starts year 11 this September in the UK) and wrote asking for compassionate grounds to go earlier but unfortunately schooling not seen as good enough reason......
So....plan is to apply for tourist visa beginning of October, apparently they take a month (?) so if we got that beginning of November, all systems go for house content and tickets booked for end of November. I have read that you can extend the 3 month limit (we may need to as margins will be tight) but being there then means girls can at least be accepted into the school we want and spend a couple of days there before they break up. Hubby obviously wouldn't be able to work but 2 months wouldn't kill us and we'd be there for Xmas :-)
Anyone else any advice for going through this route??
Annaleis :-)
Hello there we are doing the same.... I'm going out on a evisitor visa in Sept which will be 3 days before my 10 month mark is up but its only me that needs the visa as hubby and our 3 girls are Aussie citizens. It was the issue with starting school in September that we made the decision to go earlier rather than wait so we can get the girls in to school asap... The only thing that will be hard is when I have to leave for 3 days but we have Aussie nan coming up to help us hopefully they will be ok and I get a 3day mini holiday (havent had a day with no child for 10 years I wont know what too do with my self lol)
I applied on line for my evisitor visa. I applied on Friday and got my grant this morning (Monday) so all seems good...

There are exciting times ahead for all us Poms, I'm looking forward to hearing from people once they land and find their new paths!
Ooohhhhh... come on DP, a few giddy kippers in our house tonight!
Crack open the bubbly PJd2628... cheers! Xx
Hopefully it will be your turn soon Jaclyn Hayes good luck x

So i spoke with ESC today just to confirm its ok to get a tourist visa and I explained why we need to go in september and was told that its all good and that if my visa is granted while im there they will ask me to leave for 3 working days. The lady I spoke with asked for my client ID so she could check my visa status and although they cant really tell you anything she did say im not really telling you this but its been finalised and in a que waiting to be granted but she didnt know how long the que is....
Now I have booked flights for Aus in September and have applied for visitor visa just incase.... fingers crossed I get Partner Visa before I go....
-
Ok guys, so i sent off an email to my CO at 11:25 this morning asking for a general update considering we are at 10 months on Sunday.
30 minutes later there was a response VISA GRANTED
To describe us as ecstatic is an understatement.
Good luck to all you out there, you next Jaclyn Hayes
WOOOOOOO HOOOOOO congratulations :jiggy:very very excited for you. When will you be going? Hope it wont be too long till they get to us November applicants...
-
Hi Jen, if you are under 31, you could go on the Working Holiday Visa, then you could work too. That's what I have done while waiting for the grant
Thanks for the suggestion but I am no longer under 31 (boo) and also I already used the Working Holiday Visa which is how I met my now husband.
-
Its 3 working days, no bank holidays or week ends. Your e visitor will automaticaly renew on entry. You can go out and back in for up to 12 months, 3 months at a time.
Again thank you for that as I misread the info (i thought it meant for up to 3 months in a 12 month period....)
That puts my mind to rest.
Now just to find out if hubby's wage will support all of us.... time to contact BOSS... and away we will go....
-
Hi, you can get another one but you have to leave Oz and re enter to activate another 3 months stay. I have an e visitor which will take me up to 14th Jan 2016. Flying out 14th October.
Thank you
Just one more question (or two), how long do I have to leave the country for before i can re-enter and do I have to apply for another evisitor visa?
-
Ok may be I am being a bit thick but just to ask if I go on a evisitor visa in Sept which is up to 3 months (Nov)..... can I get another one straight after? (hopefully wont need to but just in case as the 14 months takes me to Jan 2016....
Hope someone can help me thanks...
-
Yeah get an eVisitor visa, you can stay there for 3 months at a time but you can't work. That's what I'm doing (unless my PR is granted before I go).
thanks for that just wanted to make sure it will be ok......
Just another stupid question...... How do I let my CO know? As last time i tried to email him the automated message said it was for sending documents only and I never got a reply....
