    Hi, please see section 2.8.4 RPL of the TRA guidelines: https://www.migrationexpert.com.au/applications/TRA_Guidelines.pdf The following is RPL eligibility: "Skilled employment prior to the issuance of an AQF qualification may be recognised if the employment: a) is directly related to the nominated occupation b) commenced after the applicant’s 16th birthday c) includes a minimum of three (3) years full-time (or equivalent) paid employment under the direct supervision of a tradesperson/employer (an informal training period) before an additional three years full-time (or equivalent) paid employment has been completed at the required skill level for the occupation. Skilled employment undertaken prior to and after the issuance of an AQF qualification will be considered to meet the three year requirement." In section 2.4, if you meet the RPL criteria above after being assessed by the RTO you will immediately satisfy (b), © and maybe (d) depending on your level of experience - this is appears to be what the TRA was referring to. Once you meet (a) & (e), you will have a positive skills assessment for your EOI. Having equivalent qualifications is one of the requirements. All the best with your application!

    Hi nicjimcatmia182, I'm assuming you are referring to the 457 skills assessment? TRA assessment depends on which passport country you hold and nominated occupation.   5. Hi Tulip, the case officer needs to be satisfied that your relationship is continuing. They would have requested which documents to submit, mainly new or supporting relationship evidence that has occurred after you have lodged your 309 visa application. It is not mentioned in the Migration Regulations that documentary evidence needs to be certified but on the Department of Immigration website, they have asked for online document original uploads to be certified - see http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/checklists/309-100.aspx . Some people have gotten away with uploading a colour scan of their documents but it depends on the case officer. Rather than hold up the decision making process, I would upload certified copies in the first instance.
  6. No, it does not allow full working rights. It allows study for up to 3 months or working as a unpaid volunteer.

See http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/417.aspx Note: Australia and Greece has signed a working holiday arrangement for subclass 462 but it is not available yet as the start date has not been decided: http://www.immi.gov.au/News/Pages/whm-greece.aspx . Once the Department announces it, you may be eligible for this visa if you meet all the requirements. Your mum cannot be included in the application, only a partner when they apply for their own visa.
  8. Compulsory minimum repayments of HECs used to take my friends and I at least 10 years to pay off completely...I feel for the next generation of learners. Have to start saving for education fees really early!
  9. It all depends what type of schools and in which areas you are referring to. They all can't be that bad and it is up to the child to make the most of their learning. A child may have different learning needs or interest in particular subjects once they reach high school.

  11. The NSW Ambulance Service does not seem to have official membership like Ambulance Victoria. Looks like you need to purchase Ambulance Cover through private health insurance.
  12. Hi rainforest, is your daughter's passport a country from the list of Reciprocal Health Care Agreement countries? If not, I couldn't see on the form where it says children of PR holders are granted Medicare. I believe once your daughter has applied for PR then she can submit the enrolment form. Cheers, Jackie

Your planning and research has been super impressive - kudos to you As for telecommunication providers, the main players in Australia are Telstra, Optus and Vodaphone - if you are planning to work in rural areas, you will want the most network coverage so Telstra is the best bet. But Telstra is more expensive than the others. For data only SIMs, I'm currently using Vaya which runs off the Optus network. Another similar player is Amaysim - reasonably cost effective and runs off the Optus network as well. I am from Melbourne so I cannot comment too much on the cost of living in Sydney - while on holiday there, it is definitely higher than the other capital cities depending on where you end up staying.
