  1. Will be in Sydney from the 15th June for 5 nights. Staying in Breakfree on George. On list at present Palm Beach to see home and away set - probably on the Wed Opera house, harbour, bridge Waverley Cemetery (long story) Bondi Any recommendations as to what we should do, places to eat, any events on. Also best way of getting about - if we buy a weekly bus ticket what one to get that will cover palm beach. Thanks
  2. Anyone used this flight? Just wondering how long we are in Singapore for, do you have to get off plane, is there somewhere nearby to wait etc. Also has anyone flown premium economy with BA and if so what are the best seats? Is the duty free near as i know you can't get duty free in Heathrow. Thanks
  3. It's a hard call. My son is over there and if he stays permanently I would want to as well. I would like to give it a try anyway so I don't regret it later on.
  4. Thanks. Did up my Cv and agent thinks I have a chance but I worry that if I don't apply by the time I am 50 then I won't be able to. Have looked at various sites about the sponsored 457 visa but very unclear if you need to be under 50 or not.
  5. Thanks Lady Rainicorn that is useful to know. Can you recommend the agent you used or is that aloud. Will look up the list to see if they are registered.
  6. Have been on to global migrate and have to do up CV for them to look at. I am wary about paying someone.
  7. I have gone through the skills list but still now sure if I would qualify. I see human resources and coaching both seem to be on one of the lists. I have a degree in industrial relations and personnel management but have worked mostly in the soft hr skills such as mediation, investigation, coaching and delivery of training programmes in conflict management, communications, team, work customer care. I am just about to compete an advanced diploma in Life and Executive coaching. Anyone know whether these skills match the list?
  8. Thanks MaggieMay24. It is sometimes hard to trawl through the government sites. I really appreciate the help people give on this forum.
  9. What does this entail and how far back do you have to go? Do you need it for when you were under 18 for example is you lived in Spain for 9 months?
  10. Thanks Verystormy for your reply. I'm not happy to pay a company unless I have done some research hence the post. In fairness to the company the agent was very clear about what they would do in terms of matching companies they know are looking to sponsor people with my skills. My dilemma is in knowing whether my skills match the list as they are varied. I don't want to just apply to companies and find out that they cannot sponsor me because they don't think it matches the list! I am aware that the 457 is temporary and at present that wouldn't concern me.
  11. Have been in touch with global migrate and they were fairly helpful. However I have heard scare stories of paying agents so wonder if anyone has used them or other agents successfully and what their experience is. As part of their service they send your cv to companies they know are looking for people and willing to sponsor matching skills to companies.
  12. Thanks calingary and beckdownunder. It just seems quite daunting as I suppose my skills are quite general. Am hoping to go over for 6 weeks next summer so will do a bit more research on companies int he area I am going to and see if I can network through linkedin. Can I ask if anyone knows what the situation is if you wanted to start your own business? What type of visa would you need and would you need a certain amount to invest?
  13. As I am nearly 50 it would seem the only visa I would get is the 457 which requires sponsorship. How do you go about getting a company to sponsor you? Is it simply a matter of using jobsites and applying? Any information appreciated. My qualifications are around HR and Coaching.
