Hi Telle, I feel the same. For me, the wait time for a CO allocation was the killer. It pretty much took almost 11 weeks! That was crazy! A friend of mine whom applied earlier this year only had to wait for 7 weeks for a CO allocation. I'm hoping to hear something soon this week with regards to a grant. I've done everything & all that I needed to for the application process. Just hope the CO gets back to me soon with a grant & everything moves smoothly. Kind regards, N.

So nice to see more & more people getting grants. Is there anyone still waiting for a grant? I've submitted my last piece of document (police clearance cert) last Thurs, 11th Sept & am currently waiting for a grant. Kind regards, N.

Hi lippylorna76, I would advise you to do everything in advance. This will cut down the wait time for your grant considerably. Since we know for sure now that the COs are working on the mid June applicants, it would be appropriate for you to get your medical & police check done. I'm going through my migration process through a lawyer as well & he has frontloaded all my documents except for my police check since i'm still waiting for it to be ready for collection. Dear everyone, I'm super pleased to inform you that I've finally gotten a CO after such a long agonizing wait. I can really relate to Shelley in this regard. At present, I'm waiting for my police certificate of clearance to be done & will be collecting it next week. Hopefully a grant will come soon after I've lodged my visa on the 23rd June 2014. Hence, all the mid-June applicants should hear from a CO soon. This has been almost been an 11 week wait for me, since the time of lodgement! Gosh! Kind regards, N.

Hi guys, Thought I'd share an observation I've made. I've noticed this pattern that the 189 Visa applicants who are engineers seem to get their COs & grants a lot faster than the rest. I came across this thread as well http://www.expatforum.com/expats/australia-expat-forum-expats-living-australia/196210-189-190-visa-applicants-6384.html#post4999273 & apparently there is someone who lodged on the 23rd June, like me & has been assigned a CO yesterday, 21st Aug. I have not been assigned a CO as yet, unfortunately. Perhaps software engineers is one of the skills that is reaching its occupation ceiling so they're trying to clear these applications first? Hopefully more applications will be assigned to COs & more grants for the June applicants will be cleared soon. Best wishes to all. Kind regards, N.

Dear Ceddy, Thanx for replying. I'm currently awaiting for a CO as well but have not heard anything. I've lodged my application on the 23rd June. It's been a rather long wait time. I've gotten acceptance into higher education studies but it would make more sense for me to enrol as a permanent resident. The 2nd semester has just started in uni & I can't enrol as I'm still waiting for the immigration. I'm really afraid that I may not make it in time, etc. Did you have to produce any kind of documentation to your agent in order for them to make the call? My lawyers are aware of my situation & they've got my offer letter from the university as well. I'm wondering now if I should suggest to them to call in to immigration to inquire about my situation. Hi Ceddy, Oh dear. I've got a bit of a similar situation though mine is more about university enrolment, etc. Perhaps I should contact my agent again. I've sent them 2 emails & both replies mentioned that I'll have to wait for the immigration to contact them. Do you remember when exactly in June did you lodged your application? Kind regards, N
