Congrats C2A, what a lovely X'mas gift! when did you say you submitted your application? How long did it take? When do you leave for Darwin? congrats again...

It took all of a month for my application to be approved, from the time of complete submission. Perhaps it was because my application period straddled the time the website and medical exam changes came in. I was just praying that my approval would come before mid-December as I was told(rumour) that processing really slowed down from then until early Jan. (I know this doesn't help at all...but that's the info that I was given) What were the new changes to the health questionnaire/medical exam? Wishing everyone luck with their applications...hopefully there's good news in your Christmas stockings!

Hi jmo, I think it changed to "processing" within a week but then stayed that way for almost a month, until it got finalised! good luck! dv4

Hi Judy Y, Almost all schools that I've written to require a report from the previous school. Some even asked for reports from the preceding 2 years. I've heard a lot of good things about Frenchville. Some say that it's zoned, which means you'll have to live within the address zone that the school accepts students. I'm not in Rocky yet so all my info is second hand. All the best, dv4

just thought I'd update everyone... 457 lodged online on 30/10/2015, offshore Approval received 27/11/15, Brisbane Office was told by employer that turnaround time for previous applications was about 2 weeks. Not sure why mine took almost 4 weeks. Had the only single request for information such as passport, marriage, birth certs and health insurance cert. perhaps it's the end of the year...everyone's in a holiday mood? good luck to everyone else waiting!

Anyone with any updates? Things seem to have slowed down quite a bit...

Hi guys, We're moving to Rocky sometime early 2016, we've got 2 kids 4 and 7. It's interesting to read the posts from all the way back in 2012. Just wondering how some of you have been getting along? There were lot's of debate previously about whre to live, either Rocky, or closer to the coast. Wondering what most of you decided to do finally? (it may influence our decision as well) Are you still meeting for beers? Has Rocky, Yeppoon and emu park changed at all in the 3 years since this thread was started? What about cars? Is it possible to get financing fresh off the boat? Do the banks need like a credit history or something similar before giving out loans? Oh, how was the cyclone that hit Rocky early this year? Hope everyone was safe. Is it easy to find houses that have been certified safe to a certain category of storm? It's been quite a few months since the last post on this thread...hope to hear from some of you. Thanks in advance..

Hi pk12, have you moved to rockhampton yet? I may be considering a similar move towards the middle of this year. I will be looking for school for my kids as well. If you have any info/updates, pls post them. I'd love to hear how your move was.. regards, dv4
