  1. Good day! 189 Visa granted today! (Applied 23/Nov-16, Grant 17/Mar-16) Thanks to this forum for all the valuable information and support. Regards
  2. Not required at this point Navin. A letter is required only for courses that you do after applying for assessment. Such as continued competence where required... Also required for ECDIS endorsement even if done before assessment.
  3. AMSA will return the original sea time letters when you go for Orals. Or they did in my case..
  4. After my orals I was given the option to apply for ECDIS endorsement along with CoR application, for which I had to pay an extra 150$ or so. I opted not to at that point. Then she said I can always apply for endorsements at a later stage and pay for them separately. However for ECDIS and other endorsements you will have to submit an additional letter from the course provider stating the course is approved by the Administration and that you were present at the course. This letter is required even if it is stated on the certificate. Same applied for continued competence courses done overseas.
  5. Hi Capt. Deepak.. I had got 8yrs work experience on the AMSA assessment letter, however when I filled out the dates of joining and leaving a company in the EOI I fell into the 5-8 yr category which I actually didnt expect. I fell short by around 2 months even though I have been working as an officer since 2004 with only a 18 month break from sailing in between. My question is can I show the months I was home when switching Companies as work exp? Im talking about 3 months time which is normal leave duration. Also this will not reflect in the Company letters as they will issue me employment guarantee only from signing on their first ship to signing off their last ship?
  6. Regarding work experience, you may not get all the experience mentioned in the AMSA assessment letter. AMSA gave me 8 yrs, however when I submitted EOI I fell into 5-8 yrs category. This is because AMSA states the total work experience in the maritime industry, whereas DIBP calculates work experience in the last 10 yrs only. Regarding qualification- AMSA assessment letter specifically mentions ''Austalian qualification equivalent for Ships Master, Chief Officers, Chief Engineers and 2nd Engineers is an Advanced Diploma and equivalent for Deck Watchkeeper and Engineer Watch keeper is Diploma. Requests for higher qualifications cannot be granted."
  7. Received assessment letter from AMSA today! 8 yrs work exp and advance diploma for qualification..
  8. Who is it that decides the points we get for work experience.. AMSA or Immi? Its because when I was finished with orals I wanted to submit additional sea time letters, however AMSA tod me they dont need additional sea time as they only calculate minimum sea time required for the respective CoR and dont give Immi any point count???
  9. Passed my Masters CoR orals today at Fremantle. This forum and the question banks helped a lot. Thanks very much!! I have emailed the list of questions to the address in the read me first file...
