  1. Thank you so much for your help, that's what I thought I had to do. Just got a bit stressed when the agent said things had changed and was wanting $1500 when I thought it was a really straight forward process. Basically rental agreement and bank statements should be enough. No health issues or an complicated issues at all. You've made my day :)

  2. So for my next step it’s just a case of logging on and checking Immiaccount ? I expected to upload a bit of information to prove I’m still married etc and expected this part to be really straight forward. An agent done our previous 2 visas as we found it far to stressful and didn’t want to make mistakes.

  3. It's been a long time since I was on this page. I've gone from a PMV300 to a Subclass 820. The 820 expires in June this year, my immigration agent just emailed to say that the next process to 801 PR has changed. Can anyone confirm this as I expected it to be pretty straight forward, but it's looking like costing me $1500 for fees alone. Does this seem about right ? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

  4. Congrats Gbamber on the visa!! And congrats (in advance!) on the wedding! Fort William is such a beautiful spot & by April you'll both be sporting a nice aussie summer tan! :-)

Thank you Melibios. I've lived in Fort William for 35 years and when the weather is nice then it's beautiful but that's not very often :-) 5 and a half months to get a nice tan for the wedding.

  5. In bed sound asleep and my FaceTime starts ringing on my phone. It's 5 in the morning and my fiancé is calling. YES the call I've been waiting weeks for. 10 months and 3 days. Visa granted, October 13th I'm going back to Australia to be with my fiancé. If it wasn't for having this website and forum to look at and chat to people I'd have been lost. I'm on this website about 30 times a day looking for people's updates and reading other things. Good luck everyone that's waiting.

  6. 6 weeks will feel like along time but it will go quickly and you will be back before you know it, then hopefully all of this visa process will be a distant memory!

I really hope it doesnt come through just after you land home! now that would be a kick in the balls!

When is your wedding? are you having it in oz?

When we first got together last year we done 9 weeks apart before I came to OZ and that was hard.

We we are getting married in Scotland on the 9th April 2016 then having a blessing back in OZ on the 24th April so our friends and my partners family are all here.

It's a bit handy because we can sort some things out for wedding while we are back in Scotland. If my visa comes in the next few days I'd be gutted because I won't be able to come back till mid October anyway.

  7. Yea they are pretty bad at that hey! If only they gave you more of a realistic timeframe...

My Migration agent (not for this process but for my previous visa application) told me that the processing time was only 5 months, when I realised that he was looking at the website has been out of date for years, I just chuckled and lost my faith in him a bit!

We were told 5 months for low risk for the PMV and the thought that's magic we will have it in April only to be told by the Australian embassy in the UK 10-14 months. It's so far out of date. Well it won't be long now and the Perth summer won't be far away either. Back to the cold and very wet Fort William for 6 weeks, not sure how I'll cope. Got used to the nice weather pretty quick.

  8. Im sooo gutted for you! You emailed your CO right and gave them the nudge and that didnt work hey!?

Yeah my agent got in touch with the CO 2 weeks ago for a wee nudge but nothing. In a way I'm one of the lucky ones, my fiancé is coming to Scotland in 4 weeks for my brothers wedding. So we won't be apart that long. Just wish the CO said it will be 1 week 2 weeks or a month, then I know where I stand. If I was getting it in the next few days I'd have gone a sat on a beach in Bali instead of going back to Scotland. It's pretty poor the lack of information they give you.

  9. I might have had a bit of spare time on my hands, so I calculated the average time based on the grant times above... 9 months 2 weeks and 4.7 days! Not sure thsi hels anything though he he he!

I'm 2.7 days short of the average and leaving Perth to head back to Scotland tonight to wait for my PMV. Leaving my fiancé and her 2 boys here. Going to be emotional trip to the airport in a few hours. On the good side I get to see my niece and nephew who I've not seen in 15 months

  10. Ah man that sucks for you, im sorry to hear your predicament! Do you know if your migration agent contacted them to give them the nudge? or did they just say it was processing etc?

My agent didn't want to contact them till it reached 10 months but I asked her to send an email to make sure they knew I was in Australia and if there was any update. The reply just said, your clients Prospective Marriage Visa is currently being processed. The processing office is unable to estimate when exactly your clients application will be finalised.

  11. Is it a tourist visa you are on? Can you go to Bali and come back in on another tourist visa?

Yes it's a tourist visa that I'm on. It expired in May this year but I applied onshore to extend it till October but they only extended it till 10th August, so I paid $1060 to try and extend it again which they refused. I'm see the last few days of the 4 week bridging visa you get when you apply to extend a visa. I know it should be any day now. I thought about going to Bali for even a week in the hope that it would come then I can fly back to Perth. But if nothing happens today I think I'm just going back to cold wet Scotland for 6 weeks :(
