  1. I was assigned a CO from Brisbane over the weekend, I had already filled out a Form 80 but they requested that my husband did so aswell. Submitted the form on Sunday - just playing the waiting game now!
  2. Has anyone had any updates since lodging? Still waiting on a CO...
  3. Monmouth itself is a beautiful little town, it's not to big but has everything you need. If you are just looking for a village with nothing else but maybe a small pub, Llangrove is lovely and quiet, as is pretty much anywhere around Monmouth. It's such a beautiful part of the U.K. - I'm moving back to that area (ish) in the next few weeks and cannot wait!! I lived in the area for about six years so if you have any questions feel free to ask!
  4. Had my skills assessed on 5th March EOI lodged 5th March Invitation - TODAY!!!!
  5. My Schools Direct route still had the exact same PGCE content and I was required to do the same amount of academic work I just had more time in practice and less time spent in uni, I still received the same PGCE qualification and a third of a masters - it just depends of which schools direct route you take as they are not all the same! The EYPS is now called Early Years ITT - which I believe is recognised here and would more than qualify you for the 3-7 age range - I had someone else on my schools direct course who is also looking to move over here however she didn't do the early years route so can't be considered as an Early Years Teacher over here so not to sure what she can do now! Just another update - I received my invitation today
  6. Hello not sure if this will help or not but I have a degree in Early Childhood and then completed EYPS (the previous qualification to Early Years ITT and apparently equivalent) I applied to have skills assessed and it was rejected. I then went on to do ITT through a PGCE:Early Years schools direct route and have just received my positive skills assessment just put in my EOI with 70 points - fingers crossed we don't have to wait to long!!
  7. Hi Selina!! im just waiting for my skills to be assessed as an Early Childhood Teaxher which should be back in 3 weeks or so then I will lodge my eoi - how long did your invitation take after lodging yours? thanks emma
  8. Dear Importer/Importer’s Agent Our records indicate that you have a valid import permit to bring your pet/s to Australia, and you would like to have quarantine undertaken at the Eastern Creek Quarantine Facility. The Australian Government Department of Agriculture has decided to cease taking bookings at our Eastern Creek Quarantine Facility for arrivals after 16 October 2015. This is in keeping with the consolidation of Post Entry Quarantine to one facility in Melbourne. For further information on the new Quarantine Facility in Mickleham Victoria please click on this link http://www.agriculture.gov.au/import/future-post-entry-quarantine-arrangements. If you wish to book your animal into Eastern Creek (for arrival before 16 October) or need information on Quarantine Facilities in Melbourne please click on this linkhttp://www.agriculture.gov.au/cats-dogs/quarantine-facilities-and-fees/post-entry-quarantine-facilities or alternatively you can use the contact details below. 9. December would be perfect but this is the reply I got from DAFF which seems to suggest otherwise...is there a date for an official announcement? Good morning Emma, Do you have granted import permits for your dogs? We can only proceed with a booking when you have the import permits. To make a booking we require the import permit numbers. Also, are you looking at arrival into Melbourne or Sydney? As our Sydney facility will be permanently closing later this year in preparation for our brand new quarantine facility in Melbourne opening later this year. So if you’re look for arrival on 12th October your dogs will most likely need to complete the quarantine period in Melbourne. Thank you. 10. Hi Lauren, i emailed DAFF enquiring about the booking process stating I wanted the dogs to stay in October...they replied saying I should book at Melbourne as Sydeny would probably be closed by then..
  11. Unfortunatly not....apparently the dogs must land and be taken immediately to quantantine....no internal flights allowed it's looking like all our plans will have to change!!
  12. Hi Bob, how does October look for Sydney quartentine? I didn't realise Melbourne didn't accept snub nose dogs? We were planning to travel in October (we have booked our flights not the dogs) we need to relook at things if they will be closed by then?! Is there no way a snub nose can get in after Sydney closes?? thanks emma
  13. After you book your test you are given 30 hours of interactive material - this should be all you need, it has different material for each section and is in the set format so you know what to expect when you take the actual test!
  14. I did my IELTS test last month and got 8.5 overall...I practised a fair amount so I knew what the format would be like and what to expect etc. The biggest tip I would give (particularly for the writing section) is use a pencil - that way you can rub out any mistakes, for some reason I used a pen so had to cross things out but still managed to get an 8 in writing so try and relax about it!!!! I genuinely think they just want to make sure you can write a structured paragraph - it doesn't need big fancy words, it just needs to be clear and have direction!! Keep practicing, use a pencil and try not to worry to much!!!! Good luck!!!
  15. They are currently writing it for me - thank you for your help. At the bare minimum, if I do fail the skills assesment at least I will have all the documentation ready to go when I finish the PGCE!
  16. Brilliant - thank you to both you and Joanna, you have eased my worries a little! I will be in contact soon re the quote. Many Thanks Emma
  17. I have done the required supervised teaching days as part of EYPS, however when I did it, it wasn't initial teacher training yet it is equivalent to the new one which is initial teacher training... hence my confusion?
  18. Hello, Im planning on applying for a 189 visa, as an Early Childhood Teacher - I currently have a degree in Early Childhood, and Early Years Professional Status - has anyone obtained this visa with these qualifications alone? EYPS has recently changed to Early Years Teacher (which they say mine is equivalent to) which is classed as initial teacher training, however i don't think this was the case when i did it. I am doing my PGCE this year, however I would rather get my skills assessed sooner rather than later. Many Thanks Emma
  19. Hello, We are planning on moving to Australia in September 2015, and couldn't bear to even think about leaving our dogs behind, however I've read lots of negative things about taking frenchies on planes. I was told to speak to you, as you might be able to put my mind at rest a little, and advise the best routes to take? Bow, the frenchie will be one year old when we travel, and Snoopy the staffy will be nine, both are currently in excellent health and have never had any problems, however the staffy has never been in a cage, do you have any recommendations on how to get him used to it? Many thanks, Emma.
