  1. thanks again. And from your experience and knowledge, what are the chances of getting an invite for accountant with 65 points(including 5 for state nomination) or 60 points (before an invitation/sponsorship from state), for 190 visa?
  2. OK thanks sorry for sounding like a newbie(which I am). But what happens if you don't receive an invitation from the state but you still meet the normal immigration requirements? Do you still stand a chance for being invited under independent visa?
  3. I already have positive skills assessment, and I met all 12 core knowledge areas including all mandatory and optional ones.
  4. Thanks for replying. I already have positive skills assessment from relevant assessing authority.
  5. Hi everyone. Please just let me know if I am correct regarding the requirements of NSW State sponsorship. From surfing there website, I have figured out that there is no experience requirement if you have occupation listed on NSW SOL. Am I correct?
  6. Hi there. I don't know whether I am being over optimistic in thinking that although accountants occupation ceiling has been reduced significantly, but now the CPA criteria for assessment has also gotten tougher. Now there are 7 instead of 4 mandatory knowledge areas that need to be fulfilled. So does that mean the number of people who will get positive skills assessment will also plunge?
  7. thanks a lot for replying. Unfortunately I'm not from UK. I made sure I sent all the required documents and this document as I said, was not required and mainly contained information about logistics i.e when I will receive the certificate and where the graduation ceremony will be held etc. It also stated that I have passed the program but this was more comprehensively stated on another document namely Award letter. So would it be reasonable to assume, that if that document was not required to begin with, even if I didn't get both side of this document verified, it is unlikely that it will lengthen my application processing time?
  8. Hi, I recently applied to CPA for skills assessment. As per their website I need to send them the following documents; certified copies of syllabus, transcripts and award letters. I sent them the verified copies of above-mentioned documents. But I also sent an additional document, result letter, which was not explicitly required. This document also didn't contain any information that was either important or an information that was not already included in the other two documents. It was a 2 sided document and I uploaded both sides but only one side was verified, the other side was not. So my question is although this document didn't contain any important or new information and neither was it required explicitly in the first place, but since one of its side was unverified, will CPA ask for verified scan of other side of this document subsequently and as a result my processing time be lengthened? Regards
  9. He said "Both universities are chartered by Federal Government’s Higher Education Commission of Pakistan" so to answer your question, no he didn't
  10. Ok but don't you think there will be some differences between ACCA + Bsc degree from Oxford Brookes and a degree from an Australian university?
  11. Thanks, and if you don't mind me asking, what exactly were your qualifications? Regards.
  12. I got 2 exemptions in my ACCA based on another technician level certificate offered by ACCA itself. Will that be a problem? I do have the syllabus and transcript for this course
  13. anyone else with opinion?
  14. Hi since most assessing bodies now accept ielts of up to 3 years old, I have a question regarding this. My ielts will become 3 years old on 26 May 2015 and my relevant assessing authorities (CPA,ICAA) normally take 4-8 weeks to process the applications, my question is that once my documents reach their relevant office before 26 May 2015, does it matter if ielts becomes more than 3 years old while my case is still being processed? I have contacted CPA they told me it would not be a problem as long as my documents reach their office before that 3 year mark while I still havent got a single reply so far from ICAA even after mailing them a dozen times. Still i wanted to know if any of you people had similar experiences? Regards
  15. Actually not really a clincher, at the moment I don't have an issue with processing time much. But my main issue is getting a positive assessment
  16. I got this processing time from their website.
  17. Thanks. As for the post, If only I was in UK :-( but I'm from Pakistan unfortunately, so I don't have that option. Now does that change your opinion?
  18. Hi, I'm considering getting my skills assessment done. I am an ACCA qualified and also have a bachelors degree in applied accounting from oxford brookes degree, I am interested in knowing which body should I apply to? All three bodies charge more or less a similar kind of amount though ICA takes 8 weeks while CPA takes around 15 business days but I need to know with which body do I have highest chances of a positive outcome? I've discovered that IPA doesn't accept IELTS tests which are more than 2 years old so IPA is not an option anymore. P.S I have asked this question elsewhere as well but just wanted to get a second opinion from a different forum, since applying for skills assessment requires spending of a handsome amount of money. cheers
  19. Thanks a lot. I obviously haven't checked it myself but I've read on forums from people who got positive assessment with this degeee without full membership
