Hi I'm in Sydney right now. I also didn't get any clear answers from the OTC, and with AHPRA. It's so annoying. Most employers tell me they require applicants with full AHPRA registration. Recruitment agencies were not much help either.

Hi all! I am also an overseas-trained OT. I've had 6 years of experience when I decided to migrate to Australia. I've been successful in completing stage 1 desktop audit from the OTC. I've also been granted a permanent resident visa. I got here in Sydney 4 months ago and still with no luck finding an employer who's willing to let me undergo the supervised practice audit. I've communicated with the OTC and AHPRA regarding this problem but they can't help me on the employment.

Hi all! I have written to the OTC months back. I got a reply from the Executive Director, Julia Fenton and we spoke on the phone. All she told me was to explain adequately to the potential employers how the supervised practice audit goes (as if I didn't do that). I've done that for over 4 months now and still no luck on finding employment. I also phoned AHPRA but they can not help me with the problem. This whole supervised registration thing is a nightmare!!!!

Hi! I am an Occupational Therapist from the Philippines. I had almost 6 years experience as pediatric OT. I was successful in completing my desktop audit and in gaining PR. But when I got here in Sydney, no one was willing to take me in as they needed OTs who are fully registered with AHPRA. I tried contacting more than 20 employers and agencies but without any luck. I've been here for 4 months now without any luck in finding an employer. The registration for overseas OTs suck big time.

Hi nikki! I am also an overseas-trained OT and I'm going thru the AHPRA problem. I can't seem to find an employer who is willing to allow me to undergo practice audit. You mentioned you have finally been offered a position. How did it go? Were you granted limited registration? also, I would like to ask for the agency/ employer that hired you to make enquiries, if you dont mind. THANKS HEAPS!
