  1. I booked mine as soon as I lodged the application. It took about 10 weeks to get a case officer, so it depends if you are in a hurry! Also I needed some further tests following the medical which held it up another couple of months, so I was glad I had booked it straight away otherwise I'd still be waiting now!
  2. I'm sure you'll be fine if English is your first language, but if you do miss getting an 8 on the writing part but are close it's worth paying to get it remarked. I got a 7.5 and they changed it to an 8.5 (cost about £60 but they refund it if they increase your grade). It's more subjective than the reading and listening that are right or wrong answers. Best of luck.
  3. As the main (and only!) applicant I didn't have to attach anything related to work history as I wasn't claiming any points for it. It just remained in the document list as "Recommended" after I'd applied, but I was never asked for anything, so I'm sure you won't need to either.
  4. Depends how quickly your medical results get submitted. Mine were submitted last Friday and the grant came through 6 days later, so shouldn't be too long for you now!
  5. Got my grant through this morning!!! Hope everyone else gets theirs soon too!
  6. In one of my letters from the case officer in Adelaide it stated that you can just e-mail documents as attachments if there's a problem doing it online (I've pasted the wording below), so I'm sure that would be fine if you tell them why. Contacting GSM Adelaide To provide additional documents to GSM Adelaide please attach the documents online via link www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/general-skilled-migration-attachments.htm. In the event of an error with the online link, please email the documents as scanned attachments to the adelaide.gsm.team2@immi.gov.au. GSM Adelaide accepts scanned copies. If possible, please provide colour scanned copies of original documents. If you are unable to colour scan documents, please ensure that the documents you scan are certified copies. If you send us a scan of the original document, we can accept PDF, JPEG, TIFF or BMP file formats, although we prefer that it be in PDF format. You can email the documents as scanned attachments to adelaide.gsm.team2@immi.gov.au.
  7. Great news Shelly and Kelly! All the best for the big move. Fingers crossed for everyone else's coming through soon!
  8. Hi Matthewroberts. I have applied for a 189 visa without claiming work experience. I listed all of my employment in the EOI but selected not relevant next to each job (I deliberated for ages over the best way to do it and this was recommended in some forums). That way the automated system won't award you any points for it but they still get to see your employment history (which you will have to list again in your actual application so it's best they match up). For me, my experience was technically relevant (in my eyes!) but the accountancy assessment board don't class your work as skilled unless it's post-qualifying. Since I had less than 3 years post qualification I just selected it all as not relevant, and I had 65 points without it anyway. I'm at the point where I've applied and been allocated a case officer and they haven't said anything so I assume it's ok! Regarding Form 80, I did the same as CaptainR and filled it in and attached it in advance, even though it might not be needed. It takes ages (all of your trips abroad in the last 10 years etc) so I thought it best to get a head start! Hope that's helpful, good luck. Lisa
  9. Hi June 14 gang. Thanks for this useful thread and thanks Shelly for starting it. I've been following it for a while! Just to let you know, I lodged a 189 application on 11th June and have been allocated a CO today and asked for further info (my health check, which I had on 5th July but is on hold as the doc heard a heart murmur and I had to then wait 5 weeks for an echo on the NHS, and a further 2 weeks for the results, due any day). The first thing I noticed was that when I logged into my Immi account, the "Last Updated" date on the first screen you see had today's date in, whereas usually it has the date that I last amended something myself i.e. last attached a document. Also, in the list of documents, the "Health, evidence of" progress status had changed from "Recommended" to "Requested". Then when I checked my e-mail I'd received one from "adelaide.gsm.team2" requesting more information. All they want is my health check, but they have attached the following 5 pdf documents if this is of interest to anyone: 1. "Request Documents or Info" (a letter from the individual CO saying that they have begun considering my application but require further info, and that I must respond within 28 days) 2. "Request Checklist" (just saying that the info required is the health check) 3. "Request for Information - Detailed Information" (explaining the health check and how to arrange it etc) 4. "Visa Application Summary" (listing my personal details and asking me to check they are correct) 5. "Client Service Information" (Privacy Act info) Good luck to all, at least it seems like they are now getting a move on with looking at June applications!
