  1. As long as it's specified work, in a regional area, for 3 months (88 days), and is all signed off it would be from your first job

this is copied from a website:

Provided you have done 88 days work, either consecutively or over a period of time and have certified pay slips or completed the verification form then you should meet the requirements. Remember to keep your pay slips from your employers so that when it comes to applying you don’t have to chase them up

Thanks for the reply, yes the work and the region qualify and i will have it all signed off with payslips to back it up aswell.

Really hoping that it counts as 3 months from date i started first job because it means i only have 4 weeks left after NYE!!! lol

  2. Hi all...

Is there any Immigration Agents on here that could give me some quick advice please, I did 3 weeks and 2 days on one farm but then left that place and started on another farm the following day where i have been for the last 6 weeks and will be for the remainder of my farm work.

The question is do i have to count my 3 months from when i started on my new farm or can i use my original start date meaning i only have 4 weeks left?

P.s... The first farm i was at has signed me off for the time i was there

    Thanks in advance

    Rich

  3. At the moment I think I'm going to sydney but I haven't booked anything. I've been thinking of stopping over in Thailand but it depends on money - I was going to go a max of one week but probably 3 or 4 days in Bangkok. Not sure how much that would cost

Oh right cool. Thailand is really cheap, you could get accommodation and eat for 4 days for about £50 in Bangkok lol. Im budgeting around 800-1000 to last me a month there and that includes doing quite a bit of travelling around. When was it you're going again?

  4. Lucky you, I worry about everything from weather to not finding a job and ended up home within 2 months!

Lol... I'm sure you'll be fine! When i moved abroad the first time i didnt even do any research. Just turned up and found a cheap hotel then went round all the bars and got a job lol

  5. which one was you looking at?

I guess it just depends on whether you really want to do that stuff doesnt it, the whole getting yourself sorted once you're there doesn't sound too difficult

  6. FWIW wet season in northern Qld is very humid and lots of rain! Obviously there isn't cyclones every day might get one or 2 in your area over the course of the season.

I was in Cairns from November - Feb. November and December was humid but mostly dry but jan and feb it rained heavily a lot. It didn't bother me that much but obviously it can be a pain when planning days out. You never quite get used to the humidity but it's just something you live with :P

Yeah the humidity is the hard bit, heat i can deal with comfortably but when i was in Thailand last year it was the humidity i struggled a bit with. Especially at night! Rain doesn't bother me too much being from the UK lol

  7. I have looked into some of these but decided not to bother. I suppose the peace of mind from having a pick-up from the airport, somewhere to stay, Bank Account and TFN sorted for you would be nice.

I'm just gonna book somewhere for 1st 2 weeks so i just got to find my way to there when i land. Applied for bank account online yesterday and received email this morning saying thats all sorted ready for me to transfer money into, just got to pop into a branch when i get there to show my passport and collect debit card. As far as i know the TFN is quite straight forward aswell

  8. I love a good storm so I am looking forward to the Northern QLD weather. Most the newer houses (post 1983 or something) are built to withstand most cyclone's. There is always plenty of warning too.

Weather around Townsville where I am heading averaged around 35 degree's during Jan/Feb from what I could gather.

You're not the only one, very rarely get a real good storm where i am. Being sat in a little beach bar in Koh Phangan watching a massive storm across the sea was a great experience. average temp of 35c sounds good to me! lol... Dont think it will be anywhere near that when i arrive in Melbourne!
