  1. thanks for taking the time to tell me your thoughts everyone, this has helped.
  2. i think that's a 'fair' price for Xmas, i paid $2,200 AUD with Korean Air last year, booking in July, and they were very good. 20hr stop on the way though (which may not be ideal for you), but you get a free hotel, dinner and breakfast. Also, try and get a flight where you arrive in the morning into the UK/AUS and then stay up all day, and you'll be ok.
  3. Bit of a depressing thread, but my Dad has terminal cancer, im thinking I will go and see him again very soon, while he is still has some quality of life, and then maybe again nearer the end/funeral. I’m terrified of doing the wrong thing, and having regrets later or not doing what’s best for him. I went home at Christmas where we had family time, but its getting a lot worse, as there are no treatments left for him to try, i think he is on borrowed time, and the Dr’s have advised my family to contact Macmillan. Has anyone been through this, and had any regrets after. A friend said seeing a close family member of hers at the end was a mistake, as it’s not how you want to remember them, and they don’t really know you are there, but I cant imagine leaving after a trip home knowing I won’t ever see him again face to face. I wouldn’t normally post something like this, but I don’t know anyone who has gone through this from a distance. i do have a strong family network at home.
  4. Exactly! if you have a long stop I would ask about a free hotel, i didnt realise you sometimes get these for free! a Tamaze and an ipad may also help!
  5. Hi All, I just booked flights with Korean Airlines (best price with Skiddoo, but then I got flight centre to price match it), $2120, flying 12.12-01.01, my boyfriends flying 18.12-01.01 $2301. You have a 20 hr stop on the way, but they put you up in a hotel (im told, just waiting on this from the airline, and can be the 5* Hyatt, if you are lucky), and 25hrs (4hr stop) on the way back, but the airport do free tours. https://www.koreanair.com/content/koreanair/global/en/offers-promotion.html#excellent-transit-program, they also have massage parlours and showers. Online reviews look good, and a couple of friends also thought they were good. otherwise at the mo, its at least $2700 for a top tier airline, and I just cant justify that!
