  1. Woke up 5 mins ago(06:00am GMT) and checked the e-mail religiously as always and there it was......GRANT NOTIFICATION!!!!! Right, time to calm down a little and start the job hunt and book flights. Lucky I'm a nurse, going to get one of my consultant friends to prescribe me something to calm me down (joking of course - this is one of the best feelings ever). Let's hope there's more of you out there opening the same e-mail. Fingers crossed.
  2. No time to waste Shelly, too exciting, it's now 1am GMT and after a mini house search found the required docs and already uploaded - back to waiting!!!
  3. Hey guys, one step closer, CO allocated today, they already have Meds and PCC, but just want a couple more payslips or p60s! Nearly there!!! Big smiles at my house! Fingers crossed.
  4. hi there Matt and Nicola, i am also a nurse in the process of visa application. My advice regards the hours for experience would be not to add anything you think might cause the case officers to question it only delays things. And the fact is you already have 60 points, enough to be invited. Quick question though, is Nicola diploma or degree trained as the AHPRA have made things pretty tricky for those only with a diploma to register - in fact pretty impossible. Dave
  5. Well done and congrats!!! Brilliant to see more June lodgements being granted - very exciting times. Best of luck to you and your family!
  6. We front loaded all our documents and so fingers crossed we won't hear from a case office and just receive a direct grant - kind of tense waiting though!
  7. Hi keighley, welcome to the thread! Just reading your post - me and my wife also off to brizzie (hopefully), also hoping for late October! Wha do you and hubby do workwise, have you already got jobs in the pipeline? Fingers crossed for you guys - my police checks took 3 weeks, so not too long. Dave x
  8. Does anyone else know of anyone other then our lucky friend 'Pasteypoms', who has recieved a grant, direct or otherwise for a June lodgement??? Oh the wait.....I'm sooo impatient!
  9. Hey Alonsd, that is awesome news, that must be a real sense if relief. Not long now then, what do you hope to do work-wise once you're out there? Could be any day now!! Must admit abit jealous!
  10. I tell you, whenever I start reading the thread I'm sure my heart rate creeps up as the adrenaline kicks in - just too exciting. Oh how I can't wait!
  11. Cheers mate, appreciate it. 11 weeks! lets hope it's your time soon.D
  12. Hi Shelly, yeah, we did our medicals pre-lodgement as we were informed that this could make the process quicker!! Still nothing different showing on either the eMedical or Immiaccount. I gave our HAP ID numbers in the visa application form and guessed this would register somewhere. I'm sure they have connected the two but ones imagination can't help worrying! This is the thing though I find difficulty in finding any official info that's helpful. Thank heavens for forums, at least there's some support. has anyone else front loaded their medicals and experienced similar?
  13. Thanks Kelly, it took some work though as i@m sure you know - Slightly concerned though as my wife is also a nurse (more years post grad than me) but holds a Dip HE rather than a BSc like me and we are trying to work out 1) if we try and register her at all as this seems to be a thorny issue at the mo with Dip HEs or 2) risk it and go over on my visa (once granted) and register there - not sure what the AHPRA are up to at the mo, will they indeed register anymore uk nurses with Dip HE', doesn't look hopeful. When and where are you hoping to go? Oh and although I have my provisional reg with AHPRA (fully registered on presentation at their office with a valid visa) this has a time limit.....I have until the 24th Dec, or i have to go through it all again...AHHHHH....please grant my visa soon.
  14. Hi Jac2011, just wondering (as a nurse myself) i notice you qualify this sept - (congrats by the way), and intend on going out to Oz in 2015, how do you intend on getting work as almost every place i have asked require at least 2/3 years post qualification experience (which i have), do you have a secret tip you might share??? also, will you be the primary applicant for a visa because without the post reg experience you may find it diffcult to gain points and also ANMAC letter of determination is tricky at the best of times, as i have found out, let alone newly qualified, but i imagine you have all this thought out, just thought i'd put it out there. any way as someone recently just gone through all this, feel free to ask any questions you might have. best of luck with the nursing. Dx
  15. Sitting at home today (in the UK) with sustained anticipation at any news of any sort, I came across this excellent thread! Its tough waiting and like most of you guys I'm sat here wondering the same questions to which there seems to be scarce offical information. I also lodged my application in June but had already completed Meds and PCC (as did my wife and little one) and uploaded all documents required. My immiaccount syas that the documents have been recieved but makes no mention of the Med even though these were undertaken in late March?! Having looked through your posts it seems that no one quite knows if immiaccount details the acknowledgement that meds have been completed - would be helpful if an assigned CO contacted you to say - but it also seems from your posts that sometimes epople are just granted a visa directly as the first contact from a CO - is that right??? To be honest I wouldn't mind which way arouand it is, but it woudl be great to know exactly what I am currently wating for this time - patientce certainly is not one of my characterisitcs. Anyway its been great reading your posts and hearing that I'm not the only one - fingers crossed for us all. And cheers Shelly for starting this great thread. AHPRA - provisional registration DEC '13, IELTS FEB '14 w:8.5 r:9 S:9, Meds MAR '14, PCC MAY '14, ANMAC LoD 14/6/14, 189 Lodged 21/6/14, excited, nervous and a tiny bit frustrated; currently!
