Hi Ozmaniac, Thank you for your reply but looking at the first link in you post brings up a new question straight away. Please have a look at the statement below and the part that I have underlined.
If you’re a permanent Australian resident, or hold a permanent visa under the Commonwealth Migration Act 1958, and you intend to stay in NSW, you are not considered to be a visitor. As such, you are allowed to drive in NSW on a current overseas licence for a maximum of three months. After that, you will need to apply for a NSW licence to continue driving or riding.
The only reason we are going to be in NSW Is that is the only place in OZ where there is a quarentine station for animals. We intend on leaving the state as soon as we collect our dogs and have bought a vehicle.
