  1. Last year, were there any visa grants in the first week of the year? I am concerned that there have been practically none since the new year, and I'm worried that it is a sign that something unique is happening at immi this year.

After checking the old records, I found that Jan 2015 got even lesser approvals than Dec 2014.

Dec 2014 got about 20 and Jan 2015 only got 15.

  2. No it is illegal brother, we can not cancel till we get the permit residency this is what my migration agent told me when I ask same question.

Then you should think of changing your MA.

Obviously, Medicare is considered as adequate arrangements for health insurance and when I cancelled my private insurance, the staff at insurance company confirmed this with me again.

Besides, you cannot exempt from Medicare Levy any more as soon as you lodge your PR visa application. So you if want to keep your private insurance, you have to pay double.

  3. Guys i need your help one question,my company is going to change ABN but Company name will remain Same does it going to effect visa or in visa processing

it will happened within a month so,now i m getting worried

Help if anyone know about that.

After you lodge your visa application, you can apply for Medicare immediately.

And after you get your Medicare card (even the temp card), you can stop your private insurance.

I did this a couple of monthly ago without any issue.

  4. Yes I am using MA. But some how my degree certificates are missing (not transcripts), so CO can't see my educational details. Hence CO asked for educational certificates and my MA in general term he used name "transcripts "

This is weird. You are from transition stream. Why did CO ask for degree certificate...

This should have been assessed while applying for visa 457 and shouldn't be required for visa 186.

  5. Has anyone who lodged their visa on 2nd July heard anything yet? I have had my nomination approved since May and now waiting 169 days so far for PR...

It's actually starting to really bother me that we have heard nothing as I did the application myself and starting to wonder if I have made some sort of error in the application ARGHHH

The biggest mistake we have made is submit nomination and visa application separately.

If you submit visa application after getting nomination approved, you got the lowest priority.

  6. Thanks guys.

I was checking the google doc on this website and the doco has some users who applied on July(even mid of July) and got their PR. I am hoping that they are doing July and also maybe the applications lodged on June but missing documentation.

I called the immigration office the other day and this lady told me that some applicants just lodge an application which doesnt have any supporting documents and that's why the processing times are getting longer most of the times.

So I believe if you lodged an application it's important to keep the docos valid and dont slow down your or other's processing time.

If you look at those approved July application, you will find that most of then submit their nomination in or before July.

I think they were just lucky to get their nomination and visa application processed together.

According to the old records, immi office did this a lot but not for everyone.

  8. I am going to overseas next week end, will return month end. My 457 expires on 21/Dec.

BVB costs $140 and you have to submit in-person in immigration office (no online process). It took 5 days to get approval, but as per immigration it is necessary to apply before two weeks of travel date. You have to provide substantial reason for your travel and duration must not exceed 3 months. And also I think, you can't apply BVB from overseas (not even extension). Bridging visa A will only allow you to remain in Australia only after your 457 expires and it is valid only when you are in Australia. Go through with this link https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/020-

I applied BVB once before and it was granted onsite immediately. Seems like even bridging visa takes longer to be processed...
